Jules Stonecutter
|
Jules move toward the main exhibit.
"Its time to finish this"
She then stops amazed at how brave that sounded.
Um maybe you should go first she says with a smile.
Storn
|
"Hmph, something will want to fight us in there considering how things have gone. GORUM BLESS US AND JULES' SWORD IN YOUR NAME" Storn raises his sword to bless the group and then reaches out to touch Jules' weapon.
Storn opens the door.
Casting bless on the party, and magic weapon on myself. So +1 to attack and fear saves for everyone. Jules gets an additional +1 to attack and damage with her primary weapon.
Wuliem BrokenCrown
|
Wuliem quickly drinks an extract [shield Ac 22 (+2 armor, +4 shield, +4 Dex, +2 NA, now)].
Wuliem tightens his perspiring grip on his quarterstaff
with a determined look on his bestial face.
And.Here.We.Go.
anyone guess the quote?
Jani Lee Two-spirit

Jani will perform the 1 round casting of Enlarge Person during the buffing period. "Would you like us to make you bigger before or acter you enter the room, Storn?" after casting they can hold the charge and apply it to Storn after he goes through.
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Hmm. It sounds kind of familiar.
Mock vines cling to the walls and hang from the fifty-foot-high domed ceiling, and huts of grass are strewn about the open area. At the center of this sprawling chamber, a miniature replica of a traditional Mwangi ziggurat rises out of the mist to a height of nearly twenty feet. At the top of the ziggurat, a rail-thin elven gentleman is strapped to an altar, his bare chest painted with strange sigils and monkey paw-shaped blots of paint.
Before you you see nearly 20 apes, baboons, and other monkeys reveling here, snarling, spitting, and cavorting madly about the ziggurat. As you are noticed at the door, a terrifying howl shatters the revelry and the primates scatter into the mists around the edges of the room. There, they continue to bang on the floors and walls with scattered objects; slowly the noise coalesces into an ominous rhythm: THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ...
From behind the ziggurat emerges their champion, an enormous silverbacked gorilla.
Herman's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Jani's Initiative: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13
Jules's Initiative: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14
Storn's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 1 = 14
Tharnak's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
Wuliem's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 22
Da'Tunga's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d20 ⇒ 13
Wuliem is up! Then the Gorilla, then everyone else.
Jani, They can apply it either way, although, for convenience, we'll enlarge Storn after he moves to a clear spot.
Herman Halfshanks
|
Herman picks up the idols from the ground, on the off chance that they might be useful later on.
As the ziggurat comes into view, complete with elven sacrifice atop, Herman begins intoning and gesturing, sending a silent scream towards the gorilla.
Cast Ear-Piercing Scream on the gorilla when my turn comes around in the order.
Wuliem BrokenCrown
|
Wuliem moves into the room (N32).
He reaches into a pocket, producing a bomb!.
He then tosses it at the beast!

This content was created for the Pathfinder rules by Paizo Publishing LLC and is part of the Pathfinder RPG product line.
DESCRIPTION
Upon drinking an extract created with this formula, you make a significant change to your magical reserve that modifies the nature of all bombs you create and throw during this extract’s duration. This effect on your magical reserve has no effect on any discoveries that you use to modify your bombs, but you can only have one admixture effect (formula with the word “bomb admixture” in its title) active at a time. If you drink another bomb admixture, the effects of the former bomb admixture end and the new one becomes active.
When you throw bombs, they can only hit a direct target; they do not splash. However, the bomb deals its base damage plus double your Intelligence modifier instead of just its base damage plus your Intelligence modifier.
This may get a bit...hairy!
| GM FurtiveZoog |
The great ape moves towards you, growling and thumping his chest!
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d6 ⇒ 2
As it comes just into range, Herman screams silently and the ape winces visibly, throwing it great paws up around its ears!
Everyone but Wuliem and Herman is up. I'll move Storn ahead 5' and change his size, as per Jani's spell, to Large.
Jani Lee Two-spirit
|
Jani will be behind Storn and touch him to apply the Enlarge as soon as he is clear of the door.
A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target's speed.
If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it—the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.
All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee weapons affected by this spell deal more damage (see Table: Tiny and Large Weapon Damage). Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature's possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown and projectile weapons deal their normal damage. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.
TL;DR: Storn's attack bonus doesn't change; his AC goes down by 2 (due to lower Dex and larger size); his damage changes to 3d6+4+any other bonuses; and his natural reach increases to 10 ft, which unlike a reach weapon doesn't stop him from attacking adjacent squares.
Jani will use Evil Eye on the gorilla to make him easier to hit (-2 to AC, DC 14)
Storn
|
Storn looks down at himself as he increases in size. He grins a massive, broken-toothed smile.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
With his footsteps echoing, Storn stomps to the side of the gorilla and swings out with his enormous sword. However, unused to his massive size, Storn manages to miss wildly.
Attack+Bless: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) + 4 = 17
5 foot step to Q32 and then a big miss. Thanks for doing the math!
Jules Stonecutter
|
I believe I can move to m31 without AOO
"Just make it simple for us and fall down" Jules says
rapier +4, two weapons-2, bless+1, Weapon enchant +1
short sword +4 two weapons -2 bless +1 and no sneak yet
rapier: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
Short Sword: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 16
damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Actually, Jules, you would incur an AoO when leaving O30 and at other points because you are moving 10' (i.e. more than a 5' step) and the gorilla has 10' reach, being Large. You would also only have a single attack since you did more than a 5' step.
Storn, I'll allow another 5' since it is unclear which squares, exactly, you would 'grow into', but going to Q32 would be moving diagonally through one of the Gorilla's squares, so I'll move you to Q31.
Jules rushes ahead and leaves herself open for an attack by the creature's long arms, but, for some reason, the attack doesn't come. She presses her own attacks, though, with a rapier thrush, stabbing the creature through the thigh!
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Jules cast an evil eye on the fierce primate. (Not Storn.)
Storn, adjusting to his new sudden new size, though welcome, proves to be a challenge as the cleric swings his greatsword high above the ape's head.
Tharnak is up! And then Wuliem again, as well.
Herman Halfshanks
|
Herman will hit the ape with another Ear-Piercing Scream on his next turn DC 15. He'll also try to stay behind at least one line of the others.
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Oops, I think I got myself confused about what was going on with you where with the "save this for the next round". Can I just move you to M32 so it doesn't mess up Jules' attack?
Ah, OK. I've actually seen that one!
Wuliem's bomb flies just by the large beast, causing a small but especially intense explosion else where in the room, briefly lighting the room red.
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Wuliem gets to where he is going, though it is a strange (and fascinating) experience moving around the edges of the room, where the simians are busy rhythmically banging on the floors and walls with hands and feet and all manner museum exhibits. Fortunately, though, they show you no overt hostility.
Jani Lee Two-spirit
|
Soundtrack for this part of the fight: "Trashing the Camp" from Disney's Tarzan.
Jani keeps up her evil eye on the Gorilla, trying to make it harder for him to attack. DC14, -2 to attack rolls.
| GM FurtiveZoog |
I'll delay Boom Boom's action for now.
Despite the sharp pain in his leg from Jule's rapier, the great beast turns to Storn, his largest opponent, but doesn't act for some reason.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Storn, your current AC is 13, right? (-2 to Dex, so -1; -1 AC due to size, so another -1).
If so, 7 damage.
The beast roars as it thumps Storn's mighty chest with one paw, missing with the other.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 13 + 1 + 2 = 26
You feel you have been cursed. Take –2 penalty to attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks.
In addition your skin takes on a rough, wooden appearance.
Boom Boom, Herman, Jules, and Storn are up! (I've got Jani's action.)
Herman Halfshanks
|
Herman will hit the ape with another Ear-Piercing Scream on his next turn DC 15. He'll also try to stay behind at least one line of the others.
This.
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Oops, sorry Herman. The last one was pretty effective, stopping at least one AoO and a full attack sequence.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d6 ⇒ 1
Makes save. Half-damage (half of 1 rounds to zero.)
Herman tries another ear-piercing scream, but it is not obvious if it had an effect on the beast.
Storn
|
Storn shrugs off whatever the beast tried to do to him, and roars in response, calling out a prayer to his bloodthirsty God before he swings his table-sized sword.
Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) + 4 = 14
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Storn, now use to his size, swings the giant greatsword around and downs the gorilla, who falls with a last growl and a thud! There is, indeed, blood to satisfy the thirsty "Lord in Iron." All of the simians go silent for a moment...
We'll stay in combat order for now. Jules and Tharnak are up, then Wuliem will be up at the start of round 3.
Boom Boom Tharnak
|
Boom Boom steps up to 029 and tosses a bomb to N33
No one is around on the map, but if I missed some moves use precise bombs to avoid up to 4 squares for splash damage (squares that would have my allies).
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 ranged touch attack
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 fire damage if he hits
Wuliem BrokenCrown
|
Wuliem peers around at the ziggerat, attempting to recall if he has seen this someplace prior in his studies.
knowledge arcana/nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
...unfortunately, he was late for that particular session!
Jules Stonecutter
|
Jules carefully approaches the figure tied up on the alter, almost as if she is expecting to get attacked.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
If she sees nothing Jules will attempt to free the sacrifice.
Jules Stonecutter
|
"I think we need that song again to free this x-pathfinder's mind. Herman if you would be so kind, as to sing that chant again." Jules request
Wuliem BrokenCrown
|
Wuliem also approaches the top next to Jules.
Interesting, wouldn't you agree?
I have heard of various experiments that produce similar affects as this.
I myself have been developing something akin to it.
Herman Halfshanks
|
When possible, Herman will re-chant the dispelling song trying to carefully enunciate around the alien tongue forming in his mouth.
Perform Sing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Perhaps his vocal stylings are better as half-Vargouille. I wonder if that;'s PFS legal?
Storn
|
With a huge thump, the gorilla collapses to the ground, followed by the shock of Wuliem's explosive. Standing a good ten feet tall, Storn towers over his companions and the cavorting monkeys. He places a foot on the gorilla, and throws back his head, bellowing a laugh to the heavens.
"BBAAHHH HA HA HA HA HA! Where's your God now, Monkey-Men?! TREMBLE BEFORE STOOORN!!" He then looks over to see people climbing the ziggurat and Herman singing that weird song. "Oh alright."
With that Storn heads over to climb the edge of the ziggurat, taking several steps at a time.
THis is how Storn sees himself right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMjYY3tbX1k
| GM FurtiveZoog |
That's great. I got out of the Simpson's a few years back when I went through a time crunch, but had watched it from the skits on The Tracy Ullman Show.
The melodious chanting - somehow here possible - of the distinguished bard instantly snap the elvish prisoner out of his madness, and you see the now-familiar, angry vapors fume out the mouth and nose, rejoining their brethren.
"Where ... where am I? How did I get up here? Please, someone release me!" says the now-sane man. "My name is Nigel Aldain. I am the curator of this museum. Oh gods, the mists are still here!"
As the few moments of Herman's chant come to a close, a large, dead tree appears on the east side of the ziggurat.
Jules Stonecutter
|
Jules will free the Now-sane man.
Then she will begin looking for idols.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
| GM FurtiveZoog |
Boom Boom looks at the tree, which appears to all examinations to be a normal, dead tree of a type common to tropical areas, like the Mwangi Expanse, if oddly positioned here, just standing up on the flagstone floor, leaning a bit against the ziggurant with its few branches.
Nigel climbs down wearily from the ziggurat and begins to profusely thank each of you for saving him, but looks warily at the lingering mists. "Have all of the idols been found and destroyed? Of the three, I believe only the one was complete..."
Looking around the room, Jules does not see any of the idols. (A longer, closer inspection by everyone also reveals no idols.)
Jules Stonecutter
|
We found two incomplete idols but I believe there is one more.
"if we have not searched inside the huts in this room, I will search there
Jani Lee Two-spirit
|
Jani pulls out the pamphlet they were given earlier, and scrutinizes it. "Ah, in our haste we have bypassed the storage room. We need to return to the Beasts of Legend exhibit and go to the door we passed by before."
