Wise Fox and others - I'm going to be stepping down since I won't be available this weekend to get started. I messaged Feral and he told me he's got a list of alternates, so you shouldn't have a problem getting someone else before Friday.
Sorry - I missed out when our local PFS group ran this, but I understand it's a lot of fun.

Since this is a time sensitive event, I'm going to provide a bit of info on my posting availablity and obviously the GM can GMNPC me if the game is delayed because of me.
I'm EST, and can usually post fairly well (pending work) from 8am-4pm, 4pm-7:30pm I'm almost never on the computer, and evenings vary widely, but I can usually do 1-2 posts before I head to bed at around 11 pm.
Lucerne hammer: +8 for 1d12+9, remove power attack if the foe seems unusually evasive/armored
Uses Gory Finish on the strike if there is more than 1 foe, +11 Intimidate for all foes that can see to be shaken

Hello everyone!!
For my own posting. I'm CST. For this week I'll be closing at work, which varies but is usually noonish to nineish. I spend FAR too much time on my computer and will usually have the paizo forums open on a second screen depending on what I'm doing. At work I usually can have the forums up, but actually checking them is a different thing (I guess they actually want me to do work or something). My biggest issue with posting days are Sundays. That's my tabletop group (well, virtual now). I still have the forums up and whatnot, but I do get distracted easier there.
Strat's a fairly straightforward cleric. Fire and Healing domains. Not much in the way of domains. His build.....isn't the best and I really don't know where I'm taking him. Thus far his exploits have been standing in front of a door to prevent enemies from mobbing us while healing, lighting a web on fire with PCs in it (with their blessing), and being kind of dense.

Rhyno! Glad you'll be joining us (this is Kalt, from your RoW game).
Looks like we have two melee characters in Rhyno and Terrill and a door-blocking cleric in Strat. Something in the arcane vein, RyanH?
GM - if it's possible to use Google Docs for maps, that would be great. Roll20 is blocked for me at work, which will slow down my posting significantly. Terrill's alias is now updated to level 4, also.

There went the neighborhood! lol
I'm going to delay bringing Rhyno into the gameplay thread until after the others show up. Figure to come in late since I was sent to the wrong room and what not.
| The Wise Fox |
Since this is a timed event and you guys will essentially be plunged into a warzone, you may want to elect a leader among yourselves to call the shots on where the party is going and what the party will be doing.
I'm going to begin gameplay for roleplay at 7 PM Pacific, since I tend to get up a little late.

Just read through them. Tough call. Seoni would have a higher AC, but Ezren has more HP and better saves. Similar on the spells. Seoni's more direct damage, little more focused by Ezren has better variety. If it were me, I'd probably pick Seoni myself, mainly because less spells to flip through for a pregen. But up to you.
Terrill Mayern
|
I've only played Ezren as a pregen, so can't really compare with Seoni, but at 4th and 7th level I found him surprisingly fun and effective. Since we'll be in a big battle, Seoni may be more effective - I don't know if she's got more blasting spells or battlefield control, but the latter could certainly be useful.
| The Wise Fox |
Whoever you choose to become leader should be able to post frequently. Also, the leader will also be responsible for using anyone's character's if the player is late in posting. Nothing bogs down a PbP like a player who posts late. Due to the nature of this special being carefully watched by the admins and being timed, I'm not inclined to take actions for players to move things along. If a player is late and no one takes control of that player, I'll put him into delay, and he will essentially loose a round.
Please pick a leader by Saturday, when the first important decisions will take place.

I don't feel a need to be the leader of this gang, but I'll step in if no one else wants it. I can generally post multiple times a day, though if we go beyond 2.5 weeks with this game, I'll slow down some as I'll be travelling for work starting Feb 26 - but I'll still keep up.
Terrill Mayern

Okay, sounds good.
Wise Fox - Terrill will buy some cold iron arrows to replace his regular ones.
Gang - Oil of Bless Weapon is pretty nice too, gets through DR and auto-confirms crits against the beasties we're likely to fight.

Interesting, Hero Lab only has Seoni at 3rd level, and with some significant changes ... had to change it to match the official Seoni.

I am seriously stuck in the Tokyo airport, by the worst snowstorm they've had here in decades. I can get intermittent wi-fi, and will have plenty of time on my hands, so I'll try to stay in the game, but if I disappear for the weekend, that's why.
| Seon'i |
regarding Seoni's diplomacy … good point … it's not listed on her PDF, so I think I checked hero lab and thought I saw +2, but it is +4 because of char (with no ranks). I was DM'ing my first session of Rise of the Rune Lords yesterday, so my attention was split.

Poke?
The other groups are zipping ahead of us! I know we were at a disadvantage because out leader got snowed in in Tokyo, but lets GO!
As an aside, I'm in the northeast US, and we've been getting storm after storm, and I've lost power a few times already this year. WE are supposed to get another storm on thursday, so if Rhyno is needed, please NPC him.

Just want to apologize for the initiative information not being in the status bar. The format I have for Strat's sheet is the one I started using when I first did PBPs. I've since found ones that are easier, but haven't updated Strat's sheet to it yet.

I live in the north east, and we're expecting a nasty ice storm tomorrow, so my power will probably go out for like the 8th time this winter.
Also, Friday is my wedding anniversary in addition to V-day, so to say thoughts of gaming will be far from the forefront of my mind is an understatement.
That said, GM me as necessary.
| Seon'i |
Been very tame here on the West side this year … Seoni is about to act …
| Seon'i |
So much happens during the second half of my work day and I can never check after lucnh!

Fox - I'm almost certain from the description that Terrill has fought this type of demon before. How much character knowledge can I use, since I don't have training in the relevant knowledge skill?
In response to your question: PFS#: 80015-1, faction is Andoran, and I'll be applying this chronicle to Terrill Mayern.

I'm back, sorry for any issues caused by my absense.
Life has had its ups and downs over the past few days, but we aren't here to listen to other peoples gripes.
After nearly being torn appart, did we have time for someone to heal Rhyno, or did he die after the fireball and 20+ claw damage dropped him to negatives just before the scene ended?
Terrill Mayern

Is there a way we can accelerate the loading and firing of the huge ballista, by adding more PCs to working on it? Or is it always 5 rounds?
Terrill Mayern
|
OK, thanks. Sometimes Paizo writes these challenges so more PCs can make a difference. This time it's more like a clock running - that one of us has to keep running - while we fight off the demon hordes.
| Seon'i |
It's really a silly mechanic, I don't care here, but if I was at PaizoCon or GenCon having spent time and money to be there I would not be too happy about spending 5-15 rounds or whatever it works out pretending my character was turning a crank. Needs to add some skill checks and some tactic ... decisions of where to shoot, rolling to shoot, etc.
Rhyno Steelarm
|
Or have each PC be able to impact the firing. 5 standard actions needed. 1person 5 rounds or 5 people 1 round, either way, once you get 5 actions, you can shoot it.
