GM Bret |

Borgor is a little off-balance from Iseph's attack, but tries to smash Altronus anyways. Bago does their best to prevent it.
Attack, fighting with self, off-target: 1d20 + 16 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 16 - 2 - 2 = 15
Blunt and sonic damage: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (1, 6) + 11 = 18
Round 4:
Bolded may act.
Iseph
Quig
Obozaya Paralyzed until round 8, new save as full round action each round
Altronus
Raia Invisibile!
Navasi
BagoBorgor -29 Fighting with self

_Obozaya_ |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Three guesses what Obozaya is going to be doing this round...
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Finally!
Tapping deep into her reptillian brain, Obozaya struggles physically, and more importantly, mentally, rousing her internally rage which finally breaks through the psychic control that had been laid on her.
"RAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"

Altronus of house Wismac |

"You are outnumbered! Give up or you will be injured!"
I'll give the ettin only a second or two to make some sort of complying gesture, if he does, I'll delay my turn (but I assume he will not, so...) if he does not then I'll "Full attack!"
Attack1 vs kac: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14
Damage1: 1d6 + 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (3) + (1) + 6 = 10
Attack2 vs kac: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 4 = 15
Damage2: 1d6 + 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (5) + (1) + 6 = 12
"Do you feel that heat! That was just a warning! Next time, I'll pierce flesh!
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

My apologies, thanks for the bot.
"What's going on?! Are we attacking only half of it or... I don't know, maybe just aim for the bad head?" Iseph tries to hit the evil head, hoping the other can still live and fully control the entire body on its own.
Trick: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Trick Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Elektra's Navasi |

Navasi is torn and doesn't want to kill Bago even while wanting to take Borgor down, but she still wants to focus on keeping her team safe! She rounds the boxes to get eyes on the enemy and calls out "That's it, focus and keep at it team!"
Get ’Em (Ex) As a move action, Navasi selects one foe within 60 feet that she can see or hear, and that can see or hear her. Navasi and her allies gain a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls against that foe until the end of her next turn.

GM Bret |

Obozaya finally breaks free of their paralysis!
Altronus tries to get Borgor to surrender.
“I will smash you like the insects you are! Then I will get Bago back under my control and take over!”
Bago says “These people friends! I not let you hurt them!”
Navasi shouts for everyone to attack Borgor.
Seeing that half of the Ettin is still fighting, Altronus attacks again. Only the second one hits and only because of Navasi’s aid.
Iseph misses this time.
@Iseph: Are you using the semi-automatic pistol? That is what I assumed, although you do have a static arc pistol that does non-lethal damage.
Round 4:
Bolded may act.
Iseph
Quig
Obozaya Looking to make up for lost time!
Altronus
Raia Invisibile!
Navasi
BagoBorgor -41 Fighting with self

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

Yes I have been usimg the semi-auto but very good point, thank you! I'll be using the static arc next.

Raia The Technomancer |

Raia calls out to Bago once more hoping to end the conflict.
"You have to surrender before we grievously wound you, Borgor! This doesn't have to end with death..."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Fearing for her friend she also casts grease underneath the Ettin.
Grease: Raia can coat a 10-foot square or one object with slippery grease, causing creatures in the area to fall prone or drop the object (Reflex DC 16 partial).

GM Bret |

Diplomacy is an out of combat action. Once the fighting starts, it generally isn’t useful except to make requests of allies. Bago is already doing everything they can to help which is why the Ettin hasn’t been able to Full Attack or use their special to cast and attack. That said, talking is a free action. It was your talking that gave Bago a new save.
Raia casts grease under the feet of BagoBorgor! Unfortunately, they are able to maintain their balance.
Reflex, fighting Bago: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 2 = 17
Raia pops back into view!
Sounds to me like grease should break it.
Round 4:
Bolded may act.
Iseph
Quig
Obozaya Looking to make up for lost time!
Altronus

Navasi
BagoBorgor -41 Fighting with self

Raia The Technomancer |

Ah gotcha! Noted for the future.

Critzs' Quig |

"Whoa big guy Calm down! We only want to find out whats going on here.Seriously if you stop trying to hurt us we will stop trying to hurt you okay!" QUig says as he gets Scout back up and letting him head further in to shoot at the man.

GM Bret |

It doesn’t look like Scout moved. I’ll assume all you did was talk (free action) and move Scout.
Bago continues to struggle with Borgor.
“I’m hoping you will be more tender than the Goblins!” Borgor tells Altronus as he swings at the Solarian.
Behind them, you can see some bones and remains of a cook fire.
Gauntlet, fighting with Bago for control: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 16 - 2 = 24
Blunt and Sonic Damage: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 3) + 11 = 17
Round 5:
Bolded may act.
Iseph
Quig
Obozaya
Altronus
Raia
Navasi
BagoBorgor -41 Fighting with self

Elektra's Navasi |

"Hang in there Altronus!" Navasi smiles and signals to him even as she winces seeing the crushing attack he just took from the ettin!
Inspiring Boost (Ex) As a standard action, Navasi can signal an ally who has taken damage since Navasi’s last turn. The ally must be able to see and hear her and be within 30 feet. The ally gains 11 Stamina Points, up to the ally’s normal maximum. Navasi cannot target that ally with this ability again until that ally takes a 10-minute rest to regain Stamina Points.
Then she calls through the comms to everyone's ears "We've got this team! We can take Borgor down and save Bago! Stay focused! And make sure you don't fire a killshot unless you *have* to!" (she'll try to be careful to not shout that last part out loud)
Get ’Em (Ex) As a move action, Navasi selects one foe within 60 feet that she can see or hear, and that can see or hear her. Navasi and her allies gain a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls against that foe until the end of her next turn.

Critzs' Quig |

Sorry forgot to move Scout. He has moved now and will fire
Quig focuses on his Drone and after moving him fires off a round to attack Borgor Cause if I read this right I can sacrifice my action to shoot at him with scout
Auto Pistol: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Altronus of house Wismac |

Altronus feels his stamina drain as he fends off the huge blow from Borgor. -17 SP
But hearing Navasi's inspiring words, he grunts and swings his solar weapon back at the ettin, keeping an eye on the his gauntlet in preparation for another attack. +11 SP
Fighting defensively: taking a –4 penalty to my attacks this round but gain a +2 bonus to AC until the start of my next turn.
+7 to hit, -4 fighting defensively, + 1 get 'em (Do I get the Bonus since Navasi is lower in turn order. PBP is odd like that.)
Solar Weapon vs KAC: 1d20 + 7 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 4 + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (3) + (1) + 6 = 10

GM Bret |

Yes, you get the bonus. It is generally in the order posted. In this case above I made an exception because you were waiting to see what happened and Navasi posted before I did an update. Since it turned a miss into a hit, I decided to be nice,
Altronus hits Borgor again! Borgor starts to look worried that he may not win this fight!
Round 5:
Bolded may act.
Iseph
Quig
Obozaya
Altronus Fighting defensively, +2 AC
Raia
Navasi
BagoBorgor -56 Fighting with self

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

Iseph pulls their static arc pistol out with their other hand and tries to catch Borgor off guard with something different.
Trick, Stun Pistol: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Trick Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Altronus of house Wismac |

cool I think technically since you do it in bold sections it could be assumed that the post order is the play order, as people just delay their turn, etc... /cheer

GM Bret |

Iseph hits with her shot!
At this point, Borgor calls out "I give up! I admit, there are too many of you. I don't want to die!"
Combat over!
He allows Bago to take the gauntlet off him and throw down his pistol.
Bago helps you helps you restrain them. "I'm sorry for how Borgor hurt you." Looking towards Borgor, he adds "We need a gag for him, otherwise he use spells again."
Looking towards you hopefully, Bago asks "How is Livewire? I want to know what happen to them."

Raia The Technomancer |

"Oh dear! Do you two share the pain as well? I don't want to further hurt you but you are right we have to tie up Borgor." she says while trying to help secure the ettin while still keeping it comfortable.
She then thinks to Livewire and also feels sad as she has to be honest with Bago.
"She is alive but a but uncomfortable. She was apprehended and is in a rather unpleasant place but hopefully we can help her petition for freedom." she replies to his question.

Elektra's Navasi |

Sense motive: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (1) = 12
Navasi keeps her pistol out just in case this is a trap or something, but is hopeful that the fighting is done as she looks to her team, taking out serums of healing for anyone grievously injured.
"Everyone still here?"

GM Bret |

Hearing no more sounds of battle, Grubhammer looks out into the chamber.
“I is still here! Is chief of old tribe down there?”
There appear to be about three to four goblin’s worth of bones near the fire.

Critzs' Quig |

"Probably, cause the humidity she has to deal with is not Ysoki friendly" He says coming down from his perch and bringing Scout back to him.
"If you really are remorseful I am sure some sort of deal can be had, and you might not even have to serve a really long sentence. Not sure exactly how long but you will have to serve something. The good news is they'll keep you fed!"Quig says knowing this as a universal truth with most pact world prisons

_Obozaya_ |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Obozaya had started started climbing down the ladders, ready to start swinging his doshko when she hears the dreaded words...
At this point, Borgor calls out "I give up! I admit, there are too many of you. I don't want to die!"
"Bah! But I haven't hit you yet!" She grumpily stomps over as her teammates start tying up the two-headed creature, wondering whether she could still bop Borgor on his head.
"Why are the two of you stuck together?" She figures if she separates them, she could then rightfully knock out Borgor without hurting Bago, who she has to admit was nice and had helped them.
She then looks down at the goblin bones, and turns to Grubhammer. "I think that's them. You are chief now." She conveniently leaves out the fact that there didn't seem to be a tribe anymore either.

Elektra's Navasi |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Hearing those words from Grubhammer, a single bead of sweat appears at the edge of Navasi's hair as she looks around this chamber and tries to think quickly as the size of their paycheck starts to shrink in her mind's eye.
"Um...well...Obozaya! Why don't you do a tactical analysis of whatever's here...and anything that's not of use to us or our Starfinder clients...you and the little one can smash, crash, and burn to your hearts' delight?"
and then hastily adds "*after* making sure that there won't be any secondary explosions that might damage something profitable?"

GM Bret |

“Oh! Explosions good too! First, second and many more explosions! This going to be a great celebration!”
The little Goblin starts looking around for things that can be burned or exploded.
——
- On BagoBorgor you find the following equipment:
- freebooter armor II size XXXL (armor can be resized with 10 minutes work)
- advanced semi-auto pistol with 30 small arm rounds
- LFD pulse gauntlet with 6 batteries (2 charges each)
- cryo grenade I
- efficient bandolier
- 2 disembodied eye stalks strung on a thick leather cord
There are a lot of crates in this area, but the crates show the telltale signs of a forced opening. Nothing of value remains in them.
There is another room that you haven’t investigated directly opposite where the elevator comes in.
The electric hum of a powered computer console echoes throughout the bowels of this recessed chamber. A series of thick cords attached to the console connect to a large, gore-covered hatch. The hatch firmly seals against the room's rough stone floor. Several vents surround the hatch, each spewing forth gouts of miasmic exhaust and emitting angry whistles at irregular intervals.

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

Iseph climbs down the ladder and joins the conversation, "Maybe take it up top too Grubhammer... a bigger room for bigger fires!"
The android then will go to the humming computer and try to find out what the sealed hatch is all about.
Computers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
"Ugh, there's blood everywhere. Quig, you got a sec? Typing on this thing is like walking on ice."

GM Bret |

Those want to look at the hatch can give me an Engineering or Physical Science check.

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

"Oh wow, this is a little over my head." Iseph remembers the traps on the computer upstairs and takes some careful steps back. Heading to look at the hatch itself now, they stoop down to inspect it's construction.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Critzs' Quig |

Quig was looking over Scouts injuries but when his name is called his ears perk up moving before his head does in that direction.
"Ooo a computer, becareful it might shock you!" He says coming over with Scout in tow.
once there he looks at the hatch with her and pulls out his tools.
"Let me see here, I might beable to help, and besides tiny hands are great for small spaces!"
Engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

GM Bret |

The hatch as being constructed of pure adamantine.

Altronus of house Wismac |

Altronus takes time clearing the scene, letting his teammates do the check with the odd hatch.

_Obozaya_ |

“Oh! Good idea! Might be able burn ship!” Grubhmmaer rushes back to the elevator and starts his ascent.
"Why did you go and encourage him for! Now I better go babysit him." She pauses briefly, then adds, "Do we still need him actually?"
Grumbling to herself, Obozaya quickly catches up to Grubhammer, and makes sure he doesn't cause TOO much damage.
Think Obozaya is not much help here.

Raia The Technomancer |

"Will our commands from the other computer be able to help us with this one? Let me know how I can help" Raia says as she moves towards the computer to examine it and provide assistance.
Preparing an aid action for the computer if someone wants to try and work with it. My modifier is a little low to take the main roll.
Computers (Aid): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Elektra's Navasi |

Navasi just stays around making sure she's there to help if she can.
I'm not sure if there's any thing Navasi can help with either on these rolls.

McBugman Iseph Pregen |

Iseph looks to Quig, "Right? Well, we came all this way... rock, paper, scissors.."
Iseph then races up to the tier 3 computer amd starts using it to hack the tier 5.
Computers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Spoilering to allow more aid, but ultimately it's for everyone.

Critzs' Quig |

"What..Wait" Quig says lost in thought his mind whirling with the variables in linking and hacking the system. Then Iseph bolts off on her longer legs.
"We should combine our collective efforts and Hack it together!!!"He says skittering along after her.

GM Bret |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Iseph gets the various algorithms in place while Quig sets up the other computer. Navasi monitors the links and all the various data logs while Raia works on the defensive measures to try and prevent the hack from being detected.
Without the additional power of the other computer, you would not have been able to hack the system and shut down the defenses fast enough. As it was, you deactivate some sort of trap and get into the system.
The computer console's screen rapidly scrolls through a series of blueprints, plans, and schematics that hint at a larger substructure beyond the closed hatch. You download this information into your storage devices.
The hatch opens.
On the other side of the hatch you find the melted remains of Snips and Xalak-don. As you search through this mess of melted bodies, you find a credstick containing 1,500 credits, three mk 2 serums of healing, a carbon steel curve blade with an entangling fusion seal (6th level), and a mk 2 ring of resistance.
You’ve got what you came for. This is no moon, and you have accounted for all the crew of The Archer. Time to report in.
Meeting up with the others, you find Grubhammer has his bonfire but hasn’t managed to ignite the ship yet. You convince him it is time to leave, mentioning you have food on your ship. His stomach growls in response and he quickly agrees.
From your ship, you contact Luwazi Elsebo and give a quick account of what you have found. She graciously thanks you for your efforts on Salvation's End and beckons your group to return to Absalom Station for debriefing, indicating that future exploration of the moon needs to wait. Luwazi then adds that the PCs' payment can be claimed upon their return: 3,000 credits for each of you. Luwazi heaps praise upon the group of you for a mission well done and is excited to discuss future opportunities with you, if you so desire.
Luckily, the Starstone makes for a quick return trip.
When you get back to Absalom Station, Luwazi is eager to debrief you on the details of the mission. She has someone else feed and debrief Grubhammer separately. She is exited by your discovery of such an immense and unexplored location, saying it is sure to get the attention of countless organizations—not to mention catapult the Starfinder Society back onto the galactic stage as an organization with sole rights to explore the false moon!
You bring the Archer's former captain (and attached first mate) to the authorities. Doing so allows them to submit Borgor as a replacement for Livewire, and the Starfinder Society grants Bago clemency by downloading his consciousness into an appropriate receptacle, thus freeing him from his vile brother.
Although not quite how they planned it, Livewire and Bago are finally free of Borgor! Bago has an Android body with his consciousness in it, and Borgor is sent to the Sauna to take Livewire’s place!
You have successfully completed both the primary and secondary success conditions.
Congratulations!
