"And what kind of dog would it need to be that the dog doesn't run away and never come back?" Gwenhwyfar asks wondering herself that Brutus stayed around the Troglodytes.
"A brave one." Jimmy says with a chuckle
"That's an actual category of dog you can buy? I thought they have fancy names for their breeds."
"Are there also specifically bred coward dogs?" Gwenhwyfar asks.
"Oh, hello Gwen. If you have time you could take a look at Abomentolor. He has a bad case of 'was dead' and might need the same treatment as Jimmy did. Not the gender changing, the other one." Tauriell tells.
She still considers her options. Hoping for Niamh to pull another pie out of her hat, Gwenhwyfar offering to make breakfast, going back to bed or making breakfast herself. But at least the last one feels unreal.
"Would you call Brutus a brave dog?" Jimmy responds to Gwen
"I don't know. I haven't seen how he behaves in a fight. He always seems to be mysteriously absent when something happens."
"Do you think it is hard to get diamond dust here in Magnimar? If not I can use the bag we have left on Abomentolor and we buy two new ones next week." Gwenhwyfar suggests.
"Sounds good to me dear." Jimmy says with a smile
"Was dead?" Niamh asks looking horribly irritated and still tousling through Brutus' fur.
"Yes was dead. But you still didn't answer if you have more pie or if the breakfast is called off. Once my stomach stops growling I'm willing to tell details." Tauriell replies.
Niamh takes an apple pie out of her magical apple pie backpack and places it on the table.
Tauriell smiles and sits down at the table. "Short story is that Abomentolor got shot dead with one bolt from someone who knows her business. But Mrs. Heidmarch had him raised again."
She then cuts a piece out of the pie and starts eating.
"What? Wait! You mean Abomentolor is a mortal? He really just DIED?" Niamh asks with her eyes growing wide.
"You can take a look at him if you like. He looks like a sloth with his strength mostly gone. But I guess it was news to him too that he can die." Tauriell replies.
"He's still in his room?" Niamh asks standing up.
"You stop badmouthing me or I'll show you!" Abomentolor calls from his bed. He tries to get up but the blanket holds him down. "Come here that I can show you!"
"He is." Niamh asserts and walks over to the gnome's room taking a piece of apple pie on a plate with her. "Morning Mr. Breakfast?" she asks putting the plate onto Abomentolor's blanket. "Tell me what happened exactly. Did you really just die?"
"How should I know? What's the difference between being dead and just being sound asleep? I mean from the inside?" Abomentolor asks.
"So dying doesn't hurt?" Niamh asks remembering her question from long ago. "You look a bit... weak. Do I have to feed you or can you eat that pie by yourself?" she teases the gnome.
"Not putting that plate on top of me would have helped but I still can eat myself." Abomentolor replies.
"But how much dying hurt might depend on how you die. My death has been to quick to hurt a lot."
"Maybe I should take care of that before breakfast." Gwenhwyfar tells. She walks to Abomentolor's bed, takes out the pouch of diamond dust and speaks the words and paints a complex pattern in the air with her hand. The diamond dust starts to glow and the glow follows the pattern. At the end she touches Abomentolor infusing him with the glow.
As she is finished she asks "Feeling better?"
"Cool. I'm like new!" Abomentolor replies sitting up toppling over his plate. "Oops." He puts the pie back on the plate and gets out of bed. "I'm going to take my breakfast at the table." He walks there and takes a seat.
"No need to thank me." Gwenhwyfar calls after him. "Just buy two bags of diamond dust worth 1.000 gold each next week." she says with a smile.
Abomentolor almost chokes on his pie. After coughing several times he replies "Dying seems to be really expensive if you don't want to stay dead."
"You had a cheap death." Jimmy says
"I really hope it was expensive for the one who ordered my death and that it will become even more expensive for them in the future. But why do you think my death was cheap?" Abomentolor inquires.
"Mine cost over 25000 gold to fix." Jimmy replies
"Now I'm jealous. I don't want to be the cheap guy!" Abomentolor protests.
"If you want it to be more expensive I can bill you for my services." Gwenhwyfar jokes.
"You know I don't like high maintenance guys." Tauriell states.
"I guess I'm lucky you didn't leave me in that alley then?" Abomentolor asks.
"Yeah. I had a good day." Tauriell replies with a smirk.
"You could have stayed with the Runelord look. It would have been a lot cheaper and it looked better anyway." Abomentolor tells Jimmy.
"You could have stayed dead, a lot cheaper and it looked better anyway." Jimmy replies
"Hey. You got humor!" Abomentolor laughs. "I will suggest that to Mrs. Heidmarch for the next time. Instead of raising me from the dead she could have me animated as a lich."
"Certainly won't help the looks."
"And it wouldn't work anyway. But a simple animate dead together with a gentle repose would be rather cheap, keep the appearance and Abomentolor would do what he is told from then on." Tauriell comments.
"I think I would be morally inclined to destroy him then. I'm not sure if he is good while alive. If he becomes undead I couldn't tolerate his existence." Gwenhwyfar throws in.
"We could put him under your command and he would obey. Wouldn't that make him good?" Tauriell asks.
"It would definitely make me boring." Abomentolor replies not really liking where that leads.
"You're lucky. I like my guys warm and with a pulse." Tauriell comments.
After looking at the park and the buildings of Magnimar that can be seen from the manor grounds Fiona follows inside. "Good morning."
Looking at everyone present she notices a few familiar faces but as she hasn't been introduced to all of them she says "I'm Fiona Samsley. Gwenhwyfar invited me."
"Oh, I forgot. This is my mum, and these are Tauriell, Abomentolor, and Niamh." Gwenhwyfar completes the introduction.
"Ah, good. I thought Mrs. Heidmarch exchanged my babysitter. Does anyone know where she is?" Abomentolor asks.
"No. But she didn't like you anyway. Maybe she just disappeared." Tauriell comments.
Gwenhwyfar grabs a piece of pie. "Shall we go to the temple?" she asks her mum.
"Yes, why not." Fiona replies.
"Then let's go. I can't wait to show it to you."
Gwenhwyfar leads her mum through the town and to the temple.
As they stand in front of the temple Fiona says "That's not the first place that comes to my mind when I think about setting up a temple for the goddess of the sun."
Looking around she adds "Where you live would be much nicer for that."
"And why is this half naked glass woman standing over there?"
"This is a glass golem. We brought that from the Lady's light. Now that you remind me. That could get a problem. But not for now."
"But a temple in the Alabaster District wouldn't be abandoned. And this people here definitely need some light in their lives." Gwenhwyfar replies.
"Come in, I'll introduce you."
Inside she introduces her mum to Thomas and Rosanna as well as Carl and Ernard.
"Nice to meet you." Fiona replies. "Do you mind if I take a look around?" Fiona then takes a look what is left from the original temple.
