"What are you planning?" Mrs. Heidmarch asks as she is no fan of surprises.
"We have found quite a few statues of runelords during our recent missions and have found that they sell for quite lucrative amounts. The person we sold the first we found to, has suggested we host an auction to sell the rest. He suggested your gardens would be a perfect place to do this."
"Who is that? And what kind of party and what kind of guests are you expecting?" Mrs. Heidmarch inquires.
"Randolf Burston III, was his name. We are expecting typical high class citizens, I imagine he could fill you in more on who he would like to invite. In terms of what type of party, that is still up to decide, perhaps a masquerade ball type affair?"
Gwenhwyfar looks suspicious at Jimmy but then has to try hard to not start giggling.
"Ah, yes." Mrs. Heidmarch replies knowingly as she has been to such tupperware parties herself. "So what money we are talking here and what is his cut?"
"What did he take from the previous sale Gwen? He suggested an entrance fee of 100 gold per person."
"We got 2000 for two statues and he got 20% of the sales. Which is 500 for him. And from the entrance fee he wants to pay for the party. He suggested having a lecture about the Runelords who he will pay for too. And this time we counted like 15 statues we could bring in. Hopefully at better rates." Gwenhwyfar tells.
"So we're talking 20000gold minimum here." Mrs. Heidmarch contemplates. "Ok, so I want 20% too and Mr. Burston pays to get my park back to pristine condition afterwards. Is that a deal?"
"Thoughts Gwen?" Jimmy asks turning to her, "Our cut should pay for the school without problem. We might need to get a bit more to finish all the apartments though."
Gwenhwyfar shrugs.
"I know, I know you're doing that for the best of all that orphans and whatnot. But this search for the Sihedron has cost me roundabout 20000 gold so far. I have to earn that money somehow. And if you're going to cash in on that research by selling stuff in my garden, it's only fair for me to get some of that back." Mrs. Heidmarch argues.
"Oh I am certainly not arguing that you don't receive a cut. I personally think that 20% is fair as well." Jimmy says to Mrs Heidmarch. "However I also feel that the opportunity this offers you to earn more favour with the high and mighty is worth something as well. But this is as much Gwen's decision as mine, and she needs to know what your cut might mean to our plans."
Gwenhwyfar gets uncomfortable in this bargaining. "I'm fine with it." she tells to get out of this.
"Then it is decided. When would suit you? We were thinking of next oathday."
"As I understand it there is nothing to do for me? Or should I be involved in the lecture?" Mrs. Heidmarch asks.
"A meeting between you and Mr Burston should be all that is needed for you to do."
"Would you tell him to visit me to talk about the details?" Mrs. Heidmarch requests.
"We shall go inform him now." Jimmy says standing, "Thank you for seeing as and agreeing so far."
"I'd suggest you visit him." Gwenhwyfar suggests with dreamy eyes.
"Why is that?" Mrs. Heidmarch inquires with a raised brow.
Gwenhwyfar blushes. "Because cake." She gets up and follows Jimmy.
"Him visiting me is fine. Goodbye." Mrs. Heidmarch replies. Thinking for a moment about it she shakes her head. I have to ask him.
"Goodbye." Jimmy says nodding her and then leads Gwen back to the cake man
As he opens the door Burston greets them "Ah, you're already back. With good news I suppose?"
"Mrs Heidmarch extends an invitation to iron out details."
"Very well. I will visit her on the morrow." Burston replies.
"Before we leave I have a question, do you know of anyone who can do specialized glasswork?" Jimmy asks
"That would be the Kajitsu family. They have a house here in Magnimar but their factory is in Sandpoint." Burston replies.
"Why is that name familiar... Sandpoint , could it be that lady from the bar?." Jimmy asks Gwen
"Yes, the Rusty Dragon." Gwenhwyfar replies.
"Thank you Mr Burston." Jimmy says nodding to him and then turning away.
"So now we atleast know who to speak to about our window."
"We're not going to Sandpoint before we visited Nybor." Gwenhwyfar replies.
"Before that even we need to go tell Mrs Heidmarch Burston will be seeing her tomorrow." he says making the trip back once again
"She is sitting in her office anyway. Why bother?" Gwenhwyfar replies. "Let's do something fun."
"What do you suggest?" Jimmy says taking her hand and spinning her to face him
"I have no idea. What would you suggest?" Gwenhwyfar asks.
"Why don't we go see if your mum would like some dinner and we can bring some to her, and share the good news pending about the school."
"It is already a few hours, but we were with my mum for lunch. And she didn't want to come for cake. Visiting her again is not so much fun." Gwenhwyfar replies.
Starting turning around she tells "I want to fly to the moon dive to the ground of the ocean. Steal some stars and hide them in my pocket. Sell a fake horse to a bandit cheat a feisty lazy rich guy out of his riches while gambling. Turn the world on its head!"
"Well I don't know where we could find a bandit, or see any stars for us to steal... But, we could go try some gambling." Jimmy says with a grin
"Then let's go to the Osprey Club." Gwenhwyfar replies.
"There are a few places we can try. I don't think we look quite as fancy as they would like us here."
"What do you have in mind?" Gwenhwyfar replies not really happy about the unwelcoming demeanour of those guards. But she has to admit that there is quite the difference between her dress that has seen better days and the garb fitted with jewellery the people wear that are let in.
"Well there are some rather seedier establishments in underbridge than here. We would fit right in as we are dressed now and there are many types of gambling to be had." Jimmy says
"I'd rather change my dress than to downgrade to the 'establishments' Underbridge has to offer. Everything not built and run by us is rubbish there." Gwen replies with disgust.
"That is also an option. We would need to go shopping though I think wouldn't we?"
