You have it correct Dien.
Entranced by the sound and quick of foot, Jararaca hastens forward toward the statue.

Plaguestone Map | Gallows of Madness Combat Map

Hush moves after Jararaca on the sands, not quite able to keep pace with the fleet half-elf, but unwilling to let him travel too far ahead in case there might be things near that need killing.

Kaye prepares for potential battle...

Erevan moves forward, half the distance Hush had traveled, and scans the statue face for anything threatening. Move action for an active perception: Erevan Perceives, vs DC 0: 1d20 + 11 - 19 ⇒ (9) + 11 - 19 = 1

"I see something!" the keen-eyed half-elf shouts, over the sound of the eerie droning. He points far up the statue. "In Irori's mouth!"

The two of you that still retain some control over your faculties squint, but that cave mouth is quiiite a ways up there. 180 feet up there, in fact. DC 18 for Hush, and DC 20 for Kaye (perception) to see the figure Erevan has indicated. You gain a +4 bonus to the check as Erevan is telling you where to look.

GM explanation of map:
This one's sort of a pain, map-wise, since we have both vertical and horizontal distances in play, or, we will... once the charmed start climbing. Also, my vertical map isn't big enough to accurately show the scale. One square on the vertical side doesn't equal 5 feet; it equals uh... about 13 feet. In short: do not worry about moving yourself on the vertical side of the map, just narrate your climb checks if you're making them, and I'll move you accordingly. The 'vertical map' is more just a rough visual marker of how high people are relative to each other and to the ground, rather than an exact science.

The camels, the drovers, Pashket and Atmar... and Ma'Huuk and Vargo all move forward, fixated on a point in space ahead of them... The long-legged camels easily overtake Jararaca, coming up to the very base of the statue, while the others follow more slowly. Moto catches up with Jararaca, at least.

Start round 2

Jararaca... you just must find whoever's making this lovely, lovely sound... the statue's before you, but you hardly care: you jog the remaining twenty feet, pushing past the camels, and you begin to climb.

So, with only two non-charmed, active PCs (since I'm botting Erevan).... this will be unfortunately be really boring for anyone not Kaye or Hush. I can give you guys the chance to roll your own climb checks so you have, um, something to do.... or I can speed it up, and roll climb checks for you until you would have the liberty to choose to do something else, since you're all compelled to try and reach the source of the singing. Sorry, I rolled some crappy rolls for y'all on will saves. :(

If you charmed PCS have a preference on rolling your own climb checks, or just having me do it to keep things moving as quickly as possible, let me know. I'll give Jararaca the chance to roll his, but if he's not done so by the time I next check the boards, I'll roll them.

Current situation: check the roll20 map to see how far you are from the base of the statue, etc. Jararaca is up; he's now at the base of the statue, and has spent 20' of movement this turn so far. However, the statue is heavily eroded and worn with hundreds of deep cracks and wide ledges, making it pretty easy to climb: it's only a DC 10.

If either Hush or Kaye make the Perception check to see the creature that Erevan is yelling about:

What do you see, precious?:
There is a winged figure perched on the lip of.... Irori's lip. It's hard to be certain at this distance, but you think it is a female. (Kn nature to identify, which neither of you have, I don't believe)

Round 2, GM rolls:

Jararaca climbing #2 (assumed no armor, as previous day): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Jararaca is now 15 feet up the statue

Camels climbing #2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Moto Climb 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Jararaca starts nimbly climbing upward with the remainder of his movement, getting about 15 feet off the ground up the face of the old statue. The camels do a fantastic impression of mountain goats, managing to climb upwards as well, their long legs treating the statue like a very steep dune. The drovers, Pashket and Atmar all stumble forward as men enraptured to the base of the statue, obviously ready to climb in a few seconds time. Vargo and Ma'Huuk follow, but their armor slows them enough that they have yet to even reach the base of the statue.

Moto, being as speedy as Jararaca, darts to the base of the statue, then begins to half-hop and half-scrabble upward, catching up with the half-elf.

Round 2: Nobody failed a climb check-
Camels: now 25 feet off the ground
Jararaca and Moto: now 15 feet off the ground
Vargo and Ma'Huuk: moved closer, but haven't started climbing yet

-Start round 3-

With some distance between them and the ground, now the climb is actually dangerous for those on the statue...

Jararaca gets a triggered will save: 1d20 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 + 2 = 2 Nooope. Still climbin'

Jararaca gets a triggered will save: 1d20 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 + 2 = 16 Success!

Jararaca... your head clears. You blink around - realizing you are twenty-five feet off the ground, gripping the many ledges of the statue, and that the music which seemed so enthralling is merely-- rather droning, unpleasant noise. What? What are you doing?

Jararaca, you're up, but you used a single move action in climbing before you made the will save, so you have either a move action or a standard remaining. You are 25 feet up the statue.

Also up for round 3: Hush, Erevan, and Kaye.

Stopping and holding for this round.

The three camels struggle higher, but as the going gets more vertical and more narrow, the fact that they are, indeed, camels, and not monkeys or goats, becomes very evident. The lead camel slips-- and topples backward into its fellows.... all three of the beasts of burden fall to the ground, screaming with animal panic as they fall from forty feet up. Damage to camels: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 3) = 11 They land with sickening crunches of broken bones, and roll on the sand in pain.

Vargo and Ma'huuk have opposable thumbs, which is nice. They each gain a little distance up the statue's face. 5 feet up

Moto, meanwhile, freezes, as the dinosaur's primitive brain clears enough for it to realize that whatever it's supposed to be doing, it's probably not this. It crouches low to the face of the statue, making a shrill clicking of alarm in the back of its throat as it tries to find its packmate. Moto made his will save, but he's just staying put in fear for right now. He's 15 feet off the ground.

The drovers fail to make any progress off the ground, and mill about jostling each other with their faces slack, insensate of the distressed, badly injured camels rolling on the ground a few short feet away. Pashket manages to scale the face reasonably well-- impressive given his girth-- and Atmar gets up a few feet as well.

Statuses at the end of round 3:
Jararaca at 25 feet up
Moto and Pashket at 15
Atmar at 7 feet
Vargo and Ma'Huuk at 5 feet
Everyone else is on the ground, at the base of the statue.

Start round 4

Jararaca would be up first, but in keeping with his tactic so far, it makes sense for him to delay momentarily, until he sees...

The bird-woman swoops out into space, dropping like a stone towards the dazed-and-confused in the descriptive sense, not the mechanical.... caravaneers. She shrieks like an owl as she dives down towards the group, her wings pumping, and hideous claws outstretched. She sees the small target of Atmar on the cliff face, and seems to angle her dive towards him.

At this point, the map is kind of useless to try and describe/keep track of this 3-D combat, so I'll just try and narrate your options well:

You can all see her now, no perception required. She just dove down to 20 feet above ground, and is within 30 feet of all PCs for purposes of ranged attacks, but is not close enough to the cliff wall for those who are climbing to attack with melee (not even with reach weapons, sorry Jararaca). You do not need to use both hands to hold onto the statue if you are climbing; the ledges are just wide enough to stand on using just your legs. Vargo and Ma'Huuk are still under the mind-effect at the moment, but Jararaca, Hush, Kaye, and Erevan are up. (And Moto, if Ma'Huuk wants to suggest an action he thinks his allosaur might take.)

Kn Nature DC 14:

Well, obviously Moto would do what scientists have observed allosauruseses doing in their natural settings for centuries. He'd immediately run to protect his packmate, then—once there—would grab one of the available shortspears and hurl it at the attacker. Oh, the wonders of nature. Alas, as the old poet penned ... Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to roll the die.

Im fairly certain that's what our boy Tennyson wrote, and with this very situation in mind.

Id settle for Moto defaulting to Guarding Ma'Huuk, though, I guess. :D

Given that I had you on delay, you have your full turn now, Jararaca, so you're good. Time for thrilling heroics!

Several things happen almost all at once: Kaye hurls a bomb upward, and manages to hit the flying woman dead on with, causing fire to burst around her and earning a bird-like shriek.

Jararaca launches himself into space, pushing off from the wall in what some might call a suicidal leap. Her skin still smoldering, the woman is not so injured that he she doesn't lash out at him with one clawed hand... AOO vs Jararaca: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Damage vs Jararaca: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Unfortunately for Jararaca's brilliant, dangerous plan, he wasn't expecting a claw that rakes across his reaching arms. The stinging pain makes his attack less effective than it would otherwise have been, and instead of successfully barreling into her and locking his arms around her, Jararaca tumbles to the ground, though fortunately he lands not as hard as he might. The ground hits you, Jararaca :( : 1d6 ⇒ 5 ...still pretty hard, though.

(Alas, if this were a homebrew and not PFS I'd love to have given you some big bonuses for crazy heroics. Instead the dice decided to stomp on you. Sorry. :( -11 total damage to Jararaca, and he is prone on the ground.)

Hush looses an arrow but it misses its mark. Fortunately, Erevan's javelin flies true. Total damage to enemy: 11

The drovers mill around dazedly on the ground, still drawn to get closer to this being but no longer sure of the best way to accomplish this. They move beneath her and begin jumping feebly, gazes turned up to her-- it might be comical, were it not a matter of life and death.

On the statue face, Pashket knows the best way to reach her: step out into space, and walk towards her, obviously.... the large-waisted merchant drops like a stone, landing next to the badly injured camels. Atmar blindly follows the same route, but fortunately, the boy is not high enough off the ground to injure himself-- he lands nimbly, and joins the drovers in standing on the sand beneath the shrieking woman. Damage to Pashket: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Moto clicks in distress, wanting to get to his master but being on a rock higher than his master, and kind of stuck. It's very worrying! As for Ma'Huuk and Vargo.... they join the standing mob that is gathered on the ground beneath the woman, still mindlessly drawn closer to her presence, the song echoing in their heads despite the fact that she's stopped singing.

End round 4, start round 5

Snarling curses, the winged woman decides that the easy prey of the slave boy is of less interest right now than the ground-bound forms who dared to hurt her. She turns furious eyes on Kaye and Erevan, then plummets down to strike at Kaye with a morningstar, shrieking, "Halima! Halimaaa!" as she dives.

Morningstar charge vs Kaye, higher ground: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 12 Nat 1! Nice for you guys

Round 5-- Okay. Everyone's on the ground now except for Moto. The Roll20 map is relevant again after all. Basically, a lot of people clustered around on the ground as close as they could get below her, and then she dropped 15 feet to attack Kaye from directly above his head, so she's actually adjacent to Ma'Huuk, Kaye, and Vargo, and Jararaca... just above their heads. Jararaca, you're prone, and she is threatening your square with her morningstar, so you'll eat an AOO if you try to stand up. The good news is that Ma'Huuk and Vargo have now shaken off the charm, so: You're all up! Do terrible things! (If you don't see the harpy on the map it's because her token is directly atop Kaye's, as she is flying directly above him.)

Hush, any action in this round?

Hush stores his bow, but by the time he gets to the harpy with his twin shortswords flashing she has already succumbed to her injuries. A fine addition indeed, he thinks, drawing a blade across her throat to ensure she doesn't rise again.

no time for solid narration.

Ma'Huuk commands Moto down, then goes tending the camels.
(Basically, any unconscious or dying camels will get Wand of CLW hits until they're conscious, and then we can let them get a good night's rest.)

[ooc]Let em know how many charges to strike from my wand to heal those camels, Dien. :)'

Otherwise, Ma'Huuk is ready to explore this place.

We are still in combat rounds. Hush's action finishes off the last round. Nothing you've posted since matters, heh.

Hush slices the throat of the dead harpy that Vargo had impaled on his glaive, just to be double, triple sure...

A sound of scrabbling and falling rocks draws everyone's attention upward, to see another of the winged women launching herself into space, riding the hot canyon updrafts a hundred and fifty feet overhead. Unlike the one that lies dead at your feet, this one is silent, but her drawn weapon leaves little doubt as to her intent.

The drovers' heads cleared when yours did-- they run to the cliff, trying to keep the camels from injuring themselves further. Atmar runs to his injured master's side.

Party is up. Second harpy is 150 feet above you.

Kaye draws another shortspear. "Ah. You must be Halimaa. The pitiful life of the scavenger: Kill or be Killed."

Kaye waits patiently to see if he can throw another bomb at her.

If the harpy is within 30 feet, and no one besides Kaye is caught in the blast, Kaye will toss a bomb at her.

Ma'Huuk yanks his axe free as he releases his rage. With a wary look up at the remaining threat, the big tribesman endures his fatigue as he makes draws out his shield. With an annoyed look up at Moto, he points to the body-carrying camel and clucks out a command.

Release Rage. Move to draw out shield. Ready an action to attack the harpy should it come in range (attack will include fatigue and power attack).

Readied Attack:
battleaxe, fatigued: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 1 = 10
damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10

Acro to reduce damage from the fall.
Acro to avoid damage, DC15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4; nope
falling damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

I don't see Moto's token on the map. Can you place it to the left of the red camel?

Plaguestone Map | Gallows of Madness Combat Map

Okay, almost everyone readies... and Moto tumbles back to ground. Oof, ow, bang.

Hush's arrow flies wide; the drovers huddle with the wounded camels, trying to keep them from standing on their broken legs, and Atmar helps his master to stand. The harpy circles in the air, studying you and your preparations from a distance; then folds her wings and dives like an arrow towards Hush, deciding he is the most isolated...

Kaye throws a bomb when she gets within thirty feet, fire bursting around the harpy; her mouth opens but no sound emerges. 8 damage to harpy Erevan also tosses a javelin, but she swerves contemptuously from the hurled shaft.

Charge, higher ground, vs Hush: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 23
Damage to Hush: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

She's close enough to bring the pain to her physically, now-- next to Hush, five feet off the sand, wings flapping. Her inhuman face is contorted with rage; you can see her throat is covered with fresh injuries, weeping pus-- probably the only reason you've not been subjected to another bout of mind-confusing singing.

Party's up. Harpy is 5 ft off the ground but still within melee range; due to her angle of approach, Jararaca, Ma'Huuk, and Vargo's readied actions didn't trigger.

"Hmm. her throat has been torn out. A territorial squabble? You should have used this opportunity to flee, Halimaa."

Kaye studies Hush's movements, then throws a second shortspear at the harpy, making sure he does not hit his death-obsessed friend. He then draws another shortspear.

Shortspear, Point-Blank Shot: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18 Man, I'm rolling hot today. Then again, Kaye's build suits him well against skirmishers like harpies.

Kaye threw 2 shortspears. He's holding number 3, and he has two more at the ready.

Vargo actually felt a jolt of glee as he moves over with his polearm to attack the offending Harpy. This was exactly the sort of thing he had trained for with the Hellknights and he was getting to put his practice into execution.

He brought his glaive into an upward swing and tried to drive it hard into the monster.

Vargo and Kaye are able to bring down the already-burnt harpy! Foolish she was, to fly down close enough to be hit by you...

Q: What sort of scenario doesn't give flying enemies some ranged weaponry?
A: A season 0 scenario, that's what.

Combat over! A total of 7 wand charges will heal Pashket and the camels, you can divide that how you please amongst yourselves. There's a bit more to wrap up this location, narration-wise (I assume you'll be good Pathfinders and go plunder that cave!), but I'm unfortunately falling asleep where I sit, so I'll post after some shut-eye detailing what you find, and moving us forward again.

Not missing a beat, Kaye goes to retreat his shortspears. "Well, that was fun. Not really. They're not the first women to make people take irrational decisions."

Hush hops back a step as the second harpy dives at him-- but not quick enough, and he takes a nasty gash across his exposed neck. Before he can raise his bow, however, she collapses in front of him, brought down by Vargo's glaive and Kaye's shortspear. He stashes his bow, picks up his shortswords and makes sure of her with one of them. Then he wipes them off and stores them as well.

Recovering from his fatigue, Ma'Huuk goes about helping to heal the camels and Moto.

Unless someone in addition to Jararaca volunteers their CLW wand, I'll strike 5 heals from my Wand. 4 for the camels and 1 for Moto. Jararaca can use 3 charges.
CLW, Moto: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"I also am no climber," the big man says as he finishes up, "but I have rope and a grapple hook with me." He begins knotting the rope, "That should make this climb easier."

Once it's knotted, he'll just keep trying with the grapple hook until it's successfully in place, then climb up. At that point, he can succeed on a Take 10.
