What about the second one?
Will save for 2nd dog 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Berenwyr hit the 2nd dog with the full force of the color spray.Sorry everyone for the delay this weekend. I had an event heavy weekend and did not forget about you just was unable to post. Brief post this morning to let you know I am alive. Will post after work today.

Teodor Skov |

Assuming the dog is still up when Teodor turn comes, otherwise he ties up the sleeping dog
Teodor moves into flanking position while pulling his Waraxe and takes a mighty hack at the canine attacking Gareth!
1d20 + 5 - 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 - (2) + 4 = 9

GM Draxx |

that dice formula didn't come up as I expected, there was some commentary about the bonuses, but it is also wrong because it should've been +4 to attack (1 bab + 2 str + 2 flank -1 power attack)
I think what happened what there was a -1d10 in there so the dice generator rolled a d10 and came up with 2. I think you need to re-roll.

no it's ok, I'll take it as a miss

The dogs sinks it's teeth into Gareth. As Colin & Teodor attempt to help Gareth they try to attack the dog but come up a bit short, must likely because they do not want to hurt Gareth in the attack on the dog.
Gareth being throw off balance attempts to shake the dog off but the dog manages to keeps it's hold on Gareth's arm.
Ro'an focuses on the dog on Gareth's arm and attacks with his bone knife
attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The dog releases Gareth's arm and drops to the ground, unmoving from the attack by Ro'an.

Colin let himself catch his breath, then surveyed the action that had unfolded around him. The dogs looked like they might finally be at rest, and his companions seemed okay, although they may have been shaken from the entire ordeal.
"...Is everyone okay?" He asks in an attempt to break the silence.

Berenwyr |

Berenwyr calmly moves over to the dog he incapacitated with his spell and slices the creature's throat. As the thick blood wells out, he wipes the edge of his dagger clean on the beast's fur.
I am unharmed, but it looks as though Gareth took a nasty bite.
With a few words whispered in the Elf tongue, he sends his raven back into the skies to keep a watchful eye out for other approaching threats.
Singe Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Teodor Skov |

That was uncalled for Berenwyr, a lone dog wasn't any threat to our group, specially after we took down the leader.
Teodor shakes his head in disapproval as he approaches Gareth
That's going to leave a scar, but what is another stripe for a tiger?

Berenwyr |

I am not in the habit of leaving threats at my back, Teodor. These curs were desperate enough to attack despite our fire. We can only hope that they were not rabid. Disapprove all you like, but I'll not disregard our safety in the name of tender sentiments. On the bright side, if the mutts are not diseased, we have fresh meat for our supper! Now, shall I take the first watch or the last?

Berenwyr |

The bird is no threat to me, and even now watches for our safety. As for attracting predators, our fire may do that too. Would you have us put it out as well, or does extinguishing a helpless fire offend your sensibilities? Berenwyr waves his hand in a gesture of disregard, as if trying to discourage a pesky insect.
Bah! This is pointless. The dog is dead and evening deepens. Next time, I'll talk to you before I dispatch a stunned foe. Fair enough?

Colin nods and quickly trots over to the dwarf. He pulls the sleeves from his coat back and plants both his hands firmly on Gareth's wounded arm. He can feel the blood seeping out and collecting on his fingers, but ignores it and instead closes his eyes in some type of prayer. Within a few moments his hands begin glowing a pale green shade, and gentle wisps of energy emerge from them in all directions.
Calming Touch = 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
About 90 seconds pass of Colin clenching his hands around Gareth's arm, and the green energy slowly stops and dissipates. Colin opens his eyes, removes his hands and takes a step backward. "Does it feel any better?"

Berenwyr |

Very well, let's put the fire out. Most of us can see well enough in the starlight as it is. Anyone have a shovel? I'd hate to waste the water.
Berenwyr busies himself packing up his belongings and setting up his bedroll before the fire is extinguished, using his pack as a pillow.
So, Gareth will take the first watch, then Teodor. I assume Ro'an has no objection to the third watch. I only require six hours of rest myself and will take the fourth watch with Colin if he does not mind. An extra set of eyes never hurts, after all. Are we agreed?

As the sun rises o er the Cairnlands you each see The ruined siege castle now being called the Fallen Fortress rising out of the churned earth of the Cairnlands. No doors or windows mar the otherwise smooth expanse of the tower's walls. The tower is quatrefoil in plan; its eastern wing has largely collapsed, exposing the interior floors to the open air. Only the topmost level seems whole, though its eastern portion hangs precariously over the mountain of rubble left by the collapse. At ground level, the rubble frames a gaping hole in the side of the building that provides access to the tower's darkened interior.

Berenwyr |

Berenwyr Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Singe Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Berenwyr stands and examines the ruined tower and the surroundings as the sun rises in the east. He stretches and cleans himself from the water in the skins as he breaks his fast on trail rations.
When that is done, he takes out his spell book and spends an hour preparing his spells for the day while Singe hops about within arms reach, picking worms, bugs and seeds out of the soil with his beak.
0: Detect Magic, Ghost Sound, Read Magic
1: Color Spray, Grease, Silent Image
When he is ready, Berenwyr divests himself of the extra weight of one wineskin and one water skin.
Well gentlemen, it looks as though there is a convenient aperture there in the east wall from which to make our entrance. Shall we try to scout it out before we approach en masse?

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Colin takes a look around as well. He had gotten a decent night's sleep, and had been especially content given that he had been able to aid one of his fellow adventurers. He decided not to leave anything behind, thinking it was never a bad thing to come prepared for whatever might be inside.
I don't mind that either. Perhaps we can find an easier way to get inside.

Teodor Skov |

Teodor comes back from a trip to the bushes, finds a rock to sit down, chews on some rations and washes it down with water.
Gathers the rest of his belongings (including his starknife, which he secures to his belt) and stuffs them into his backpack.
Teodor approaches Berenwyr and Gareth we shall find out soon enough... staring at the ruins in front of them.
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

GM Draxx |

Everyone sees that the tower stands 80 feet tall.
masonry walls and would be extremely difficult to climb where the walls still stand.
The rubble in front of you is difficult train. It is from the walls above that have cumbered when the earthquake hit this area. All areas of the tower are dark expect for the areas that are now exposed to the outside. The area that is open to you that can be seen has ceilings approximately 15 feet high.
Alright everyone the map of the area is up. I made it as simple as possible and have included your characters. If you would like to move, please let me know the number of squares and the direction. Example: 2 squares west, 1 square north. Compass is in the left hand corner. Please let me know if you have any questions not the layout.
Alright everyone, time to explore and find what you are looking for. :)

Berenwyr |

Berenwyr stoops and picks up a small rock from the ground, then turns to Colin.
Will Erastil favor us with his holy light? The elf holds the rock out to the halfling in hopes that he will cast an orison of light on it.
While he waits, Berenwyr casts Detect Magic on the rubble before the group and scans it for any magical auras or emanations.

![]() |

Colin looks up at the walls, shaking his head. Well, there's no way we'll be closing those walls, then. That doesn't give us many options for getting inside.
The halfling begins walking toward the rubble when he hears the elf speaking to him. He smiles, happy to oblige. Lord Erastil always gives favor to those humble enough to ask of it. He closes his eyes, mouthing a silent prayer to cast Light, and within a few moments the area is cloaked in soft, gentle light.

Teodor Skov |

Teodor pulls out his Starknife, ready to throw it in case of threats, he then kneels and takes a hard look at the ground around him, looking for signs of intrusion.
The earthquake probably caused a lot of dust, it should be easy to tell if anything made it in before us, or out...
