"Gotta a pressure plate here. Any of you good at disarming stuff?" If not he looks for something heavy to toss at the plate.

![]() |

"Anyone have a spare summoning spell?" My favorite solution to a pressure plate.
"There also those beetle carcasses over here."

![]() |

I'll do it. Mumbles Nevaeh as he pushes his way to the front of the party.

![]() |

If no one stops him Nevaeh will activate the trap. I moved him up to the edge of the plate. I figured I'd give everyone a couple hours or so before posting that I step on it.

![]() |

Jarlgur puts a hand and stop Navaeh. "Hang on a minute. I've learned a few handy tricks to deal with traps."
Getting out a set of tools, Jarlgur gets down on his knees to get a better look as he tries to wedge the pressure plate to keep it from moving.
Disable T10: 10 + 15 = 25

![]() |

Grim and Misfortune maintain a respectable distance back from the trap goings on, figuring if they can't help they should stay well clear of it all.

![]() |

Neveah gives Jarlgur a doubtful look before gingerly walking out on to the plate.

![]() |

Sorry gang, we're entering outage at work soon and things are getting busy.. Most posting rates will be slower for a few weeks.. Im still here though!
Grimnir makes way for Naveah and follows closely behind.. "Nice job with that trap Jarlgur.."

![]() |

Grimnir looks for a way to open the door..
Perc: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (11) + 25 = 36

![]() |

Grimnir casts Expeditious Retreat and See Invis before trying the door..
He gives it a stout push.
Str Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

GM Bold Strider |

As Grimnir kicks open the door with his boot, three arrows embed themselves in the stout wooden frame. The lead wild elf speaks loudly at you.

![]() |

SM: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
I don't know what they are yammering but I don'think they want to hurt us. the probably missed Ham on purpose. Nevaeh says as he aims 'Soaps' bow at the elves.

![]() |

He auto Senses Motive
In common.. "I cant understand you but we're here to put an end to this madness, so if you don't wanna get hurt I suggest you drop you're weapons.."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17

![]() |

Grim just readies his blade - ready to help 'translate' when these natives dont get the message.

![]() |

Nevaeh looks at his companions and shrugs his shoulders, Anyone?

![]() |

Glancing at Hal, Jarlgur says. "Did you understand that last one? Sound like Elvish. Can you translate for me."?"
"WE...COME...IN...PEACE. WE...ARE...LOOKING...FOR...THE....LYRICS." He says slowly in Common.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

![]() |

Yep, sorry. VERY long weekend at work.
After translating for the team, Hal sends back a reply in Elvish. "Fear not, our lives are not forfeit and neither are yours. Together, we can end this madness. Lower your arms and let us speak in peace."

![]() |

Hal adds to his companions, in Common, "If any of you have something to say, I will translate. I am... not the best... at dealing with even my own folk."
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 11

![]() |

Not sure we're making any friends here, why don't you just ask them why their lord is activating the song again.

![]() |

Hal lowers his bow and stows his arrow, but keeps his bow in hand. In elvish, "Of course." To his companions, in Common, "Lower blades but stay alert." He then translates Navaeh's question to the elves.

![]() |

Fine grumbles the paladin, I don't like it though. Seems like a trap.

![]() |

Grim plays, Misfortune on the other hand looks rather confused and simply tries to hide the huge teeth.

![]() |

"Translate this.. We're not leaving without taking care of the problem.. Now you can grow a backbone and stand aside or die for your slave master.. Make a choice!"

GM Bold Strider |

Unless anyone immediately says anything else...
The Wild Elves quickly cast off spells.
Misfortune and Th'reiwa-don needs to make Will Saves. Anyone with wooden weapons needs to make a Will Save.

Why do they get a surprise round when we were all ready for a fight?
Will vs Spell: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Grimnir double moves and get in the far archers face..

GM Bold Strider |

Because you weren't actually ready. Diplomacy attempts take a while and everyone had lowered their weapons. They surprised you by breaking the tense truce after you threatened them. If you had attacked them, then you would have gotten a surprise round, instead.
Navaeh's arrows pierces the closest elf's shoulder as he drops the bow and advances with his sword.
Grimnir moves forward to combat the far elf.

2nd: Grimnir; Grim @ 95/101 HP; Navaeh; Halbarad @ 55/64 HP; Jarlgur; Misfortune; Th'reiwa-don

![]() |

Still being "alert" is what I meant by hanging onto my bow, as opposed to putting it away. I understood lowering weapons as a gesture rather than a mechanic considering us "unaware" to grant them a surprise round. If you want to rule that way then that's fine. Just my two cents. =)
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Th'reiwa-don Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Hal's adaption to the undead keeps his features bony -- should still be up from the last battle (if less than ten minutes ago), meaning AC is 30 and FF is 27.
If something bizarre happens to Th'reiwa-don, he'll fast dismount, otherwise he'll direct the bird to attack while firing off his own flurry.

Halbarad and Th'reiwa-don savage the middle elf and, with the help of Navaeh, nearly ends his life.
Jarlgur cleaves into the first elf with Grim delivering a killing blow with his greatsword.
Grimnir moves to confront the rear elf, but Misfortune is too quick and savages the elf with his claws and teeth, snuffing out any chance for the archer to let another arrow fly.

Grim simply cleans his sword off, content to let the Gods decide the unconscious mans fate.

So that elf in front of me is dead or? Is it our turn?
