Hello everyone, I am very excited to play. The tactics I have in mind for Jeod is to percive almost all threats/all threats ( +11 perception) and scout ahead of the party, for information, you know traditional rouge duites. I am excited to use the house rules as it will allow a duel kukri wielding rouge with +4 to hit and damage next level, hopefully making me a competant damage dealer.

Hayman, The Military Bard |

Hayman is a man that will look at each person in this squad and see only the potential of what they can be according to his perception. He will view this group as his squad, even though he will in no way asert leadership, and gently suggest tactics as he sees mistakes and emotional reactions being made to threatening situations.
His emtions are burried deep, but there are a few situations that will bring out the anger in him pretty quick.
His oratory and acting skills are to simulate his "drill sergent" attitude when pumping up his troops. When he yells, "What the hell Motha ----er! You fight like a pansie!" he is actually giving you a +1 to hit and +1 damamge on your rolls.
His actiing skill is a part of that as well, more so to cower others than to convince his friends how serious he is.
He is an older character and weaker than most. He is a translator, and will have tongues when he gets 2nd level spells.
I look forward to playing with you all and RPing the hell out of this thread.

Felix Romilly |

Hello everyone, just tossing out an introduction as well.
Felix is a seeker of lore and truth, an explorer and mapmaker. He's the sort of person who during combat will be more distracted coming up with whatever information he can about the creatures we face(and mentally noting anything new he was unaware of) than in paying thought to the danger itself. Between blows or spells he'll chime in with 'fun-facts' about the creatures that occasionally can be useful, and though he may come off as a bit of a know it all his intention is more to teach than to show off since he truly believes that knowledge should be shared.
Outside of combat he's likely to take any downtime sketching maps of the places that have been explored and making notes of any powers or tactics he saw creatures use or any interesting objects encountered.
In a more statistical way, much of his spell casting is going to be utility, trying to use his channeled energy for the bulk of healing(with selective channel to hopefully allow it without helping the enemy recover as well) though he of course will drop prepared spells to heal as needed.
For someone who wears decent armor, he's quick(one of his domains gives him +10ft movement) that should allow him to get to anyone who is hurt, and he is going to try and stay up nearer to the front of battle rather than hiding in the rear most fights, the better to observe his foes. While his knowledge skills aren't as nice as I'd like yet(thanks to the cleric's 2+ per level), he can at will touch a monster and hit a DC19 knowledge check's results, so hopefully I can help pick out enemy weaknesses if I am close. If we hit level 2 I should have at least 1 rank in every knowledge however which will help a lot too.
Depending on who we get as a fighter, I am probably going to be our noisy one(sorry Jeod) however in really specific circumstances I may be able to help with scouting. If you hear something, or suspect there is something on the other side of a door I can see what is on the other side of it 6/day as if I was casting clairvoyance.

Hayman, The Military Bard |

Forgot to post traits on my character. Here they are...
Courageous: Your childhood was brutal, yet you persevered
primarily through force of will and the hope that
no matter how hard things might get, as long as you kept
a level head you’d make it through. You gain a +2 trait
bonus on saving throws against fear effects.
Armor Expert:When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1, to a minimum check penalty of 0.
And to answer Unruly...
Hayman raises his left eyebrow in response to the brash proclamation, then sips his ale slowly, accidentally spilling a small portion on his armor.
Hayman makes a scene by dabbing his napkin on the spilled ale then looks up at Xiong... "So, you like your men submissive?"
This darws a chuckle from one of the nearby tables.

jeod |

Gazes up slowly from examining a map I think the shop keep has plenty of ail for you my large and brutish friend my I suggest you inquire with him after I take a long drought of my tankard. Slilently laughing to myself as I myself purchased the last bit of ale, and I am enjoying it immensly.

Unruly Xiong |

Xiong looks at Hayman quizzically, a vein popping on his forehead. He examines him a moment before responding, "What do you mean by that? Huh? My men--oh, you worthless retch of an excuse of a--Gah!... That was actually pretty good. Fine, they've got enough ale. They call me Xiong. Unruly Xiong. Anyone who comes back with fight is okay by me. We'll be great friends or bitter enemies by the end of the night."

Felix Romilly |

Even with the gruff exchange between the rather large fighter and the much smaller bard, Felix doesn't seem to pay much attention to the argument. Instead his eyes remain focused on the map in the half-elf's hands.
Stepping away from where he had been leaning against the wall he moves across the room, stepping unconcerned between the two who seem to have switched from confrontation to ribald humor quite quickly, simply giving them a small nod as he passes.
Without warning, he draws out a quill and small pot of ink from his pouch, even in the clutter of of his bags he obviously knows just where that is at all times. Leaning over the rogue's shoulder, he brushes the point of the quill against his tongue and then dabs it into the ink, already moving to modify the map without waiting for permission, chattering cheerfully as he does.
"I think you'll find that there is a very useful copse of trees off the trail over here. I was walking down this way as I came into town and spotted some movement in the brush up here." He shifts to try and add this to the layout as well, working in tiny detail on the large scale map.
"With the sun like it was that was a pretty obvious place for an ambush and the trees gave great cover so I could keep an eye out. They were cottonwoods, the trees; not the bandits of course, and since those have a shallow root system you know that water won't be far beneath the soil if you need to find something to drink. Nor do I mention their shrub like low hanging leaves which provide such wonderful cover! All in all an excellent place to get out of sight and hunker down as long as you need to in order to keep an eye on the comings and goings of the road unseen."
As he says that he pauses for a moment and rubs his chin, considering. "Come to think of it, its probably lucky I didn't barrel straight into some bandits in that brush. It would have been a much better spot for them."
Shrugging his shoulders slightly he finally slows in his rapid lecturing and offers out a hand. "Bad manners to sketch and run, hm? Name is Felix. Nice to meet you."

Anyone who comes back with fight is okay by me. We'll be great friends or bitter enemies by the end of the night."
Hayman gives Xiong a half smile and waves the barmaid over. As soon as he gets her attention, the bard says in a non-chalant way to the burley fighter, "Its good you backed down Xiong... I would hate have to get unruly."
Hayman orders Xiong a drink, giving him a sidelong glance to see how he responds.

My hands drawing to my belt out of practiced habit as my map is being modified Hey what are you... oh I see my you are a useful fellow arnt you, what did you say your name was again Thinking that this fellow could be quite annoyingly useful as that would make the perfect ambush spot of even a long term forward tracking position. [Would you care to explain this to me in more detail? Perhaps a drink while we dicus the finer points of the surrounding area knowledge is power after all and perhaps our collaboration could be quite fruitful for the both of us[/b] Smiling motioning for another tankard to be brought over Dont worry about the drink it is on me

Felix Romilly |

Felix smiles warmly at the half-elf, even more when a drink is offered and he nods his head. "Why thank you, my friend. I must admit that my purse has gotten quite light of coin on the journey here. I greatly appreciate the drink. My name was Felix good sir, and what of yours?"
He pauses and takes the mug from the barmaid with a grateful nod, taking a long draw from it as if he were rather thirsty. "I have to admit that I haven't gotten a great grasp of this town, I am newly arrived here, chasing after some hints I picked up. Great things to see here! Great things!"

jeod |

Continuing to smile pleased at the arrival of the new fellow my name is jeod good sir an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance, think nothing of the drink my pleasure the ale is quite good. as i smile at the odd fellow say felix what great things are there to see here i have heard strange tales, whispers really but nothing of any substance I'm sure an individual such as your self has more specific information would you care to share I'm dieing to know thinking how much information can I garner from him.

Unruly Xiong |

Xiong accepts the offer and sits down. "Bah, nothing to worry about, unruly is my title and my job. Unruly Xiong, they called me back at home. I've smashed far larger taverns than this in my day! I even once smashed this one place, when the young man insisted he had no ale to sell. Imagine my embarrassment when, after the kitchen had been demolished and I made my way into the back room, I finally noticed the huge stores of drying tea. I had demolished a teahouse by mistake!"
He lets out a large guffaw.

Thorfinn Feigrsson |

Yawning and blinking, a red-haired and -bearded dwarf strides into the tavern. "ALE! And make it quick." He belches loudly, then covers his mouth and looks a bit embarrassed. "Pardon me. Far too much feasting yesterday."
Which is to say, the player had a house full of guests yesterday, and had to spend a lot of the day recovering from the house full of guests and cleaning up. I'll be quicker about posting now.

Thorfinn Feigrsson |

I admit to being amused when I saw the alias after your post about checking your work, but AFAICT it's a Law of the Internet that any post pointing out an error will itself contain an error, so I didn't mention it.

GM Kyle |

Welcome, Nolin. I will be inserting you shortly.
After this combat, I will be setting up combat differently. At the start of every round I will post all the enemies' attacks and actions and have you, the players, post your characters. I will roll initiative and all other mundane rolls. This way combat should move quickly.
Lastly, I want all players to post a new item in their profile listing a Primary, Secondary and Tertiary action they would take in combat with all the relevant rolls so if needed, I make the rolls for them based on the situation.

Hayman, The Military Bard |

I am kinda glad this happened as I was out int he desert and had very poor connectivity. I really thought I would be able to smart phone all my posts... that was not the case. When I go out there again, I will make sure I make a post so that the GM can make an attack for me if it is needed. at this ppoint in the game, its not like I have earth shattering sound magic that can alter the course of the universe.
:D

Thorfinn Feigrsson |

Give him time.
GM Kyle, if necessary please DMPC me today--posting may be kind of thin. The joys of getting older; I had a blood pressure spike a couple of nights ago, and though it wasn't anything damaging the docs still want to give me a stress test this morning. I've got time for a few posts before the sadists, er, techs arrive, but after that I'm not sure what I'll be able to do.

Thorfinn Feigrsson |

Fast progression is fine w/me, too. And I'm back among the living. The stress test was negative (so I have no stress? I don't think so...), I'm just supposed to cut way back on sodium and maybe get high blood pressure meds. Controlling it through diet alone would be best; I'll also keep track of potassium intake and probably hit the dried fruit a bit harder. On the whole, it could have been a lot worse.
