Oh! Guess I was found out for not reading the party's profiles. I'm sorry.

My fault, should have put the full name in the profile but posted to many times to change it now

We'll probably need a couple Aid rolls on the Diplomacy check. I'm just guessing, but I imagine the DC is 15ish. Unfortunately I'm really bad at Diplomacy or I'd help.

Rhiannon looks at you all, taken aback by the sudden questioning from you all she stands haughty, in that true aristocratic style as she regards you all.
"I heard a scuffle of sorts in the cemetary, over by the cursed bust at the Tolliver mausoleum, you can tell as it talks when someone looks at it. I hid with my horse to avoid a sour fate and then I saw you making your way over. Did you murder someone?"
Are you here for the treasure? I can help, you don't have to kill me"
Much of her story rings true, though she is holding back, unsurprising giving the circumstances. She is sincere about helping you

![]() |

"Murder! Murder my dear! Well I never ... The thought of it. Right, best we stick together in case there are any rascals roaming rampant around ... this place of ... remembrance. Strength in numbers and all, we shall be glad of your noble company"
Sabretache puts away his shield and goes to link arms with the woman if she will allow.
"Lead on my lady! Tell me about yourself! Ooo and this talk of treasure and curses, how exquisitely exciting. You must tell us more. And what is your horse called? A regal mount for so regal a woman."

![]() |

Aleric hangs back, not wanting his... Presence to give her reason to be wary. Varisians have a reputation, after all.

Haska will walk back to the body and attempt that heal check from earlier. Interested to know what killed the man.

![]() |

Khismia heads back with Haska to investigate the corpse further. "Leave the talking to the others, I say. Dealing with frightened girls isn't worth my time. Does anything stick out to you, Haska?" She kneels down and looks closer at the man's wounds. "These stab wounds are deeper than a dagger or knife, but too wide to be a rapier. Most likely a shortsword of some type. These marks on his face look like hawk talons; I had an incident while falconing once that left similar scratches." Khismia looks back to the others speaking to Rhiannon.
"Isn't the sign of House Sarvio a raptor? Was the Sarvio woman carrying a weapon?" she whispers to Haska.

Rhiannon nods graciously and stands next to Marius, allowing him to take her arm as they walk across to the other mausoleum, she still seems wary but her edginess softens slightly as you talk to her a reassure her that you are not the killers.
"Yes, strength in numbers is for the best, I will help you with the Mausoleum treasure if you let me go? My horse is named Zephyr, for he is as swift as the wind itself. Hmm? Yes the Bust is by the Tullivor Mausoleum, all the town know about his talking bust and strange curse. Rumour has it that the bust is a clue to being rid of a nasty trap."
You stand before the bust at the Tullivor Mausoleum and once more it speaks to you:
"“When the last sun falls upon this spot, receive my thanks”
It is getting towards evening now as you study the Bust and the young man's body and the sun is beggining to set in the sky, in setting sun casts a shadow over the talking bust, a shadow cast by the Spire atop the Saarvio's Mausoleum.

![]() |

Did the last of the day's sun fall on the bust spot? knowledge nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Does it seem the shadow will pass over?
"Maybe we should inspect the tomb door?
perception door area: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

![]() |

Peering at the setting sun and their surroundings, Haska's connection with the natural world allows her to deduce that if it were not for the Spire of the Sarvio tomb, the light of the setting sun would indeed strike the bust, the shadow blocks out the sun from striking the Bust.
It would appear that Sarvio's spire may need to be toppled to break the riddle, Haska checks the door and notices to even her untrained eye the makings of a powerful trap on the doors. The doors themselves seem very hardy and difficult to break.

![]() |

"By my reckoning, the spire of that tomb must be removed to allow days last light on the bust. Further, the door is stout and will take a great deal of work to break."
Just a side note, Haska is male though not the most masculine of specimens.

![]() |

"Rather than destroying a tomb, perhaps we could use a mirror to cast some light onto the bust?" Khismia turns to Rhiannon. "Mistress Sarvio, would you happen to have a mirror we could borrow?"

![]() |

Sorry Haska! I must admit I didn't look at gender, purely at the picture which looks fairly feminine on a phone!
Rhiannon is shocked at the idea her family's Mausoleum needs to be desecrated, and is about to object when Khismia speaks, her train of thought interrupted.
"No... I don't have a mirror, not that I feel a hand mirror would help here, but my family's Mausoleum! It would be sacrilege!"
She is unsure and mumbles the last part, looking between you all as if asking you to find another way.
Haska feels that removing the obstacle in the setting Sun's path would be the easiest way without magic, Patros notes that it would be difficult to push the thing over as it is very heavy, but he does spy a weak point at the base of the spire that could be smashed away.

![]() |

Khismia nods sadly, then brightens up. "Wait, I just remembered I have a small mirror in my pouch! We could focus a bit of sunlight onto the statue and see if that's enough. Why not try that before destroying a monument?"
Mirror strike lists a small mirror as a costless material component, thus my spell component pouch contains one, as well as a small prism used for read magic. It's little, but we could try that before smashing stuff. Maybe a little bit of sunlight would be enough?

![]() |

Alericwill check the trap on the door to see if he could bypass it.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

Sven digs a mirror out of his bag and tosses it to Khismia. "Here, take my mirror. Those things they give you in the spell component stores? Worthless. They barely reflect anything. Try not to break it though, I use it for shaving. When I get too scruffy, I tend to scare small children."
He looks up at the top of the mausoleum. "I wonder if there's any way up top to get in? It's a long shot, but I have a grappling hook and some rope, if we wanted to take a look."

![]() |

Whilst Patros begins to doff his armour and Sven and Khismia converse about the properties of their various mirrors, Aleric strolls over to the Tulliver Mausoleum and spends some time examining the door and the obvious trap embedded into it.
Just like Haska before them it does not take Aleric long to discern the location of the Mausoleum's trap for it appears almost too obvious. Comparing his own skill to that of the mechanism,, Aleric is quickly lost at the complexity of the Trap.
Meanwhile, Patros climbs the Mausoleum with ease and his thoughts are vindicated once he is up there. The Spire is tall white marble and looks rather heavy. He doesn't think he could climb the actual spire as it is unblemished and comes to a point.
If you wish to push it, Make a strength Check, if you wish to smash it, you can attack the weak point and it would just take a while.
Down at the bottom, Rhiannon gets near hysterical as Patros climbs her family's mausoleum.
"You can't destroy the Spire, my families' legacy...my...my... family"
Diplomacy to try and calm her down

Hey, don't worry-we're not going to hurt anything. And honestly, I'm not sure why you aren't more worried about the corpse right in front of the mausoleum. I mean...aren't those things supposed to be inside it?"[/b]

![]() |

"Uhh...Khismia, didn't you say that there were talon marks on that guy? I think Patros just found the cause of them..."
Sven draws his axe again and looks around to see if anyone else is nearby.

As Rhiannon calls her hawk to attack, a grimace forms on Sven's face. He takes a step up to her, his handsome face seeming to morph into a mask of rage. He hefts his axe menacingly. "Enough of this. Moved you ^^. Oh, something I forgot to mention in my post before, sorry. If you are readying actions and the like, it is easier to put them in a spoiler just so that the rolls and such have already been made, to not slow things down ^^

![]() |

Moved myself next to Rhiannon. Since she has not yet acted in combat, she should be flat footed, yes? That means my attack includes sneak attack damage. If I hit.
Aleric slips up alongside the panicking woman and swings his short sword, trying to club her in the temple with the ring pommel.

Aleric, unfortunately you can't do nonlethal sneak attacks with a lethal weapon. However, since she's flat-footed, she can't make an attack of opportunity when you make an unarmed attack. So you'll only do 1d3+1d6 damage, but you don't take the -4 penalty to hit.

![]() |

Aleric steps up to the scared woman and attempts to strike her unconscious with the flat of their short-sword, however he feels the tell-tale sign of armour under the blow, weakening the strike and causing nothing but discomfort.
Rhiannon backs away from the sly Varisian and terrifying Ulfen, her shaky hands unhitching a loaded crossbow from her belt, beneath her cloak. Haska then lets fly, the elf's dagger scoring a solid hit with some definite bruising.
Pointing her cross bow at you she lets fire at the Bird-Slayer Patros and lets a bolt fly, striking the man

Aww. And as I pointed out above, you can't sneak attack for nonlethal damage with a lethal weapon, either Aleric attacks to kill and skips the -4 penalty for dealing nonlethal with a sword, or he sneak attacks with his fist for nonlethal and skips the -4 penalty and doesn't worry about an AoO, or he doesn't sneak attack and deals nonlethal with his sword at the -4 penalty.

I forgot I have point blank shot. I missed damage I could have done. Still getting used to this character.
Haska draws his rapier and moves to get between Rhiannon and her mount.
"It is regrettable you still won't relent. You can't win, Murderer!"
I suggest the gloves come off. This is an armored, hardened foe not a damsel in distress.

Patros, I think you might just need to scroll down to the bottom of the map. I had the same issue.

You are at the base of the Map, also, Patros you need to climb down which is a DC 15 climb check to move at quarter speed. It is 15 foot high - with those rolls you could clear the DC 20 to move at half speed so you could reach her this turn, but not attack.
Although terrifying, Sven's axe swing fails to back up his previous promise to the outnumbered Noblewoman, Sabretache re-equips himself, ready to tackle her should he need and Haska re-positions herself.
Finished with Triumph, Patros quickly scales down the Sarvio Mausoleum and rushes to his companions aid, although surrounded, Rhiannon still seems to have some fight in her. Dropping her spent bow, she steps back and draws her Shortsword, still specked with blood, and lashes out at Sven, nicking the Ulfen Warrior.
