Derp, I meant antitoxin not antiplague in my last post, but hey, Narvik had it covered himself.

"Those were not merely serpents," Taika muses aloud. "Some taint of evil on them, as I said. We must be aware that other things may also be corrupted. I am fine with the meditation room if all else are. Shall we?-- oh, wait!"

Forgot I bought this after the last scenario.

Taika retrieves a small purple ioun stone from her pack, and then murmurs words of a spell over it. The stone pulses with an inner light when she is done. "This might help someone on our front lines. I forgot it until just now-- I was concerned over Tanbaru. Artoria, or Hagrym, or Narvik? I have channeled a spell of shielding into this, that will last for seven minutes, if one of you prefers to release it into orbit around your head and to say the command word of 'snowstorm.' "

(Spell storing ioun stone, now charged with a 7-minute shield spell. Open to the first melee PC to claim it. Standard action to start it off.

"Hagrym, do you wish me to restore to your normal size? That might be awkward for you depending on the size of the doorways and the ceilings within. I can leave it until we know if you'll be able to fit, if you prefer."

After healing and recovery, the party heads east towards the Meditation room.

The walls and columns of this small building are covered in carvings of mythological scenes. Three sitting pillows of slightly different sizes lie on the floor.

Perception or Survival check, DC 16:
The pillows look relatively new. They have been used recently.

On the northern wall, two inhuman creatures with hair burning like flames hold down a third creature with rough, chiseled features atop an anvil. The two fiery creatures have hammers raised as if shaping their victim in a blacksmith’s forge. Behind them, a towering monstrosity crushes an army beneath its elephantine feet.

Knowledge(Planes) DC 22:
The inhuman creatures are stylized fire and earth elementals, respectively.

The east wall depicts muscular, horned humanoids—one holding a crystalline spike the size of a spear—clambering up a hill toward a fiery circle; the monstrous creature from the east wall storms after them.

Taika identifies The horned humanoids are efreeti, genies of fire. The fiery circle must be some kind of temporary portal.

Profession(Soldier) DC 15 or Knowledge (History) DC 20:
Based on the position and direction they are heading in, the horned humanoids are planning some kind of planned retreat to lure the colossal creature into a trap.

The south wall shows the horned humanoids driving the spike into the monster, pinning it against the wall of a cavern above a pool. Far in the background, a bearded giant with ram’s horns curling from his head howls in pain.

The bearded giant is Yamatsumi, the god of mountains, volcanoes, and the winter.

The cavern is more like a basin of a volcano.

The west wall’s carvings depict a mortal woman who carries a battered suit of armor and gazes up at a towering old man who stands before her. With one hand he points to the snow- capped mountains behind him. The other he uses to gesture palm-outward to the woman, as if instructing her to go no further.

Make a single Knowledge(History or Nobility) check

DC 20:
The woman… that is Ankilhi, the woman of legend known for her 68 great deeds. Some of the deeds include slaying great beasts, acts of kindness, and unifying people against a common foe.

Make a single Knowledge(Planes or Religion) check.

DC 20:
The towering old man is some kind of kami.[/ooc]
[spoiler=DC 30]The towering old man is a jinushigami, one of the most powerful types of kami in existence. They guard natural features like forests and mountain ranges.

The mountains behind the old man are part of the Kullan Dei system and are located in the border region between Dtang Ma and Nagajor. In fact, this temple is in the foothills of these very mountains.

After you finish investigating the area, Tanbaru notes that you can return to the Altar Room, or the Dormitory. Or you can proceed North to the Library.

Taika also agrees that the library seems the logical next place, and, being a lawful sort of person, will of course sign the guestbook. She does speak Tien...

...and looks with interest over the records of comings and goings. "This is quite interesting. Up until about 1200 years ago, the shrine saw regular visitation, corresponding with the seasons, then the visits dropped off. For the last three centuries, the visitors seem all to have had Nagaji as their native tongue-- the most recent recorded visitors arrived three months ago, Xuyan, Muita, and Ngon Le by name."

Take 10 on the spellcrafts, feel free to read the scroll spoilers

"Ah, and what have we here-- useful scrolls! These two will make our feet able to retreat quicker, and this one is the same as the climbing magic I placed on Hagrym... ah, these last two are curative, that seems to be the domain of others."

I suggest people who will be on the front lines take the bulk of the potions, most things that might be useful of those are things Taika can cast, etc. So maybe Artoria wants anything not already claimed.
