Morvius Eruthiel
|
Round 3:
"Get back, you idiot!" If Glist moves out of the way, Morvius will take a 5' step to finish where Glist started out. The half-elf takes a swing at the Legionnaire, but is again unable to penetrate its armor.
Attack on final foe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
Rogdar grunts in annoyance at Glist's lingering but nevertheless sees an opportunity in the halflings delay. The dwarf sidesteps into a flank against the Bronze Legionnaire, using the injured Quiven as a distraction.
Warhammer attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 181d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Quiven Glist
|
My mind... its feels like its not my own, though I have control. I can't think straight. One moment I'm filled with aggressiveness, the next I just want to crawl under a rock with fear. Things seem to be happening sooo fast right now... what is with this hair? The mist... ugh, I'm bleeding! I'm going to die here as some creature! This is not how I thought my career would start... or end! I want to rip something to pieces right now!
Quiven continues to hold his position on the floor, clutching his wound, afraid to do anything at all in fear of dying from his actions.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
The attacks by Morvius and Rogdar bounce off the armor of the Bronze Legionnaire as Kyroden heals up his cowering friend. The Bronze Legionnaire swings his longsword down on Morvius.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
1. Glist, Morvius, Kyroden, and Rogdar
2. Bronze Legionnaire
Morvius Eruthiel
|
Round 4:
Morvius staggers back 5', badly wounded, and scrabbles for his bow, managing to hit the walking corpse. Whether he does any damage through its armor remains to be seen, though.
Arrow to the Legionnaire, incl. PBS: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 1 = 19
Arrow damage, incl. PBS: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
"Why won't ya just DIE!?!" Rogdar roared as he brought his warhammer down at the armoured undead.
Warhammer attack (still flanking)1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
But the nimble skeleton easily sidesteps the strike.
Damn
Quiven Glist
|
I thought I posted earlier but I don't see it now...
Quiven, now fully healed, regains his lost courage and slashes at the Legionnaire with his rapier.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Quiven Glist
|
Frustrated that the creature refuses to yield, Quiven lashes out wildly with his rapier once more.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11
Damage+Sneak Attack from Flanking: 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (3) = 4
Morvius Eruthiel
|
Round 5:
Morvius grunts and nods at Kyroden, then takes another shot at the armored figure. He grimaces as the arrow glances off its bronze carapace.
Arrow to the knee: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 1 = 15
| GM Mike Tuholski |
No, the 19 did not hit last time.
The Bronze Legionnaire hacks at Rogdar once again.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1. Glist, Morvius, Kyroden, and Rogdar
2. Bronze Legionnaire
Also, just so you know:
Healing (Su): A witch can soothe the wounds of those she touches. This acts as a cure light wounds spell, using the witch's caster level. Once a creature has benefited from the healing hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours. At 5th level, this hex acts like cure moderate wounds.
I believe Morvius and Glist have received a Healing Hex already.
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
OOC: According to James Jacobs, you can use Healing Hex to harm undead. Discussion thread (scroll to bottom of page) HERE.
Rogdar, pleased that he is distracting the undead, continues swinging his hammer in the hopes of finding a weak point in the undead's armour.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damn my rolls suck.
Quiven Glist
|
Quiven will continue to hack away at the creature despite his previously futile attempts.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Kyroden Hawkstorm
|
What's that my love? Kyroden asks his mace. [b] I should touch the bad man to heal him? [ /B]
Moving to the Undead guy then rolling for touch attack & using my hex
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Healing 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Kyroden-I assume a healing hex holds its charge just like a regular touch spell so you can try your free touch attack again next round.
All of your attacks seem to be bouncing off of his armor. The Bronze Legionnaire turns to Quiven and slashes downward with his sword.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1. Glist, Morvius, Kyroden, and Rogdar
2. Bronze Legionnaire
Quiven Glist
|
Quiven doesn't like the idea of being attacked again but he is too intent on the task of slashing at the fiend.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Sneak Atttack Damage for flanking that I keep forgetting: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Morvius Eruthiel
|
Round 7:
Morvius tries to time a feint to set the Legionnaire up for Quiven's strike, but fails miserably. Good thing missing an Aid Another attempt doesn't mess up the person you're trying to help :-0.
Aid Another for +2 to Quiven's attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Morvius Eruthiel
|
"Stay here and don't touch anything."
Morvius takes a minute to gather up the weapons and armor on the bodies and set it aside for later examination. Then he motions towards the door on the far wall. "That way. Rogdar, go first."
Quiven Glist
|
Quiven awaits further instruction, still in the process of calming his bloodlust of the battle.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Upon closer examination, it is clear that the Osirion Scarab Seer was a ghoul, likely activated by the evil mist that permeates the museum. He was wearing a scarab broach that acts as a feather token (bird).
The Proto-Kellid War Chief's bones were scattered a bit in the fight but among the clothes you find a lard tusk that serves as a masterwork ivory greatclub.
The Qadiran Warlord has also disintegrated into a pile of bones. He was carrying a masterwork alchemical silver scimitar.
The Bronze Legionnaire was wearing bronze half-plate and carried a longsword.
Looking around the room, you notice a fifth body that must have refused to answer to the mist's call. A Mwangi warrior, his body preserved in hot mud, stands against the wall clutching a bone-handled kukri with a jade-carved blade. The nearby plaque (for those of you with sufficient Int to read it) explains that he was a member of the Jambala Jaeg tribe, a people who once vehemently opposed Angazhan's followers in the Mwangi Expanse and were wiped out for their opposition.
When you enter the next room, you see that the door to this chamber was once a pane of expensive frosted glass, which now lies in broken shards on the floor. Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented.
The mist here rolls near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead. The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.
Quiven: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Kyroden: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Morvius: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Rogdar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Quiven Glist
|
Locks? Yes, I know how to use a lock, why are they asking me such a simple question. Oh, I think he means opening them without a key. I have tools for that!
"Um, yes... yes of course I am!"
Quiven searches for and eventually locates his tools. "OK, I'm ready, but I'm not going in there alone. Someone lead the way to this lock you want me to be good with."
Tools in one hand, rapier in the other, I'll follow someone into the room and, if I can, take 20s for finding/disabling traps and opening the lock in question. If rolls are needed, you can make them for me as I'll be in bed soon. My Disable Device is +7.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
As Quiven and the rest of the party move across the room, they hear scuffling from inside the steel cabinet. Someone tentatively whispers, "Hello?"
However, just then two hairy ape-like figures drop down from the mist-covered ceiling on either side of Morvius and begin to beat on him.
Surprise Round:
Kadarnik Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Kadarnik Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Yannis Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Yannis Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The person inside the cabinet begins to scream hoarsely.
Kadarnik and Yannis: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Kyroden: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Rogdar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Quiven: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Morvius: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Initiatives:
1. Kadarnik and Yannis
2. Everyone else
Quiven Glist
|
Quiven moves into position to attack the one known as Kadarnik.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
Rogdar blinks in surprise at the arrival of the ape-men. Grinning, he readies his dwarven waraxe and assails the one known as Yannis.
Waraxe attack on Yannis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
N.B. I'm assuming I don't have a flank.
OOC: Funny, I just realised yesterday that my waraxe does more damage than the warhammer. Facepalm
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
Does that mean both Rogdar and Kyroden's attacks missed?
Rogdar blocks a meaty claw to the face with his shield, Rogdar grinning back in contempt. He snarls as he hefts his axe for another strike.
Waraxe attack on Yannis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
NICE! Attempting to confirm!
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
That's probably a critical hit.
If it is NOT a critical hit, Yannis takes 10 damage
If it IS a critical hit add an additional:1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10. For a total of 20 damage.
Rogdar Stoneshield
|
EDIT:
Woops. My mistake. If Rogdar made a normal hit (no crit) then he inflicts:
10 points of damage.
If the attack was a critical, he instead inflicts:
20 + 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 = 30 damage.
I just realised, Dwarven waraxes have a x3 crit, not x2.
