Hmm, scratch my last action, I forgot that we need the letter opener.

I will probably just rush up to the imp with my shield drawn on my other hand, and show him the letter opener, see what will happen if the imp sees it.

Talathel's magic bolt slams into the creature and it lets out a shriek, while Sir Lecky approaches with letter opener and shield.

The bruises from Talathel's bolt begin to fade with supernatural quickness from the imp right before it, along with the box disappears. While you can all hear the imp flapping quickly about the small room, locating it's exact square is quite tricky Perception DC 26

May I know what is the letter opener? I would think that it's silver and has the stats of the dagger?

"I think somebody needs to get it's attention so once it slows down, maybe we can bullrush it or something with this," then Lecky shows off a very dangerous letter opener.

The letter opener is indeed treated as though it were a silver dagger.

Talathel readies a bolt, in case the imp becomes visible again.

Actually, the way this works is the imp flies around the room destroying things until reduced to half before he'll even pay attention to you. While I think it could be a fun and playful encounter on the tabletop, I think it'll be long and tedious in pbp so I'm going to resolve it via GM fiat.

Morgim looks down, to see what toy of the Paracountess has spoiled his footing and sees a silver tipped riding crop beneath his feat.

After almost a minute of chasing the invisible creature around the room it finally gets mad enough to sting Morgrim, becoming visible. In its rage however it missed.

After that it is easy enough to subdue the creature.

“Yes, you’ve bested me, but I don’t wish to leave so soon. Take the blasted box, and tell Mistress Dralneen I deserve what comes my way.”

Says the imp as it sullenly hands over the now dented, but otherwise unharmed box.

Not quite, but I was busy finishing up my final final yesterday. I'll have some more details up in a bit.

On your way back to the Grand Lodge...

A throng of people blocks the street ahead. A performance art group commandeers the street, drawing graffiti to create a jolly hellscape complete with illusory devils comically dancing around in circles. A few citizens avoiding the crowd slip off-street through a nearby alley, the only egress past the gathering.

Following through the alley, the crowd suddenly begins dispersing.

Any PC who has already succeeded on one of the checks to notice the tailing thugs (I think just Lia?) may act in the surprise round. Additionally other PCs may make a perception or sense motive check to be able to act. I will describe more after checks are made.

Everybody but Talathel spots the mustached halfling {L} ahead as the crowd begins to disperse.

Along with him are are:

A gray masked young and lithe woman, with red hair hanging in ringlets that just brush her shoulders. She wears a long skirt, embroidered with silver and black thread and a high-necked woolen blouse. {D}

A unarmored human female with full golden blonde hair framing her healthy, smiling face, punctuated with steely blue eyes and thick red lips. She wears a well-made, green silk dress in the most current fashion with a shimmering black scarf draped across her shoulders. {H}

A human male with a face you could easily forget or miss in a crowd—short-cropped light brown hair, light complexion, and forgettable brown eyes—he wears rumpled worker’s clothing with a heavy coat over his chain shirt. {W}

MAP

They do indeed have weapons drawn, the halfling has a greataxe, the masked woman has a short sword, the blond woman has a dagger and the forgettable man has a rapier.

The forgettable man seems nervous at Morgrim's approach and hesitates for a moment, as though looking for a sign from his companions before darting around to get behind Morgrim.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 I don't think Morgim currently threatens, but if he does feel free to take an AoO.

The Masked Woman steps back and casts a spell.
"Norgorber protect me,"
before indicating to her companions that it is time to attack.

Lecky, I think the ability to wield a polearm one handed doesn't come till level 3 of Phalanx Soldier, is there something else I'm missing? Also, because you have a BAB of at least 1 you can draw a weapon or shield as part of a move action, but not both at the same time.

Moving to K4, drawing sword.

MAP
Ya the rules for actions and drawing things, especially in surprise can be a bit confusing at times .However you can either draw the shield or the flail as part of the move action but not both. I'll Move Lecky forward with the flail and you are welcome to ready the shield on your next turn. Let me know if you'd rather have the shield out instead and I'll change the naration

Lecky moves forward with his flail, ready to confront the danger head on.

The Halfling responds to your questions, an evil gleam present in his eyes.

"We're takin' yer stuff, and we ain't leavin' no witnesses."
The halfling then lets out a terrifying shout as his eyes go completely red and he steps forward and takes a wild swing at Mor, that comes up just short.

Lia closes as best she can, with Lecky taking up the space she hoped to be in.

Finally the golden haired woman waves her hands and the alleyway is engulfed in mist. The Edge of the fog is between K & L so that Lecky is just outside the fog. (I noted a border on the map, but it's hard to see)

The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

When making attacks please include a concealment roll if appropriate with low indicating a miss.

The boards are giving me some serious issues here. I posted after Morgrim and it disappeared and I posted right after Lecky and it disappeared. Here's a brief summary, that I've pasted from notepad in case it disappears too.

The forgettable man stabs at Morgim, but not before Morgrim can stab at him. They both however miss.

Morgrim sees two of the masked woman step into view (Sharing a square). They both miss Morgim with their short swords.

Lecky is currently flanking the forgettable man, who is just insider the fog, with Morgrim. Despite the flank, Sir Lecky misses.
