Block Initiative
There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting for someone to go when you’re next and they haven’t posted for days. To remedy this situation somewhat, all characters that go before the next enemy to act can post their actions in any order. Characters that don’t post after more than a day of waiting will be NPC’d.
Resolve Your Own Attacks
To speed combat up a little more, I will post the defences and saves of enemies. Roll your attack and damage at the same time and resolve your actions.
Be Descriptive
Play by post moves at a different pace than tabletop gaming. You have time to describe your actions—use it! Write out how your character performs actions, how they react to the unexpected, and what they are thinking.
Fight like a comic book character! Have a witty rejoinder for every punch and blow.
Co-operative Narrative
It is your campaign too. Add details to Korvosa. It’s a big city—there more shops and taverns than are detailed in any source book. All of your characters have spent time in the city. Let me know who you know. You can even provide dialogue for NPCs for routine interactions.
Coins
My one quirk in all the games that I DM is that I use the silver standard. This has no impact on game play—it is merely for flavour. What it does is make gold valuable again, reflecting its historic value and rarity. All prices are adjusted according to the table below. Copper and silver coins come in two sizes each.
Normal ____ My Rules ____ Name
1 cp ________ 1 cp ________ Pinch
1 sp _______ 10 cp ________ Plate
1 gp ________ 1 sp ________ Shield
10 gp ______ 10 sp ________ Sail
100 gp ______ 1 gp ________ Crown

So as for connections for Cardon...
I can see him being sympathetic to Eran when the man first started to petition the Acadamae, perhaps they met over ales. The priests of Sivanah might even have encouraged him to seek out Eran, Alika, and Allyph (for their own reasons that Cardon still may not know of).
All it would have taken is one mention of Lamm's name from Eran to get Cardon interested in helping take him out.
Cardon was no doubt at the Acadamae and out of Lamm's clutches when Lamm had Fane tortured.
Eran Bolmosa
That sounds good to me! The silver standard will be tough to get used to... But it seems like a cool idea! Also, thanks for picking me! Can't wait to get started! Also, Tolen might not be able to post till tomorrow evening, I think he said he is working overtime tonight.
Fane The Scarred
Just wanted to say thanks for picking me and glad to be on board! This is my 1st pbp so it might take me a bit to catch on, but I got people I can ask for advice. *Looks to Eran and Tolen*

I've played other PbP games before, but this is my first Pathfinder campaign. When I found out about Pathfinder, I first came up with a basic concept of this character. Then I set out to find a campaign she'd fit into. I found it here, and am very happy Allyph was chosen for it xD

Rolls
To speed things up in the future, could everyone make three sets of rolls?
20 d20 rolls - I'll use these for actions your character takes out of turn or would be unaware of the results (Perception checks, saving throws, etc.)
Initiative for the next combat - this gets it out of the way so combat can start quickly at any time.
Two d9 rolls - These are for a secret purpose. Bwah-ha-ha!
Like this:
Out of turn rolls: 20d20 ⇒ (18, 6, 8, 20, 15, 17, 5, 16, 5, 16, 17, 20, 5, 20, 7, 16, 7, 11, 2, 19) = 250
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Secret: 2d9 ⇒ (6, 7) = 13
Zellara Chemska
Fane slips into the shadows and searches around the outside of the house looking for a backdoor to let himself in through quietly.
If you take actions were you are uncertain of the outcome, roll the appropriate skill checks at the end of your post. Like this:
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 +1 to detect traps
Allyph Yssal
Okay, here we go:
Out of turn rolls: 20d20 ⇒ (15, 8, 17, 20, 14, 6, 10, 15, 11, 9, 20, 2, 14, 16, 17, 12, 18, 6, 20, 10) = 260
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
OH WOW SECRETS!!!!: 2d9 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Fane The Scarred
Out of turn rolls: 20d20 ⇒ (18, 20, 16, 1, 6, 2, 14, 14, 19, 3, 3, 5, 19, 6, 14, 7, 17, 17, 4, 16) = 221
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Secret: 2d9 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Cardon Quid
Ootr: 20d20 ⇒ (18, 19, 5, 15, 3, 11, 16, 16, 8, 7, 11, 13, 2, 3, 7, 16, 7, 6, 15, 3) = 201
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Secrets, yummmmmmm: 2d9 ⇒ (8, 3) = 11
Eran Bolmosa
OOTR's: 20d20 ⇒ (14, 5, 7, 16, 3, 6, 16, 9, 18, 6, 16, 12, 1, 8, 17, 2, 2, 13, 4, 2) = 177
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
CONFIDENTIAL: 2d9 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

Harrow Points
During this adventure, a character can spend Harrow Points in the following ways:
Dexterity Rerolls Spend a Harrow Point to reroll any one Initiative check, Reflex save, attack roll modified by Dexterity, or Dexterity-based skill check. You must abide by the new result (although if you have additional Harrow Points remaining, you can use them to attempt additional rerolls).
Dodge Bonus Spend a Harrow Point to gain a +1 Dodge bonus to your Armor Class for one encounter. You can spend up to 3 Harrow Points per encounter to increase your Armor Class in this manner.
Speed Increase Spend a Harrow Point to increase your base speed by 10 feet for one encounter—you cannot spend multiple Harrow Points to increase your speed multiple times in one encounter.

Oops. I made a mistake.
During my prep I somehow got messed up and thought that Tolen's alignment was CG, not LN. This meant that his personal harrow card should be The Forge, not The Big Sky.
I only realized the mistake when I was halfway through writing Tolen's reading, so I modified the reading to include a change in personality (and alignment according to the card) induced by his tragedy and drinking. Tolen, of course, is free to resume his LN nature. Sorry again for my little screw up.
As for the rather dark nature of the last two readings--sometimes that's just the way the cards fall. It's hard to put a positive spin on cards like The Avalanche and The Demon's Lantern.
Eran Bolmosa
Gotta say, the intro for this has turned out to be pretty cool. Also, Happy Thanksgiving every one! I probly won't post tomorrow, and if I do it will be rather late in the evening.
Allyph Yssal
Sure did :) Happy Thanksgiving!^^
Allyph Yssal
I live in the Netherlands.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving over here, but I wanted to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving anyway.
(Only ever seen it in movies, haha)
Tolen Meagle
Great opening! Thanks GM, I've tried to run this but always seems to get caught on the harrow readings. Seems that doing them through this medium would be a lot easier.
Fane, Eran, and I are in a PFS group and they play in my RoW campaign IRL that meets in Oregon. Thanksgiving was great on my end--just the wife, my parents, and I.

Definitely. If I had to do a harrow reading in real time it would be a nasty mess.
As it was, I drew all the cards before I selected the characters for the adventure. I then tried to select characters that matched up with the readings. It made writing up the readings much easier when the time came.

That's the best way to do it. Keep it small and simple.
Where are you in Oregon? We have friends in Bend.
Eran Bolmosa
Salem. Though my wife has family in Bend, and I am hoping to move there in the spring.
Thanksgiving dinner for me was 31 people. We went to my wife's aunt's house so her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her cousin's children were there. It was fantastic.

Decided to let Allyph go out as well for now. Felt like letting her do some more than just playing call center, haha :P

I am sorry guys. I didn't mention this before because I hoped it wouldn't be this bad. But I feel I must inform you all that my posting is going to slow down drastically until some time around Christmas. My work is balls to the walls busy for the next 16+ days and I am practically living there. Being off as early as I am right now is a miracle, one that I intend to fill with sleep after I catch up online. Please, DMPC me if I slow things down. I apologize for any inconvenience.

No problem. I understand. I'll have Eran follow Tolen's lead if you're not available.

I had planned for Allyph to be able to fly through magical means. That's why I spent a skill point on the skill fly when creating her sheet. However I assumed having the skill fly meant you can fly, which turns out it doesn't. Which means Allyph will have to wait until sorcerer level 3 to get the fly spell.
Also, I was told you can't even spend skill points on fly, unless you have means to fly. Would I be allowed to relocate the skill point I spent on the skill?

Yes you can re-allocate the skill point. You can also change your Skill Focus bonus feat if you like as well.
You should also change your spells per day. Allyph gets one bonus spell for her 19 charisma, not four.

Thank you! I decided to choose Stealth instead of Fly, also changing my Skill Focus to Stealth.

Yes, but the way that I always understood it, when a spell takes a full round to cast, it goes off the following turn. I could be mistaken, of course.
EDIT: Found this in the CRB on the PRD: A spell that takes 1 round to cast is a full-round action. It comes into effect just before the beginning of your turn in the round after you began casting the spell. You then act normally after the spell is completed.
Eran is right. I made a mistake--I should have caught it.
That being said, I'm reluctant to go back and change things. Knivesy and Giggles are still asleep and Eran's magic missiles hit Yargin.

Ah okay, good to know for the next time I'll cast sleep or another full-round spell :)

I will not be posting at all tomorrow. When I get off work tomorrow morning around 4am (after getting there at 5pm this evening), I have to immediately go home and get 3-4 hours of sleep so that I can drive back to the Dispatch Center 120 miles away to continue my employment testing for 3-4 hours, then drive back to be back at work around 6:30pm tomorrow evening, to work another 10-12 hour shift. I will be able to post once on Sunday, but I have church, my wife's birthday, and work that day so it will be a brief one. Then on Monday, busy season is over, and I will be back to regular posting, probably more than once per day.

Wow, that's a busy schedule.
I've been flat on my back these past few days with a nasty cold. I feel almost as bad as Giggles does right now. Sorry for the delays in posting.
Allyph Yssal
If Tolen doesn't post tonight, I will post for him and Hadric tomorrow. I'm open to suggestions as to what they should do.
I'd like them to try and convince the Lamms to not help Yargin fight the party. Or at least move toward Yargin to help take him down.
I'm hoping all the Lamms can be brought to safety, preferably all unharmed :)
Allyph Yssal
Sorry for the delay--it's been a little hectic with the holidays. I'll post an update later today.
Understandable :)
Allyph Yssal
I've only just realized I forgot to give Allyph a feat when creating her. Probably because she was my first Pathfinder character; when I started playing Pathfinder I mixed up traits and feats a couple of times. To correct this I've given her the Alertness feat.
I thought I should let you know, may you notice Allyph suddenly has a higher Perception and wonder why.
Allyph Yssal
Merry Christmas! :)
