I was mistaken last round, my AC should have been two higher against both. It is now 23 against Asar and 20 against the skeleton.

Since Oloch seems to be stable and realizing if Zoey goes down they will be in a lot of trouble. Hullric touches Zoey's shoulder with his wand to heal some of her wounds.

Zoey smashes Asar's skull with her mighty shield bash. Asar stands there for a moment as though frozen, although only a few seconds later his bones collapse into the floor and come to rest.

In response, the remaining honor guard, no longer having his charge, simply stands there passively, oblivious to anything around him.

Now that Asar has been destroyed, you turn your attention to Oloch and Zoey, both of whom are carrying severe wounds from the wicked skeletons.

Feel free to heal up if you'd like

Catching your breath and looking around, you see an unconscious women laying on the open sarcophagus. You also see the everflame lantern hanging over the sarcophagus. Among Asar's bones you see some sort of magical glowing stone.

This item can cast Continual Flame once per month, but only when placed inside of a lantern.

@Hullric, I totally didn't even think of that when I was writing the item, I just didn't see anything in the book for how you're supposed to light the everflame lantern so I made that item up, sorry.

Reggie lets out a whoop of victory as Zoey knocks some sense out of Asar. He's about to do the same for the last member of the honor guard when he realizes that it's just standing there. He debates for a few moments. Is there any such thing as a good, or even not bad animated skeleton? Probably not, but it just doesn't seem right pounding something that is showing no aggression.

Rowdy makes his decision for him, though not in the way the wolf wants. The animal lunges at the skeleton but the unfairness of it tips Reggie over the edge and he reins his mount in.

The little knight puts away his sling staff and leans over his pommel, panting with the effort of the battle.

As Hullric goes through the process of healing up those who took the brunt of Asar's wrath, Reggie clambers up on the sarcophagus, careful not to disturb the woman and pulls down the fancy special lantern.

@Hullric - Feel free to retcon that you're using Reggie's wand for some of those CLW hits. You shouldn't have to be the only one spending charges. In fact, I had another game where we all just gave the healer our wands at the beginning and she divided up the charges used evenly at the end. I'm good with chipping my wand in for that here, too, assuming the GM's ok with it.

Sharing wands is okay with me. And don't worry about it Oloch, I got my wand for situations like this. I just suggest you use your 2 PP you get from this adventure to purchase your own Wand of CLW for you next adventures.

Satisfied that he has healed most of his companion's wounds, he goes to the unconscious lady and uses his wand once more before putting it away.

Hullric helps the woman up, "We took care of the skeleton man. He won't bother you anymore. As for your brother, we did run into a guy we had to knock him out for he wouldn't stop attacking us. When Hullric lights the lantern, a spirit rises up from the ground. Based on the previous imagery you've seen before in the Crypt, this is the spirit of Kassen.

"AH HEROES, THANK YOU FOR PUTTING AN END TO ASAR.", he then clears his ghostly throat, "Whoops, sorry, been a while since I've been able to speak to the living, didn't mean to shout out you old chaps!." he says as he tries to slap Hullric on the back but phases right through.

"Here, let me reward your heroism and deeds with gifts from my own adventuring days." he says as he begins to pull items out from his sarcophagus.

"Ah here you go, a bag of holding type 1, a +1 bashing shield, and a water elemental gem. Oh, and you should each have a scale from my old scale mail armor, in memory of destroying the evil in my crypt. When you're need is greatest, the scale will bestow the greatest of luck."

Kassen scratches his ghostly beard as he thinks,"Probably not, I'd say. Those skeletons there look like ones he brought to defend himself specifically. I reckon the only reason it stopped moving is because it has no commands and cannot defend its fallen master any longer.

Tell you what though, I could go for a bit of stretching my legs and it has been far too long since I've been adventuring. Now that Asar's curse is gone from my spirit, I can move freely about this place. Might be a bit of fun to go around bashing these undead to bits." he says while shadow boxing the air.

He then nods to the other ghost. "And to you, Stigand, I hope you find happiness here. I am sorry that we did not do more to protect you."

He salutes them both with his sword before having Rowdy amble out of the chamber.

He'll be on the lookout for anything they didn't explore along the way, though.

Was there another room? I didn't see any place unexplored on the map but I didn't look too close. If there's any place they didn't check out, Reggie will vote for exploring it, but won't argue too hard if the majority of the party isn't interested.

In that case, you bring the brother back to consciousness and take him and his sister to the entrance where they inform you that they can make it back to the village on their own.

The party rests and as they do, Stigand manages to focus his mind's might into a more corporeal form.

@Stigand, if you'd like to continue playing, and since the main quest is over, you are more than welcome to play as a phantom from the spiritualist class. You are, however, tethered to the Crypt and cannot leave it.

New Stats:
Type: Outsider; HP 6 Speed 30ft; AC: +2 Natural armor; Attack 2 slams (1d6 or 1d4 if size Small); Ability Scores Str 12, Dex 14, Con 13, Int X, Wis 10, Cha 13. (X=Stigand's INT score). Skill ranks and class skills are the same as Stigand's but with these new ability scores. You have DR 5/Slashing. You have +1BAB. You have darkvision 60ft. You have the Kindness emotional focus, this gives you +2 fort saves, +2 reflex, and +0 will (these replace your class save bonus, your +2 will for a wizard).

You also have the 2 following abilities:

Benevolent: When the phantom uses the aid another action, the bonus granted by a successful check increases by 1. If the phantom aids the spiritualist this way, the bonus instead increases by 2.

Opening Strike (Su): As a standard action, the phantom can make a melee attack against a foe. If this attack hits, the spiritualist designates one ally threatening that enemy. This ally can make a single attack at his full base attack bonus against that enemy as an immediate action.

You are in no way obligated to play this, but I'd love to give you something to do for the remainder of the adventure.

When the party comes back to the west door on the bottom floor, Zoey opens it. This new chamber has a number of recesses carved into the walls and a fissure in the ceiling. When you look up, you see hundreds of bats hanging on the ceiling, and upon seeing you, they begin to swarm over the party!

Reggie tries to imagine skewering one of those bats with his fancy new lance and sighs. Then, he contemplates cutting them with his sword and sighs again.

"Should have bought a fancy one of these," he mutters as he pulls out his sling staff.

"You've probably got as good a chance as anyone, buddy," he calls as Andy pulls out the alchemical fire.

He and Rowdy rush past and he takes a swing.
