Jiro is pierced through his right shoulder by the sharp barb of the dragon's tail. "By the might of Taldor!" he exclaims as he places his hand on the wound, feeling the warmth of blood gushing from his body.

"I'm not ready for this!" Having no rapier, wearing studded leather and lacking his arcane focus, Jiro is direly unprepared for combat. As he is already injured, he takes a step back out of reach of the animals and adopts a defensive stance.

The west Amphiptere's tail lashes out at Crowe as he moves to engage the creature, but misses the barbarian as it swings wildly. Note: due to his starting position, the center Amphiptere should have gotten a swing as well (no cover on Crowe's former square). I missed that earlier, however, so I'm not taking that attack.

Ingrge & Crowe combine their efforts to take down the western dragon in a cascade of blood and scale. Nalina's claws savage the center Amphiptere, but her bite fails to gain purchase & her attempt to grab the creature fails. Pethwen & Rivani's attacks go wide of their targets.

The Amphiptere Nalina is fighting responds with a flurry of teeth, claws & tail attacks, but only the tail connects. 6 damage to Nalina

Whether attracted by the tinkling bells of Pethwen's voice or her lack of armor, the eastern Amphiptere finds her highly attractive and tasty. It charges in with its bite attack and takes a large bite out of her, but she manages to twist out of its viselike mouth before it can lock on. Crit damage of 8 to Pethwen (rolled so bad) & a missed grab attempt. It has several party members threatened now, so keep that in mind as you take your turns.

Nalina, my inexperience with Shifters is showing: I'm not sure how you are getting 2d4 damage on your claws. I see 1d8 for tigers and I'm not seeing any class features or feats you have that would raise it. Let's not stop the action, but let's look at that too.

I missed Crowe's action for a while and was waiting for them. Oops.

Crowe is able to finish off the Amphiptere attacking Nalina, and she turns to savage the one fighting Pethwen, ending the assault.

As you strike down the dragons, you realize quickly that their hides, talons and scales might be useful for crafting new equipment. Each Amphiptere can be used with the Craft Tools advantage to make a masterwork version of one of: piercing weapon, slashing weapon, light armor, medium armor.

If you move to examine the small body that the Amphipteres dropped when you arrived, you will find that it is Ramagh, one of the halflings from Team Ebanasi. They are very dead. The halfling has a makeshift bundle attached to their clothing that contains two intact waterskins with a non-water liquid inside.

Detect Magic & Spellcraft 19:
The waterskins hold two infusion extracts of Cure Moderate Wounds.

You can stop after an encounter if you want to, but I don't think I beat you guys up nearly enough for that. Don't forget to recover whatever hp you want to spend resources on. When you are ready to move on, you can enter hex 12. We're still in Phase 2 of Day 1 and you have 5 progress left for the phase. That's enough to complete hex 12. Which hex would you like to go to next?

I think crafting would be a good use of our time this travel period. It will cut their ability to move in half, so Nalina may as well gather supplies at the same time, since we have just enough to get us through the current day, and hopefully that means the next day we can do two full-speed phases. So, anyone with any kind of craft skill can do two crafting checks for the phase, and anyone else should focus on making checks to increase the group's speed. Seem reasonable?

If that's agreed upon:

Survival (gather food/water): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 What a waste of a nat 20!

Warhammer Game Notes & Maps

The party spends the remainder of Day 1, Phase 2 travelling through the entirety of hex 12 and moving one progress (3 remaining) into hex 13.

Day 1, Phase 3 begins (Forced March)

Everyone make Fortitude saves for the beginning and end of the travel phase. I think Pethwen may be negating them, so if she casts the appropriate roll before your post, you can stop and any failed saves will be ignored. Nalina needs to make the saves, but I'll otherwise take her check for Gather Supplies above. Nalina, if you could note the result of your check in a post below this one that would be great. Sometimes I forget to look above my post an action that should be taking place after I call for the check.

I'm here. Thursdays are my busy days.

Why is Crowe saying that he cannot Craft? Craft is not a trained skill (just an Int check if you are untrained). Nalina is right that everyone can make two Craft checks for each phase the character spends doing Craft Tools. Plus, if the point of this phase is to craft & gather supplies, Crowe using an advantage for travelling faster would consume an advantage and take away a possible item that you guys could make.

Currently, the results for the phase are at:
Crowe Notice Shortcut +1 progress
Rivani - not sure what check, but fail -1 progress

If you guys wanted to make gear, though, probably everyone should be making their own Craft Tools checks or Gather Supplies checks. You could assist instead, I guess, but most characters are so bad at Craft that it makes sense to get a bunch of d20 rolls in and hope for something high. Making progress while you do either of the other tasks is inefficient because anything you do gets halved.

I've pointed to a table for the Craft DCs, but never posted them yet. Simple melee is DC 12, Martial melee is DC 15, Exotic melee is DC 18. Armor & shields are 10 + AC bonus. See page 93 of the Core Rulebook for the full table or the Craft entry if our page counts are off. Specify whether you are making masterwork items out of the Ampipteres or not.

Since there seems to be confusion about what you were allowed to do, I'll let Crowe take back his progress check if he wishes. Rivani had a failure, though, so that will have to stick. What skill check was that though?

I agree, everyone with at least a 12 in Intelligence should be attempting their own craft checks. If you have a negative Int mod, either help me gather some stuff or make an Aid Another check on the crafters.

Ok GM, thanks. Then I would take back the shortcut advantage. GM, one more thing: Pethwen and Pregens only assisted my perception roll. So if I can take that perception roll back then pregens failed check can be taken back, too? Crowe has negative Int mod. So he would aid. We have three advantages and thus three times two equals six craft checks. right?

Guess I'll go ahead and roll then...

Ingrge will work on a rapier for Jiro...if successful, he'll then work on armor for Crowe...

Seeing that Ingrge is working on a rapier out of the leftover materials from an Amphitere corpse, Jiro decides to aid the man in his construction. "Why don't we try using the spine instead of the claws, Gogulope?" he offers.

Craft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 :(

Seeing that his advice seems to be impairing the process, Jiro takes the leftover materials to try to piece something together.

Craft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

I think this is one advantage's worth.

If anyone else can assist Ingrge, then I think we can get me a rapier in the first half! Sadly my rolls are terrible!

Yeah, Pethwen & Rivani can redo their phase as well if they wish. I missed what was going on there.

I need Fortitude saves for Jiro. Crowe can do a second crafting aid and Rivani can do Craft checks still if they wish. The rapier and bardiche are both being completed at this point (masterwork quality off the Amphipteres). I'm reading Pethwen's second craft check as an actual check rather than an aid.

Okay, I checked the thread above now. Can I also make a check for myself to craft a breastplate armor? See the roll below as either aid if I cannot make an own check or as my own check for breastplate.

craft check aid or own (see above): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Finally, a good roll!

The long nights surprisingly take little toll on the elf, despite his weaker constitution than his compatriots. "Let's go, guys!" he yells as he brandishes an Amphetere rapier around.

Warhammer Game Notes & Maps

Two fort saves, Jiro. Crowe, you could make the check but that doesn't succed. Rivani still has a shot at it if they want to take it, though.
