Round 3: Actions
Standard Action: Shoot the thug facing Petronicus
Free Action: Drop Shortbow
Move Action: Draw Dagger
Mach readies his shortbow and fires at the thug Petronicus tried to trip up again. After the shot, he drops it and pulls out one of the many knives still on his person.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Thug is 10 feet away from Petronicus, so I don't take the penalty for shooting into melee.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
"Get ready: goblins coming out the door soon!"
| GM Dak |
Quintus moves away from the fight, ready to defend himself if anyone approaches while Mach takes a shot that the one thug Krupt is dealing with. The arrow flies true, piercing the man's shoulder but it doesn't seem to deter him from his current course of action.
He steps up to Krupt and tries to punch him in the face.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1 Non-lethal
He manages to take advantage of Krupt trying to adjust with his large weapon as the Thug pops him in the eye.
The other thug moves up to Nimt still continuing to attack with his morningstar.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Nimt still easily, manages to avoid the swing of the man.
Round 3
Quintus, Mach, Thugs, >Um'bala, Nimt, Petronicus, Goblins-1, Goblins-2
| Mach Star |
Nope. GM has a little arrow next to the name of the guy who's next in the turn order.
The turn order is like this:
--Quintus
--Me
--Thug Team
--Um'bala (who's up now)
--Petronicus
--Goblin Team 1
--Goblin Team 2
You can post your Round 3 Action now, and after the goblins act, it'll be Quint's turn again.
Does that make sense?
| Petronicus Krupt |
Nope. GM has a little arrow next to the name of the guy who's next in the turn order.
Does that make sense?
Yes it does, thank you very much. I thought the greater-than symbol was the break between rounds.
| Petronicus Krupt |
Krupt takes another swing at the thug before him, trying desperately to get him off his feet, although he's beginning to doubt his ability. Trip attempt + flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23 That should do it!
Nimt
|
Nimt takes a step back and fires another arrow attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
It seems that Desna is definitely not favoring her today.
"We should consider retreating if things go sour"
| GM Dak |
Krupt knocks the man back down on the ground while Nimt maneuvers and tries to get off another shot, however the arrow flies past the man and off into the distance. Um'bala stands there unsure of the best course of action.
The goblin who climbed up already steps back to make room for his fried then tosses a bag at Krupt.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
It smacks into the wall next to the door frame as the goblin curses. One of the other goblins manages to make his way up as well.
Round 4
>Quintus, Mach, Thugs, Um'bala, Nimt, Petronicus, Goblins-1, Goblins-2
| Quintus Valdemar |
Quintus steps back and casts another spell causing a coating of grease to form on the other guard's weapon.
5 ft. step back and casting Grease on his weapon so he has to make a DC 15 reflex save every time he tries to use the weapon or he loses it.
Um'bala
|
Sorry about that, some stuff came up on Wednesday, and I haven't been able to get to my home computer to check on the map. If you'll allow Um'bala to have been in delay from his action...
"We need to stop mucking about," Um'bala says to no one in particular, and advances next to Petronicus. He grips his staff, and clumsily swings it at the thug.
Aiding Petronicus' attack.
Attack vs. AC 10: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
| Mach Star |
Round 4: Actions
Move Action: Move next to downed guy
Standard Action: Stab him while he's prone!
Mach runs alongside Um'bala with his dagger ready. He twirls it a couple of times for effect before aiming a stab at the prone man.
Attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Unfortunately, while he gets points for style, he doesn't stick the landing. He looks at his dagger as if it decided to betray him.
| GM Dak |
Um'bala snaps out of his train of thought and moves to try and distract the thug on Krupt. Quintus slickens the other thugs weapon once again with his magic. Mach tries to finish off the guy who is once again on the ground but has no luck while trying to show off his moves. The man attempts to stand once again, not ready to give up on the fight.
AoO from Krupt, Mach & Um'bala if he survives
Once up he moves up to whack Krupt again.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Though with the crowded area he doesn't manage to connect. The other thug moves up to attack Nimt once again.
Ref: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Direction: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Distance: 2d10 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
The weapon slips out of the thugs hand as he moves to attack and flies toward Mach.
1d100 ⇒ 68
Luckily it misses him and lands just to the side of him. Nimt moves back again, getting close to Mach and healing some of his wounds.
Round 4
Quintus, Mach, Thugs, Nimt, >Krupt, Goblins-1, Goblins-2, Um'bala
| Petronicus Krupt |
Krupt takes a whack at the thug as he is standing up, but manages only to hit the side of the building. guisarme AoO vs Prone AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
"Stand still, will you!" he yells, frustration growing in his voice. standard guisarme attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8
Um'bala
|
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Um'bala attempts to strike the prone man as well, but his quarterstaff gets entangled with Petronicus' guisarme. "Oof! Oh, I've made a mess of things!"
| GM Dak |
After Krupt strikes back at the man and cuts into him, he holds the wounds and looks around slightly panicked.
The two goblins throw more bags, but with Krupt out of the way they instead toss them at Mach and Um'bala.
Attack-M: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Attack-U: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Both bags hit, the one hits Mach right in the face. When the bags hit some really foul smelling soil and glass burst out.
1 damage each, Mach you are blinded for 1 round as you have dirt and glass in your face. Also DC12 Fort save or Um'bala sickedned for 6 rounds, Mach 1 round.
The final goblin makes it's way up onto the plank of wood.
Round 5
>Um'bala, Quintus, Mach, Thugs, Nimt, Krupt, Goblins-1, Goblins-2
Um'bala
|
Fort: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Um'bala makes a rookie mistake and looks towards the commotion, receiving a sackful of manure to his face for his trouble. He wipes the night soil away from his eyes, gagging at the stench.
| Quintus Valdemar |
Quintus moves away from the thug and then attempts to defensively cast a color spray into the goblins who are on the plank.
Move away from unarmed thug provoking an AoO. Then try to defensively cast Color spray.
Concentration check to cast defensively: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 DC 17
DC 15 Will save or else.
2 HD or less: unconscious, blinded, and stunned: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 rounds, blinded and stunned: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)
3 or 4 HD: blinded and stunned: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds, then stunned for 1 round.
5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round.
| GM Dak |
Um'bala manages to crack the man in the head with his staff dropping him to the floor blood running out his nose.
Will-1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Will-2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Will-3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
The goblin in the back and in the front drop and end up falling into the muck below. The middle goblin doesn't seem effected, but seeing his companions fall he begins to panic. Mach, furiously wipes the muck and glass off his face, making sure to keep himself defended against any other attacks. The remaining thug moves up and attacks Nimt, even without his weapon.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
However, the punch goes wide and Nimt manages to avoid the incoming swing.
Round 5
Um'bala, Quintus, Mach, Thugs, >Nimt, Krupt, Goblins-1, Goblins-2
| Petronicus Krupt |
Krupt grins, "You're outnumbered now, nitwit. I'd run if I were you." He swings his polearm at the thug, using Quintus' flank to his advantage.
guisarme + flanking - PA: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 21
guidarme damage+PA: 2d4 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 + 3 = 13
"Too late," he mutters as the blade of the polearm cuts a crimson path through the man's body.
Nimt
|
Nimt attempts healing again, utterly ignoring the thug next to her.
Concentration check to cast defensively : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
She then moves around the thug to set up a flank, and looks meaningfully at Mach. (Note that Nimt has a Cestus equipped on her left arm.)
| GM Dak |
Nimt comes to heal Mach and manages to bind more of his wounds. The lone goblin inside panics and runs into the other room.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1
As he enters the door a crossbow bolt flies out and grazes him. He yells out in goblin "Wawa me kake yi?" and continues into the room.
You hear a muffled reponse "Ina zaton ka kasance a longshank."
-I thought you were a longshank.
Round 6
>Party, Goblins
| Mach Star |
Round 6: Actions
Move Action: Move over to where I dropped my shortbow
Standard Action: Pick up my shortbow
Mach sighs with relief as Nimt's second healing spell does its work. He gives the druidess a thankful look. "Thanks, Nimt."
The sight of the two downed men awakens something in him, causing his blood to boil. Helpless. Easy. Stab. Stab. StabstabstabkillkillkillKILL!
Not being inclined to listen to them, he runs over and picks up his dropped shortbow. The voices keep whispering, his focus wavering.
Mach takes -2 to attack rolls against anything other than dying or helpless creatures within 30 feet of him: Cruelty drawback.
| Petronicus Krupt |
Krupt momentarily drops his guisarme and looks at the downed men and takes the shield from the closest thug. He then straps the shield on his arm. "Is everyone allright?" he calls out, looking around at his companions. He notices Mach staring at the thugs and concludes that the tiefling must be worried that they still pose a threat. He then lowers his voice to barely a whisper, "We know what awaits us through this door. Why don't we head around to the other side of the building?"
Drop guisarme as free action; standard action to take shield off the comatose man and move action to put it on? Is it a heavy shield or a light shield?
