Stig makes the shore. He hears crickets chirping; there is a disconcerting music to their symphony. They play music, these crickets, violinning on their legs; it is not just animal sounds.
Visions of a dusky brown man, head wrapped in cloth in a cave before a fire fueled by pungent camel dung; scrawling a book in thick lugubrious ink on camelhide.....tittering, and leaning from side to side, and saying, "Lala.....Lala....." as if begging for help.

It's about 20 by 20 feet of sandy beach; bordering a longish lagoon that heads north to the sea cave entrance that was walled in by fog, and south towards ???. At the southwest wall, there's the hallway you and the drow initially came in. The lagoon is walled in, generally 30 or so feet wide.

Beldan thrusts past the grappling hobbit; from the left of the rakshasa, he's able to give her one in the spleen and over into the liver. Copious blood running on the floor of the iron maiden, spraying the walls.

Oso calls on Kelanen to give him a magical sword, not a bastard but a rapier and then he casts spiritual weapon.
When the magical blade appears Oso points at the creature over Beldan's head.

cool. I vacillated a bit, but I figured the p.c.'s would "find a way" but yeah; this is pretty ruff. JJ in the AP adventure said this about rak's...they're either really tuff, or everybody has good rapiers so they've a big glass jaw. The bard has wupped her from casting though, and the rogue's stabbing her ass up, so they got to shine out....Altai messed her up pretty good too.

Stiggy has to row; the drow is no longer coherent. He's pretty much comatose. He rows on, and the lagoon goes on and on through a long wide hallway of cavernway. He rows for a goodly half an hour.
Up ahead, finally, the cavern opens up into a wide underwater lake. There's an islet in the middle; he can hear a fluting music coming from a single solitary form on the islet.
Dancing green embers like great fireflies light the promontory in the middle of the lagoon. It's about 250 feet across the lagoon to the islet.

Elgan Dreadwood |

Elgan (Elf) still carries a magic rapier, but I don't think he's actually USED it in combat yet! ;P PLus, it's getting pretty crowded over there, so I doubt that he could get in to take a shot. So he'll stand and guard the clicky-bug-sound door.
Elganbear shuffles back and forth slightly with anxiety and frustration. He obviously wants to help, but can't see a way to squeeze in to help. PLus teh noises from the door are making him nervous, and he doesn't want to leave his post and see his friends swarmed by a horde of killer insects.
HE settles for making boxing motions in the air with his huge paws, encouraging his teammates to victory!
Imagine a Dire bear, standing upright, making 'Rocky Balboa' motions,... yeah, that's me right now! ;)

I’d love a full attack (and had forgotten we were hasted) , but technically I’m not sure I can. I was in D2, I figure if she’s still in the iron maiden I’d need to be in B2 to attack her, which is more than a 5 ft step. I suppose I could attack her from C2, but Oso is there I think. At any rate, Beldan moved from D2 to B2 (the long way around just in case), so he only gets one attack.

gittik is at a2, oso at b2, and bel moved d2 to c2, so he can unleash a full attack.
Altai's at c3 on the altar, pip's at b3 right behind oso, and elgan's at ef 3-4, covering the door at f2.
So beldan gets the remainder of his full attack.
Then it's.....the rakshasa, and then a new round; during which Gittik can try to grapple the rakshasa...

At that point, the door at f2 busts in.
Two short green men rush in to e2 and f2, clicking their woodpecker sounds with their tongues at high speed.
Elgan gets an aoo on one of them, they stab him with glowing knives that seem to be extruded from their hands. One hits; Elgan takes 6 h.p. in damage.
There is also a "bamf" sound, and a repugnant stench of brimstone as a cloud of gouty smoke appears above.
15 feet up in the air, at c4, is a mindflayer in black leather wizard's cyberpunk zootsuit. He drops two more of the little green men, at d3 and b4;
one stabs at Altai with the glowing knife, stabbing the mage for 6 h.p.
The other stabs Pip, for 3 h.p.
Both Altai and Pip also get an aoo against their respective attacker, as it jumps to attack them.

Gittik doesn't have to grapple the dead rakshasa if he doesn't want to.

"Gack! What in the Nine Hells?" Altai jumps off the altar and zaps the flying illithid with burning acid. "Dibs on the 'flayer's overcoat!"
5' step to C2 before dropping a Melf's acid arrow on Mr. Tentacles. Concentration check 9+21=30, which is more than enough to avoid an AoO from the green guy in D3. Attack roll 14+8=touch AC 22, damage 7 acid. Additionally, as it is continuous damage, the flayer needs to make concentration checks to cast spells, use psionic abilities etc.
Also, who are the little green dudes? Knowledge (nature) 11+14=25.

They move so fast. Faster than rats, flashing out of the way. The hasted bear, though, moves pretty damn quick too, managing to land three blows to his opponent; the vegepygmy stands, though oozing blood or whatever passes for blood in these notmen, aye, blood or ichor, the color of split pea soup.
Gittik; Oso; and Pip are up to bat.
