"What? What? Oh! Huzzah!" Henry raises his sword in the air and leaps atop his pygmy dinosaur, ready to charge the fortress!


Eurdan frowns at Xue’s question and shakes his head. ”Efreeti are true genies. They are gifted with multiple powerful magics and are known to be skilled swordsmen. Tygora is no exception.”

A short time later the party a small army of oread laborers and craftsmen stand outside the Council House with weapons in hand. They appear somewhat nervous but determination is visible in their eyes. After a signal from Eurdan they spread out, sweeping through Crystalcrag while subduing any ifrits they find. The fighting is intense but brief and a handful of hours later the city is secure. All that remains is Tygora’s burnished throne.

Fury’s Hold is a massive, fortified palace with elaborate architecture that hints at its magical origins. The structure combines thick walls made of solid bronze juxtaposed with delicate, sweeping features that seem to defy gravity. Tygora’s elite ifrit soldiers guard the enormous front gates alongside a pair of huge fiery elementals. At Eurdan’s command the oread charge forward smashing into their wayward children and largely clearing the way for the party to advance.

The enormous elementals, utterly loyal to their efreeti master, barely acknowledge the halfling’s command.

Though both elementals are huge and fiery they are clearly two different types. One is willowy with a dancing ephemeral form. The other hulks with a frame like a brawny dwarf. The hulking one lumbers forward and smashes a huge fist into the mounted Xue while the other springs forward, strikes at Henry’s noble steed, and then darts away.

Normally yes but in the case of creatures with burn it's equal to the damage of their burn attack (2d6 for these guys).

Unfortunately the point of Henry's lance misses its mark as the enormous tower of living flame avoids the blow. Xue has more luck connecting once with his exotic blade.

The elementals strike back, proving their intelligence in the way they spread their consuming flames among those seeking entrance into the palace.

No reflex is necessary for the bite because you missed. Also, you're already on fire.

He tries to do the same for Henry, but can't quite deflect the blow. Bodyguard for +4 AC, which puts him at 27 with haste I believe. He might be able to drop down behind his mount for cover.

Han’s chastisement isn’t quite so gallant but it’s inspiring enough to set Henry’s errant charge on the right path and he slams into the elemental with deadly force and it only takes one more blow for the heroic halfling to strike down his opponent reducing its once mighty force to a pile of inert ash. The rest of the party piles onto the second elemental, wearing it down with sword slashes, inspired arrows, and tiny jets of magical frost. The huge elemental slows but doesn’t fall and it rears back to smash into Red Hair again.

Xue and Henry struggle to strike the swiftly dancing elemental but Mrachni’s sword and Han’s arrows finish it off before it can spread anymore of its deadly flames.

Ah sorry. I guess I'm a little confused on mounts, my first dedicated mounted character. What action am I taking under the ride skill? I see guide with knees, bur thats free. Or is this specific "when you move, mounted or not, no iteratives?"
