"The nation of Qadira has always been a land of tales. From the lowliest beggar to the Satrap himself, all appreciate a good story. That is why you come to me isn't that so, stranger, to hear a story unlike any other? A story of perilous sands, dangerous beasts, and a lost city of uncountable treasure? Well, you have come to the right place, friend. Please, sit down and listen for a while, while I tell a tale of wonder and horror, of weal and woe. Perhaps in hearing such, you may find aught worth remembering..."
-Blind Yusuuf, Former Adventurer and Scribe
Where would everyone like to start in Katheer? Everyone post your current location, introduction to your character in a descriptive text regarding their activities, and find a reason to head to the marketplace.
Nikole Alicer
Among the stalls of the marketplace is a young lady, her pretty face hidden underneath a hood and a translucent blue veil. Green eyes sparkle with intelligence as she scrutinizes the various wares on display, but pays special attention to one in particular. A start-up merchant named Karlo can be found in one of the stalls, selling various potions she has brewed a month before.
I do hope Karlo stays in the family service, he's very good at convincing people the necessity of our potions. He looks quite striking too, despite his age.
Karlo bows to Nikole in respect as she passes by and she nods in acknowledgement and gestures with her hand, a traditional sign of a job well done.
Nikole moves along, her small pack clinking with her potions and extracts, on a path that was not familiar to her but somehow felt right anyway.
Kaerlic
Kaerlic strolls through the marketplace, attempting to act casual and unafraid. Behind his inscrutable face is discomfort, this is first time returning to the city since his father's death. His pouch is heavy with gold, earned from his time as a guide, and he wanders the stalls searching for supplies.
As he looks through the wares available from an old friend, enjoying the anonymity that comes with his extended absence, he hasn't been recognized in three days. He moves away from the stall, unsure of where to go next and continues on his way through the market.
Grizz Yellowbeard
Between jobs, the golden-maned dwarf patrols the market, looking for collectors of unique objects and artifacts. Grizz's clothing seems a little worn and everything he has appears to have a fine layer of dirt or grime on it. With a look of contentment on his face, accentuated with a smile, the friendly dwarf makes pleasant conversation with anyone who greets him.
Niccolo Avashan
The sun is such a bother.
Niccolo squints his eyes despite the shade provided by his wide brimmed hat. Perhaps, I might acquire a some tinted spectacles in the market. It is said that any thing can be purchased in the markets of Katheer. First, spectacles and then I must find a new patron. Living well requires so much gold.
The lithely muscled half-elf wanders through the bazaar trying to overhear gossip that could help him find a potential patron.
GM Watcher of Golarion
All is fair in the market on this day: the scent of spices waft through the air into a wondrous odor, the sky has a few clouds to block out some of the oppressive sun, and the markets are lively and bustling with people. As you are walking down the market, you hear what sounds like an old man yelling and screaming in a back alley. A few people look down the alley, but swiftly move past it, as if afraid they will get drawn into the situation.
Nikole Alicer
After hearing an old man shouting, Nikole looks around to find the source of the noise.
Is that a drow going into the alley? Oh no... no drow will harm the people of this town, not when they can be paying customers.
Nikole holds up her skirts as she follows the drow into the alley.
Kaerlic
Kaerlic hears the shouts of old men and immediately ducks into a nearby stall, waiting to see if the shouter is pursuing him. When it is obvious that the situation has nothing to do with his presence, he immediately sprints towards the commotion to see what is the matter.
