Dr. Frennel replies.
" You are right. We can talk inside the gates. There is no need to have this conversation out here. As to them being controlled, that is not good. It will just make taking the ship that much more difficult. I am not much of a fighter so I am getting back inside the wagon. We will talk more once later on."
Unless any of you have something you want to do I will assume everyone is heading back to the warehouse.
Watcher Uatu
After a ride that seems like forever to some the 2nd group arrives at the warehouse without running into any walkers. You do see walkers in the distance, but luckily they do not notice any of you.
For the sake of expediency I will assume everyone is inside the warehouse, and all the doors have been barred. I will continue the story Monday afternoon.
Haundo
Haundo sighs with relief once the last of the cargo, animals and people are inside. With all the doors barred, and the windows covered, this would be the safest they would ever be from the fallen. He was sad tyo hear of another of their small band falling to the fallen, but he couldn't allow that to deter him. "Our animals will be loud enough so we must keep our own noise and light to a minimum. Do not open the covers on the windows unless you stand in shadow. Light will attract them, just as much as noise and smell would. We must be careful. I will take the Nightwatch, my eyes can pierce darkness. Who else can see in darkness?"
De'ohge
De'ohge finds himself a quiet corner of the rafters to hang his hammock from and settles down for the evening. After whispering a few instructions to his familiar, he pulls the blanket around the two of them and rests, hopefully Kira will remember to wake him up in a few hours so he can take his own watch.
De'ohge
Closing his cherished book of spells, that which has been the line between life, such as it is, and the endless wandering of the undead, De'ohge carefully packs it away.
He watches the activity of the people below him as they go about their morning activities. Subdued, and generally quieter than he expected. It was apparent these people had been dealing with the undead for sometime. Of course, there wasn't likely to be anyone still alive that had not been dealing with undead.
His mind made up, De'ohge rolls up his hammock and quietly drops to the ground. A quick glance about and he heads for the tall armored dogfaced one, he seemed to be in charge. He quickly smoothed the grimace that momentarily crossed his face, why does he have to look like a dog?
In Draconic "Greetings, Shiny. I am De'ohge Akumu, practioner of the arcane arts, and conjurer of mysteries. I will join you and your people, my skills are a your service, I ask only that you help me in leaving this a-cursed city." If he is not understood, he will try again in Infernal, then Varisian.
Haundo
Haundo felt his ears burn, he hated the tongue of the dark ones but for some reason it was natural too him. He quirked an eyebrow at the term shiny. He sighs before speaking his voice twisted by the sounds of the dark and ominous infernal tongue. "'amryza, Kroja 'omgan, ca iy' 'onraj 'a raoj vyn dra rydi yv Ockomyz orj yd yrmi kadk 'ynka vnyz rana..."
"Welcome, shade walker, be you warned we head for the city of Absalom and it only gets worse from here..."
Haundo Coughs loudly and clears his throat, he hated that language. Burned his throat something fierce. "If we plan on striking down the [i[learned[/i] we may need help from this resistance... Or we create a distraction, draw the dead away and storm the ship while someone... Leads the dead on a chase."
Dagor Boilkar
Stepping near Haundo, Dagor looks to the small humanoid. "Haven't seen one like that before. Can't speak in a friendly tongue, but at least he ain't dead. Wonder what the issue with this resistance is. The way that mage spoke of it, the damned learned is runnin' them already. Either they suspect a living band like us would be helpin' the undead or the learned has a traitor among 'em. Perhaps both. Don't like the ring of that metal at all..." He looks over De'oghe once more, a hint of suspicion in his eyes. "Got to be sure to keep an eye on him, to be sure."
De'ohge
De'ohge stands and watches the others intently, knowing they are discussing him in that mongrel language typical of those without a multilingual rearing.
Muttering softly to Kira in Goblin, a language he often finds more comforting than his own.
De'ohge perks up at the word resistance, recognizing it's borrowed form. Having found that at least one of them understands infernal,
During the conversation, his familiar Kira, darted around them snapping at any bugs.
Andreas Merona
Listening to the discussion Andreas tries to think Of a distraction and if there is anything he could do "If we don't trust the resistance then why even include them in the plan, these thing are pulled to noise for the most part why don't we take the fastest of us and run around making enough noise pull them away from the docks. When they are a safe distance away we get quiet and double back to meet up with the rest at the docks and take out the Learned ." Andreas waits to see what the other might think.
Haundo
Haundo runs a mailed hand over his muzzle, rubbing it roughly as he thought furiously. "Andreas's plan is a good one, the only problem is that there are Runners among the dead. So whoever distracts them will more then likely not be able to return to us... If the Fallen are not kept distracted, the Learned could call them back." He shuddered at the mere mention of the learned, brief violent memories flashed through his mind of the last time he had faced one... As the shudder passed he paused for a moment and looked down at De'ohge.
"De'ohge 'a kmor dy jykdnord dra vommar, jno'yrk draz vnyz drayn zokdan cavyna 'a kdnyga. Kdorj 'ydr 'k orj Y 'ymm zoga k'na iy' ona vnaa yv dryk 'aog rydi."
He turns to look at his companions and nods to each of them, a determined look in his dark canine eyes. He indicates De'ohge as he speaks. "I believe, De'ohge, will help us but if the resistance decides not to help us. Then I volunteer to be the one who will distract the Fallen, my heavy armor will prevent them from bringing me down too quickly." He kneels and digs in his backpack, pulling out sets his four potions of Cure light wounds on the ground carefully and chuckles at the thought of one potion for each of them. Accept for Himself. "My armor will make enough noise to bring them to me, it will echo and they will stay behind me."
Andreas Merona
Thinking about what Haundo said knowing that might be a suicide mission if done alone "Haundo, I will go with you I am fast and can be an extra set of eyes for you. This task should not be on one man's shoulders. If someone has a buckler I can borrow that will help Kemble me harder to take down."
Haundo
Haundo takes off his old armor and pulls on the magical breastplate that they had in there excess supplies.
"Let us see if they will balk at the task, if they will not help then we will crush this learned on our own. Lead on Tobin."
He turned to Abisi and handed him his hammer and iron spikes. "Seal the door and may the gods protect you all, we will return before night falls my friend."
Let's go find the resistance and get this party started. :)
Haundo
Since we are taking the noncombatants with us, Haundo will try and seal the doors as best he can and exit through a high window so that the inside of the warehouse is sealed. Because I am sure we are not taking the elephant, donkeys and such with us...
Haundo follows quietly after picking up the potions and placing them back within his pack. He held his holy symbol for a moment, enjoying the scrap of the chain across his skin as he prayed silently. Great Cayden, I pray they do not disappoint us...
Lets get this train wreck goin! ;D
Watcher Uatu
What time do you plan leave?
5 to 6am
closer to 10am
2pm
Later
After everything is taken care of the party sets off, taking the same route as last time. You are able to avoid detection by the zombies due to their distance. When you get to the building where you were going to meet the resistance you find a few undead milling about. There appears to be about 5 humanoid zombies.
De'ohge
Once the group started moving out, De'ohge climbed onto the roofs and continued his typical accompaniment via the roof tops.
He has been looking for signs that the plank network has been altered during the trip.
Upon sighting the undead he slows down to keep an eye on how Shiny and his friends will handle them.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Haundo
Haundo draws his battleaxe and waits for the others to get ready before raising his shield and clicking his tongue to get the the attention of one of the zombies. Once they start coming towards them Haundo waits until they get out of the open before engaging them.
Initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Watcher Uatu
I did not forget about you. I will have the map up in a few hours. I want to try doing this combat in initiative order, just to see how it works also.
The format will be
Round X.
Any status effects such as haste or sickness, and the duration if you happen to know it. -->Haste 1/9 rounds
any other info you think will be useful.
De'ohge
initiative order will be slow, so I will post intentions and a round or two of actions so I am not slowing things down too much :) For this combat, De'ohge has disrupt undead, ranged touch, 1d6 dam, and will use it any time he is not directly threatened.
Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
De'ohge takes a moment to study the undead, how threatening are they?
Knowledge:Religion 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
De'ohge will target any within 25' first, any attacking a caster 2nd, and those not yet in melee range third, with his disrupt undead.
Disrupt Undead: Save:no, SR Y, close ranged ray ranged touch 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
damage 1d6 ⇒ 5
If the next round comes up:
De'ohge will target any within 25' first, any attacking a caster 2nd, and those not yet in melee range third, with his disrupt undead.
Disrupt Undead: Save:no, SR Y, close ranged ray ranged touch 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
damage 1d6 ⇒ 2
