Ysmero
|
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Ysmero climbs the wall towards Lady Gormandelle and attempts to a paralyzing strike.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 161d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
If that hits then she must make a DC 14 Will save or be stunned until my next turn per Stunning Fist
| GM Aest |
Please do, Senach. I didn't mean to be unclear about what you could and could not do, and in a real game I would no doubt have caught it before now. Sorry.
The climbing Lady Gormandelle finds herself unable to both dodge Ysermo's attack and hang on to the moose's antlers. She takes the blow in the stomach, but it doesn't seem to phase her too much. However, after a moment she stops moving, eyes unfocusing before spinning back in her head. She manages to cling to her perch, but that's about it.
Lady G. Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Poor, stunned Lady G.
Aldur Sanvell

"I am truly sorry for this, but you should not be here." Aldur slices at her with his rapier.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage (cold iron): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Orophin Telemnarn

Orophin fishes around for his tooth and tries to put it back into place.
Is there a mechanic for that? Heal check? magical healing required?

Assuming he has managed to retrieve the tooth
Orophin inserts the tooth back into his mouth. Then reaching out gently, he borrows a little bit of life from everything around and about. That bookworm, the Nixie, the other pathfinders, a rat in the corner. As he feels himself fill up, he gently releases it to all the people around.
Apart from the fey, selective channeling and all
channel healing: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1) + 1 = 4
The tooth snuggles back into its socket. Orophin can't help but worry at it a little though.
Ysmero
|
Ysmero tries to take advantage of his proximity to Lady Gormandelle to get in an extra strike.
Flurry of Blows Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Flurry of Blows Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Lady G is stunned until just before my turn, so if you can take my action after Aldurs and Senachs that would be awesome. Since she's stunned she has no dex to AC and another -2 to her AC so hopefully they can do some damage before I even get to act.
Senach Slane
|
Finally reaching his target, Senach brings his mace down at the immobile woman thing.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
| GM Aest |
While poor, stunned Lady Gormandelle sits still, Aldur draws more blood with his rapier, cutting a slice out of her stomach. Senach follows it up with a crushing assault that should have put the fey woman down, but she seems surprisingly unkilled by the blow, and even less so by Ysermo's two punches.
"We were supposed to be best friends!" Lady Gormandelle gnashes her teeth, taking a bite out of Ysermo's shoulder (and losing a few of her borrowed teeth in it in the process). As she does, she lets go of the moose's antlers, gracefully leaping past Senach and onto Virml's cage. Virml himself shrieks in terror. "She'f going to sfeal my teef!"
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage?: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Going to have Chup delay here.

since the acrobatics check doesn't beat the DC to movr through the squate do we get AoOs for the movement?
| GM Aest |
Yes. Sorry. Knew I was forgetting some OOC text somewhere.
Orophin Telemnarn
|
Virml would have got some healing from that earlier channel as well by the way.
Orophin slowly works his way toward the caged pathfinder.
"How did you get here?"
Aldur Sanvell
|
"Not so fast!" Aldur slices as her as she leaps down.
AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
As the nixie lands on the cage, Aldur leaps himself. For a moment, as he's in the air, he wishes he had spent more time with the tree scouts of his mother's tribe, and hopes that his feet find purchase on the bars of the cage.
Going to try to jump down into the square next to her, adjacent to Ysmero
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Aldur lands on the cage, as surprised as everyone else, but presses his advantage with a thrust.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Chup "Spoony" Spooner
|
Yeah, delaying is probably good. Chup can't swim and doesn't really have any viable ranged attacks. He'll stop singing and tread water for now, readying an action to use his whip to aid another to improve an ally's attack if any enemies get within 15 feet of him.
Stonegrin Strongale

Stonegrin will take chup on his shoulders
Somewhat frustrated that he can't kill this odd lady himself Stonegrin picksup the halfling who has trouble not drowning in here and places him firmly on his broad shoulders.
Ysmero
|
The Nagaji grunts as he's bitten, it hurts considerably more than he thought it might, but he shakes it off as the Lady attempts to maneuver away from him and attempts to lash out, hoping to stop her.
AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Not sure what sort of move action I can take here. Now that I've already climbed can I just walk along the objects lining the walls, or do I need to continue using climb/swim checks?
| GM Aest |
@Ysermo: I think you need to keep making climb checks.
Neither Ysermo's nor Aldur's reflexive attacks are able to hit the nixie, and Aldur's more thought-out thrust doesn't find its target either.
Round 5
Aldur: Whiff!

Senach Slane
|
AOO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Senach tries to hit the woman as she jumps over him, but all he does is fan some air.
As she lands on the cage, he turns towards her and swings again. I've been forgetting Chup's bonus!
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Ysmero
|
Think my post got eaten because I recall a failed climb roll from yesterday, sorry for the hold up everyone!
Ysmero attempts to climb closer to the Lady.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Once closer he readies an attack again, growing increasingly frustrated at his apparent lack of ability to hurt the frustrating nixie.
Readied attack- triggers if I'm attacked: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
| GM Aest |
Senach's mace crashes into Lady Gormandelle's chest, driving the air from her lungs and cracking several ribs. She falls from her perch atop the bird-cage, giving a final shriek before sinking beneath the brackish black water.
Combat Over
With the nixie's screeches subsiding, all that can be heard is Virml's sobs. "P-pwease, wet me out of heaw. Add gib me bag my teef. S-s-stupid fox lef me ere do die, I guess." He shakes the bars hopelessly, then points to the locked grate of the birdcage.
Ysmero
|
Ysmero doesn't stop for a second to consider how Virml could have ended up here ahead of them and tries to pry the cage open with his bare hands.
Str: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"Where are your teeth?" He asks through the strain of pulling on the bars.
Orophin Telemnarn
|
Orophin, somewhat embarrassed by his own worry about teeth approaches the cage to return them to the pathfinder.
"Let's fit these back in and then I think I can help fix them up for you."
Senach Slane
|
As the others move to see to the injured man, Senach pulls the hideous woman above the water and checks on her wounds.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Senach would never leave anyone to just drown like that.. enemy or not. If she is really and truly dead, he will search her for anything useful. If she isnt, I guess that depends on the heal check results.

Aldur Sanvell

"Wait. Virml, how are you here? You were sent up to copy scrolls, and we didn't see you pass us. And what fox are you referring to?" He puts a hand on Ysmero's shoulder. "Don't free him just yet."
| GM Aest |
While Senach tries his best, the nixie's wounds seem to have been too much, and she's not breathing when he fishes her body from the water. Chup's attempts at helping accomplish very little.
"I dunno. I been here all da dime, since da s-s-stupid fox dook me here. Needed do find some boogs, ad when he did, he lef me here. My teef are probaby in her mouf." He points at Lady Gormandelle's body, then pushes a pair of birds away with one hand while clinging to the bars with the other, body submerged up to the chest. "Pwease wet me oud."
Senach Slane
|
"She is gone, and may the gods have mercy. Lets see what secrets she has hidden. It would have been best if we could have spoken with her."
After he speaks, he says a quiet prayer before rifling through the corpses pockets for anything useful.
Ysmero
|
Confused by all the discussion Ysmero chooses to ignore it and continues pulling on the bars.
Str: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8, but finds himself exhausted.
| GM Aest |
"I'b neber seen you befowe in my wife!" Virml looks quite confused, and also quite cold. "Da fox! He was such a gendleman, and den he shobed me indo dis cage." He reaches a shivering hand down his initiate's robes and pulls out a battered old wayfinder on a brass chain. "Id was my gammovers."
Meanwhile, Senach's checking of Lady Gormandelle's pockets reveals that she wasn't carrying anything except for three molars, and insizor, and a battered and cavity-laden canine.
Feel free to take 20 on the Str. check.
Aldur Sanvell
|
Aldur examines the wayfinder, attempting to determine its authenticity. "One of these Virmls is not real, I would venture. If so, there may be a dangerous imposter lose in the Grand Lodge."
Appraise : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Senach Slane
|
Senach takes the teeth off of the woman, and offers them through the bars of the cage. "Are any of these yours?" he asks. He turns to the rest of the group and replies. "We have been told that the Fox is tricksy and cunning. This mans story does sound plausible.. if naive. Which lends itself more to believability, in my mind. Tell me, sir. Can you describe the Mistress of Scrolls, and tell me her name?"
Misassigned gender is on purpose...
Ysmero
|
"At least someone else is trying to save him!" Ysmero grunts as he and Stonegrin take their time working apart the bars Str Check:23 "All these eggheads just want to ask questions!"
Despite his instinct to trust Virml Ysmero finally figures out why his companions are so skeptical and studies the captive with his unblinking gaze to see if he is trust worthy. He doesn't stop working the bars though.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Aldur Sanvell
|
Aldur pulls a length of rope out of his pack. "Virml, if you are indeed he, I am sorry for this. Please turn around and place your hands together through a gap in the bars." Aldur will tie Virml's hands together, leaving a length of rope to allow him to lead Virml.
| GM Aest |
@Aldur: As near as you can tell, the wayfinder seems to be genuine.
@Ysermo: Virml's accent, aside from the missing teeth, seems to be the same as that of Virml, who's upstairs in the Overflow Archives' transcription room. He's clearly terrified and confused, but seems to be telling the truth.
"Mistwess? Did Masdew Shaine get wepwaced for dis debacle? I hope nod. And weaw is all de wadaw coming fwom?" Virml looks at Aldur with some terror, clearly hesitant to let go of the bars lest his head slip beneath the stuffed-bird-covered waters. After a moment, his hesitancy is made moot as Stonegrin and Ysermo are finally able to pop the lock off with a resounding *Clang*.
Orophin Telemnarn
|
Orophin assists with putting the mans teeth back in.
"Is anyone else injured? If so, I can help you all, otherwise, I have a simpler option for helping these teeth settle back into place."
Ysmero
|
Ysmero opens the cage and helps the poor man out then leaves Orophin to place the mans teeth back in.
"I took a bite but it's nothing serious. I'm not sure about anyone else." He looks at the water as it slowly rises and frowns. "What ever you do, I hope it's fast."
Orophin Telemnarn
|
Once he has the teeth in place, Orophin again opens himself up to the life force all around, borrrowing a little here and a little there.. and then after pulling it in, releases it out to his companions and the wounded pathfinder.
