Abomentolor takes a seat on the bed. "Hehe. I want an army of her kind for me to be their king." Abomentolor comments.
"It is well known that it was a cult of Urgathoa. Officially that guy who led that cult was trying to cure the disease and he never showed whom he really worshipped. I met him once. Not a very likeable guy."
"Later it was revealed he actually created the disease and made experiments on the sick. He didn't live to tell what he found out." Oriana tells.
Spreading out on the bed Tauriell comments "And your lovely queen was blissfully unaware of these shenanigans."
"I can for sure say that I was." Oriana replies with the hint of a smirk on her face.
"Well. That is a point in your favor. If we let you leave here, what are your plans?"
"Tauriell, would you please open these manacles." Gwenhwyfar asks.
"I will bury all of my dead maidens. And if I find some remaining maidens I'll take care of them. I'm done here. Maybe I return to Magnimar." Oriana replies.
"You are a loyal soldier, that much is clear. We have started an orphanage..." Jimmy says looking at Gwen, to see how she reacts to her telling Oriana
Gwenhwyfar raises an eyebrow listening intently on how Jimmy will end that sentence.
"And one could say it isn't in the best part of town. You obviously know how to fight. We pay well." Jimmy says
Tauriell drags herself out of the bed and tries her luck on the manacles.
The maiden drops to the ground. She removes the manacles from the chains and bags them.
"So I get my stuff back and can leave as I please?" She asks.
Tauriell rises an eyebrow and casts detect magic on the sword.
Her face says unmistakeably no but she waits what Jimmy will say before telling her objection to that.
"It isn't just my choice, and personally I would feel better if you were somewhere where we could keep an eye on you."
"Don't be ridiculous. Once in Magnimar I can evade you faster than you can blink an eye. Or do you want to put me on a lash."
"Also what do you have against me. We were both here to search the riches of this place. You were successful and I was not." she says with a sad look at Loria Peratti - the dead maiden.
"You used to work for a queen who is hated. What I have against you is that I worry for your safety should people find out who you are, and I am unsure as to what you intend to do. Also I feel you could do some good if you worked for us, and it would certainly make your life easier, especially if we put in a good word with our boss on your behalf." Jimmy says thinking for a moment, "A leash isn't the right word, I would like you somewhere I can keep an eye on you though."
"I for one am fine with you leaving. But I'd prefer to add your blade to the riches *I* take away from this place." Tauriell comments.
"What I intended to do is irrelevant now. It is destroyed and can not be brought back to life. I don't know what I want to do know. But I am for sure not worried about my safety. But if it makes you happy I can accompany you back to Magnimar. I wanted to go there anyway. Who is your boss?" Oriana asks.
"Mrs. Heidmarch of the pathfinder society. If you want, we might be able to help with the "dead" bit of your intentions. It may take a while, but we might be able to."
She snorts on that. "I don't believe you're willing or able to bring my maidens back to life."
"But at least your boss is no low life of the city."
"If you can keep your maiden's out of trouble, I would have no reason not to bring them back, again, it may take me a while, but I am sure I can find a way."
Taking a seat besides Abomentolor on the bed Tauriell says "Isn't she a sweetheart. Imagine scar face here consoling the children at the orphanage."
She takes some popcorn out of her backpack and offers it to Abomentolor too watching the scene.
"However, you are right, I am not able to right now. But there is a chance."
"How much are you paying?" Oriana asks.
"I still want her as a personal bodyguard. Imagine her standing behind me and looking with these stone cold eyes at everyone that approaches me."
"And if someone isn't intimidated by that and dares to lay hands on me she'll stab him in cold blood." Abomentolor muses. "I need to count my money." he adds and checks his pouch.
Jimmy eyes Gwen to see what she thinks of all of this.
"How much did you make as a member of the guard?" Jimmy bargains
"Fifty gold a day." Oriana replies with a smirk on her face.
"50 gold a day is a bit much to possibly have to bash a thug over the head. Besides, that is more than anyone will be willing to part with in Magnimar." Jimmy says thinking out loud
"I'm offering ten gold per day for following me around and looking mean." Abomentolor starts the bidding.
Oriana smiles at the gnome's offer but keeps her eyes on Jimmy "Could you please put that spell on yourself too? Or do you really know no one who is willing to pay good coin for serious work? What does Mrs. Heidmarch pay you?" she inquires.
"She doesn't. We are paid in what we find. Information of course has value, and we are rewarded for the information we bring back. One could say it is more a commission than a wage. There are many people who pay well for good work, but very few Queens hiring personal guards." Jimmy replies
"You might have forgotten some of this, but as far as I remember Mrs. Heidmarch paid us 1000gold plus expenses for our first trip together to riddleport. Then her husband paid Gwen 2000 gold for her report. And she gave us three ioun stones for free for our expedition. Plus these compass thingies you got for becoming Pathfinders."
"And how long are we working for her now? Three weeks? Or is it four already?" Tauriell crosses Jimmy's argument.
"As I said, reimbursement for information we have taken back, and I had forgotten about the payment for Riddleport, you are correct there." Jimmy says, "Well, you could say that she does pay us Oriana, but not a salary, she gives us the tools we need to do the things she asks of us. And let's us keep what we find along the way."
"You could introduce me to her. That sounds more like work cut out for me than guarding an orphanage. You wouldn't hire a wizard from the Acadamae to teach reading to the kids, would you?" Oriana replies.
"Hey stop talking to him. He is cheap. If it weren't for Gwenhwyfar the ones he employs would only get half the money. Work for me!" Abomentolor interferes.
"That is actually a better plan. At least that way I can find out what you are up to most of the time." Jimmy says thinking
"That I can live with." Oriana nods to Jimmy and then turns to the gnome. Approaching him and coming just a bit too close and looking down on him she asks "So you want to hire me as a babysitter or what?"
Abomentolor gets up on the bed to stand on eye level with her and leans forward to come even closer. "I need no babysitter. I can kill your kind in the dozen without breaking a sweat. I need someone to make the people treat me with respect. Because most don't offer me the respect I deserve before they are lying dead at my feet." he states staring into her eyes.
Oriana takes a step back quite impressed by this little gomes presence. "Alright." she replies and swallows visibly. Straightening out and regaining her composure she adds "I'll do that until something better from Mrs. Heidmarch comes up. But I want ALL my gear back." She looks at her sword in Tauriell's hands.
Abomentolor smiles and looks at Tauriell
"Aw, f%~& it." she curses and holds out the blade to Oriana.
Oriana takes the sword back and with a smile wipes over the blade. "Would someone please help me back into my armor? I'm feeling kind of naked witout it."
"Here your pay for the first five days." Abomentolor says holding five platinum in his hand.
