Columns line the walls of this small room, each decorated with a high-relief carving of a monkey in a different pose. Some of the monkey sculptures sit serenely in meditation or reach out with their hands as if to deliver blessings to the viewer, while others adopt more naturalistic poses. The floor is littered with decaying plant matter and mud, and the stench of rotting muck pervades the area. An open archway leads south out into the jungle, while a second leads north deeper into the temple.
As you enter the temple for the first time, you encounter a group of looters heading toward the exit at full speed. A female and two male humans, all armed, and carrying small sacks of spoils from the temple. They stop dead in their tracks at the sight of you and do not attack, but the female steps forward, "Name's Asvika. Out of our way if you know what's best for you! Let us leave this place quickly, and you won't come to any harm."

"A very important point, Sir Knight. I asked Venture-Captain Valsin that same question in our briefing, and he was not aware of any current claims on this temple and its contents. We must report our findings to the government, but I do not believe we would be violating any laws by exploring the temple and collecting its contents. Though if the rightful owner does turn up and exercise his claim, we would of course return any belongings we found."

Seeing they are outnumbered and fighting may not be the best course, Asvika turns to the other two and nods, signaling them to drop their bags. "You can have what's in the bags, just let us get out of this place. There's an evil lurking here at the heart of the temple that I would rather not see ever again."

"Way I see it, you might make out with a little extra coin and a little lighter bags to carry out, we have a better chance of getting what we came for, you scratch our backs by letting us know what to expect, and we each walk away to do better things."

Asvika does her best to describe what she saw, but is in such a hurry to leave, that her description is a bit vague. She tells you of a pair of creatures with bodies of a well-muscled man, a crown of frilled horns, and eyes that glow like rubies. "Please, can we just leave this place now? If you want to give us coin for what we acquired within, so be it. Just be quick about it."
Sir Ninn de Hawtey

"I cannot pay a possible thief to return goods. That would be condoning--even supporting--a potential crime. What I will do is make sure that these items are properly cataloged and reported to the appropriate authorities. If she wishes to make a claim with them, I will testify to what I know on her behalf."

Hate to see you guys waste gold when there's no need. They really just drop the loot bags in return for letting them go.
You allow the looters to flee, leaving behind their bags of loot. You find several gems and holy symbols, as well as an apple made of solid gold.
In the next chamber, a mosaic of a monkey-faced figure decorates the floor of the room, though the tiles that would form its eyes are missing. The north end of the room is filled with rubble blocking an arched passageway. To the west, vines and foliage intrude into the temple through an open-air balcony, while a similar balcony to the east remains relatively clear of plant life. An open archway leads south.
Continuing to the open balcony, a narrow path extends between the exterior wall of the temple and the thick web of vines and tree branches that cover the temple’s walls. At either end of the path, small open-air balconies lead back into the temple.
As you make your way back into the temple, you see A 20-foot-tall, high-relief sculpture of a mountain dominates the north end of this large chamber. A statue of a figure now missing its head sits in the lotus position at the mountain’s peak, while smaller statues of monkey-faced pilgrims rest on ledges farther down the mountain. Shattered pieces of yet more monkey statues litter the floor.
The southern half of the room is filled with rubble, obstructing an arched passageway to the south. In the center of the room, a small enclosed shrine made of dark brown stone faces south toward the rubble. A hallway to the west leads to a balcony overrun by foliage, while a hallway to the east leads to an open balcony.
Can I get a perception check from everyone.

Darathys is disappointed in seeing his allies choosing diplomacy over sheer force, but he hunches and go along with their choice. As the looters pass near to him while leaving, he cannot avoid whispering a dreary threat. "My friends are nice. I'm not like them. Just try and come back here while we're still in, and I promise you will regret that."
---
"Mmmh...missing heads from both the monkey tiles and the statues. Seems likely they contained gems in place of eyes, and they were looted", thinks aloud Darathys as he explores the temple together with his allies.

Beckett fires an arrow that almost seems to change direction in mid-air, as if some divine being willed it to strike true. Though the arrow hits of the creatures, the wound instantly heals itself til only a small trickle of blood seeps out. Right before the other outsider can fire its bow, the temple reverberates with the wrathful screeches of monkeys that seem to originate from nowhere in particular. The screeching makes the demons seem quite uneasy, though it still manages to hit Riceak with another arrow.

Rules question for you experienced GMs! I can't find where it's written, but if an attack were to do 0 damage or less, it instead does 1 point of non-lethal, is that correct? I swear I remember seeing that somewhere.
Sir Ninn de Hawtey
|

That is correct. It is also possible to kill targets with Nonlethal Damage. It's also worth noting that this does not necessarily work with DR, as only "penalties to Damage that reduce it to zero" count.

Ninn determines that the creatures are evil as draws a wand and moves up. Darius hurls a javelin, but it hits the wall instead of the asura. The cleric fires an arrow, but the creature easily dodges it and it falls harmlessly to the ground. Just then, monkeys pour in through the temple’s many openings and mob the asuras. Though the simians don't seem to actually cause any harm, they successfully disarm the outsiders and carry off their weapons. One of the pair clambers down the wall, moving over to Ninn and lashing out with a stinger, but it bounces harmlessly off her his plate armor.
