"Ahhh, Calistria's tits," Thessaly snarls as the room erupts into a total slugfest-- obscured by mist. She dodges one attack on her, gets lucky with a second, and is quickly surrounded by a horde of violent Ulfen.

Just like the half-a-year she always used to spend with Daddy, she thinks grimly.

"Hey, Princessa!" she shouts back towards Dulcinea. "Let's knock this guy--" she jerks her had at the one that Dulcinea had hit already with her sap, "--out together. I go high, you go low!"

She waits for Dulcinea to distract him, then swings the butt end of her halberd at the man's skull.

As he smashes the head of the man who was looking like Hjort, Darathys grins, unsatisfacted. I should've learned to restrain myself.... But then, the brawlers in the tavern spits insults against him. Darathys cannot just hold back his fury, and all he's able to do is to vent his frustration against another enemy. «You don't know what you're facing!», he shouts as he lashes out with his greatsword.

Dulcinea almost wacks Mr. Seafoam, but the mist causes her to misjudge the depth, and she misses. It is enough distraction, however, to allow Thessaly to know him to the ground, and he won't be getting up soon.

Kayanor dispatches Mr. Plum, and Lini helps set up the next foe to fall, should Kayanor take advantage of it.

Darathys slices into Mr. Green - a hair to the left, and he would have cleaved him in to two separate pieces. As it is, Mr. Green lies on the floor, bleeding to death.

Lini giggles at Dulci's taunt, sidling up to the bar and adopting her usual modus operandi, leaving the chase to her larger and more dangerous friends. She reflects that these friends are rather less fury than usual. Well, Thessaly anyhow.

Stooping to the dirty tavern floor, she stops to see if any of the bleeding brawlers can be saved. Heal (w/healers kit): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Darathys manages to trip the man just as he is trying to leap through the window, and Thessaly shows her face in the window, clearly cutting off any means to escape. The red thug surrenders.

The man claiming not to be Hjort is quite dead, as are two of the other patrons. The rest will survive, given some time, thanks to Lini's aid.

The bartender looks over the bar briefly, and then sinks back down.

Knowledge, local DC 10:
You expect the city watch to be here soon, and fight or no, you probably don't want to be involved in a murder trial. You probably have time to ask a few questions, however.

Darathys slowly loses his anger and stops attacking. "The city watch is going to be here soon. We've got time for a few questions, though". That said, Darathys moves closer to his companions, a guilty expression written all over his face. He gazes at the man pretending not to be Hjort and shakes his head. "He was too weak...I tried not to kill him, I swear..."

Why using a fake Hjort, why beginning a brawler fight against armed men and women ?

Thessaly helps drag Reddy back inside. "I don't want to stand around waiting for the damned guard," she mutters. "Let's take Mr. Wants-to-Start-a-Fight with us. Somewhere quiet. Somewhere cold."

She grins, not very nicely, down into the man's face. "Ever had snow packed around your junk?"

"A sap? Try a feather." Lini says, giving Not-Hjort a tentative nudge with her toe and fixing her eerie gaze on Darathys.

"You remind me of a mountain lion I knew." she says, as if discussing a casual acquaintance. "Deadly strong, but never learned to wait for the right time to strike. When the lean winters came, he starved to death..." she says, giving the newcomer a meaningful look before glancing at the innkeep. "We'll be going now! Sorry about the mess."

Either Hjort was disguised or Hjort was a coward. I don't think we have enough evidence yet to assume a disguise though. Unless I've missed some crucial detail?

Well, the guy we think was Hjort claimed not to be him and said that 'they' had made him do this. Given the two men seemed to be waiting as that for a cue to start the fight, I assume they're the "they" in question. To me it seems like this guy was a decoy planted to get us into a fight. Of course, that's assuming that dead-"Hjort" was telling the truth.

After the onslaught in the tavern, the man doesn't take much convincing, as he truly believes you will kill him if he doesn't cooperate.

"He's not here! Really! He send us to make sure Horace <gulp> did a good job of luring you in, and to start this fight. He hates you Pathfinders - he really does! But I don't know where he is now."

After a little more threatening and prodding, he tries to make a deal. "Listen, I don't know where he is, but if you promise to let me go, I do know of his plan to make you all look bad and get kicked out of the Land of Linnorm Kings for good. Promise?"

"Hjort is having a team pretend to be you and frame you for destroying a Trollheim armory. He thinks this will be enough to turn the government against the Society and drive you all out, or even kill everyone of you. He is there now, in fact. If you hurry, you might catch him there."

The man gives you the directions to find the place, and then makes to leave.

Knowledge(local), DC 10:

Actually, you recognize that Hjort’s plan is flawed, the lack of a unified government around here means it is extremely unlikely that the Society would be banned from the whole area. But even being exiled from Trollheim would be a blow to the Society, and you have other business here still, so it probably is best that you stop his plans.

Dulcinea jumps up onto the table, drawing her rapier and holding it aloft in a mock-heroic stance as she puts on a resounding, melodramatic tone of voice.

"We cannot allow this to stand! The good and honorable name of Dulcinea de la Mancha shall not be tarnished by such slander!"

She spins her rapier and stabs it into the table, then leans on it, a cockeyed grin on her face.

"I think that is what I am supposed to say here, no?"
