Talathel is following the group, looking around and seeing what he can place in his vast knowledge.
Very exhausted from trip, I'll follow Lia (=> O4) for now until I have gotten some decent sleep. If there are any knowledge rolls to be made concerning items in the warehouse, let me know.

Sorry about the delay—I lost internet in my apartment. It's back now however. Onward!

PFS requires me to check beforehand with any player characters if I intend to damage them in a spell/splash damage.
So: Lia, would you mind if I attempt to fry all three rats, calling upon your dice roll aswell to make a reflex save vs Burning hands?
Talathel looks at Lia with a look that is very questionable.
You can see his eyes darken up to the point where there are no pupils visible, and he is very obviously calling upon the arcane powers.
"Lia.. Could you perhaps.. duck?"
Possible spoiler for "Rise of the Goblin Guild":
See this example

![]() |

Lia turns to question Talathel. Then her eyes open wide as she realizes what he's about to do, and she attempts to duck out of the way.
Go for it. Fry away!
Reflex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

![]() |

Talathel's hands begin to glow as if they have been put into an oven, and it doesn't take long for the heat to be strong enough to release into the rats!
"Sorry Lia," he whispers in her ear.
Standard action: Cast burning hands for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 fire damage.
Save: DC 16 Reflex half
Dire rat 1 (reflex): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
>> 2 damage
Dire rat 2 (reflex): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
>> 2 damage
Dire rat 3 (reflex): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
>> 1 damage

I know it's not my turn, but I am unsure if I can post later on so I'll just state my actions now, ok?
Talathel fires one of the plasma orbs he created out of thin air in mere seconds, this time carefully aiming as not to hit Lia (again).
"Don't worry, I am a crack shot with these," he says with a smile that does not have the desired effect with pitchblack eyes...
Standard: Fire force missile > 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
If necessary: Cast defensively 1d20 ⇒ 15
Move: Move back so Lecky can engage, if necessary 5ft.

GM Espri |

Lia's sword tears through the rat in front of her, killing it instantly. The other two rats, with renewed vigor, attack the barbarian.
Standard Action: Attack Lia 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Rat 3
Standard Action: Attack Lia 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 161d4 ⇒ 1
Lia Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
The first rat bites wildly and misses, but the second sinks its teeth into Lia. She feels something foul flooding into her veins, but she fights it off, unaffected.
1 damage to Lia.
The rats are hit by the force missiles from Talathel, and flinch in pain. Talathel then steps back, giving way to Sir Lecky.
Rat 3: 2/5

Morgrim takes a swipe at the nearest rat (R1) with his battleaxe. How much cover does it have?
attack;damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Morgrim curses as the axe misses the rat entirely and hits a nearby barrel, which begins leaking wine/vinegar.

![]() |

Lia yelps in pain as the rat bites her, then turns and swings her blade in an attempt to bisect the creature.
Attacking whichever rat is left: Attack/damage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 112d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3) + 3 = 11
"Dammit, stop moving!"

![]() |

Talathel fires one more of the plasma orbs.
Standard: Fire force missile > 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Move: Move to R7.
"There, that should put an end to these foul creatures.. Yuck!
Anyone see any more?
And Lia, you feeling okay? These things didn't look like they had very good dental hygiene.." he says jokingly.

![]() |

Lia sits down on a conveniently-located crate and inspects the bites on her leg. "Should be fine. I've had worse."
Satisfied that her leg isn't about to rot and fall off, she stands again. "I saw something that might be our crate over that way," she says, gesturing towards it. Without waiting for a response, she heads over to take a closer look.
Assuming the crate I saw is at U/V-14/15, moving to U-12. Perception check in case I need it: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

![]() |

"Yeah, this is it," Lia calls back to the others. "I'm not sure if I can get to it. It looks like the floor might fall in if I get any closer, and I don't know if the papers we're after would survive a swim."

![]() |

Is there a sturdy beam that we could use to attach a rope to, just in case?
"Good eye Lia. Let's make sure we don't put too much weight on it. Anyone got any bright ideas on how to get it out? My magic won't be of much use today, as I didn't prepare for... well, heavy lifting."
He thinks for a little while.
"If nothing else, we could lie flat on the ground, distribute our weight more evenly, until we can drag the crate closer??"
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

![]() |

Assist Lecky 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 against dc 10 knowledge engineering
"Indeed Lecky, we could maybe use that to move the crate to a more secure location, but I know not how to operate such a crane.. What do you think, Stonewall? Lia?"
While thinking it over, Talathel will look around for anything worth his while. The man said we could...
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 or take ten, if that's allowed (for total of 18).

GM Espri |

You think that you would be able to rig the ropes and such around that you could lift the crate with the crane, but that would require someone going out near the crate to hook ropes to it, which might be precarious.
Searching around, you don't find anything terribly useful—mostly old, broken-down tools and the like.

![]() |

"Who here would volunteer to wrap the hooks so we could use the crane? Someone with quick reflexes, in case the floor breaks.I will walk outside and take a breather for a moment, can't take this stench anymore..
After a brief moment,
"Hey, there's a boat outside, I have an idea although this might sound crazy. I'm thinking if we might be able to go underneath and catch the crate? or let it fall then let's retrieve it as quick as we can?"

![]() |

"I could try to get the ropes on. And we'd only need to get the boat under the crate; it couldn't be that hard."
I'm probably the lightest, so I might be our best choice for rope duty.

![]() |

You're also the only one with a rank in Acrobatics. I'll cast Guidance on you once everything's in place.
"When you do try, I will call upon the power of Abadar to aid you. Have you considered shedding your armor before the attempt? There should be enough time to do so while Talathel moves the boat here."

![]() |

Right, let's see if I remember this correctly from uncle Dolarthiel's lessons...
This sounds like an opportunity I shouldn't "play around" with the boat..
>> Wisdom check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Whoah, that's good, should have been a sailor :p

You've got Breadth of Experience, shouldn't that add another +2?
