"GGRRAAAH!" His spell completed Aod doubles in size as he charges across the battlefield at the schir facing Hailey. Overestimating his bulk, he stumbles and misses badly with his sword.
Power Attack Charge: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Ezren casts expeditious retreat on himself, then steps back and shouts out to the Schir. "You're a gutless coward who couldn't kill a wizard even if he was tied up as a sacrifice! I bet I could kill you with nothing but a stick, but it'd be much easier for me to kill you with a picture of your mother!"
COME AT ME BRO.

Last time we healed some crusaders we got some healing and items out of it...is that a one shot deal? Or do we get something each time we heal one (or more of them?)
Hailey does a full retreat and moves towards the newly discovered crusader.

"Sarion, I've got these 3 but I will be exposed to demon attacks. can you protect me if one shows up? I can't keep this up for long, either we start collecting these crusaders together after this...or we need to start healing them in a different way after this."

One round passes.
The demons to the north are still amazed by Ezren's might.
The demon to the south moves in to attack Aod, finding him to be a vulernable target.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

hps: full at 45 again
Perception to find wounded crusaders: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
We didn't find any new crusaders last round?

![]() |

"Gutless cowardly ****spawned bastards!" Ezren continues the stream on insults, running directly away from his companions and the injured crusaders. "Come get me, I'm a wizard and I'll gut you all with a knife!"
Double move action. With expeditious retreat active I should be booking. I'm just trying to get as much heat off of the others as possible. I'll be back once they're a safe distance away.

![]() |

Maybe we should so something about those cultist while they are still stunned? Otherwise they will just come back later and we'll have to deal with them anyway..let's at least steal their weapons and then run away ;)

![]() |

Not sure if it's allowed to change actions...but maybe Sarion could head back there now and hit them a few times?.
Also I'm starting to doubt that there is an "end" to this (like save 10 crusaders and you've got them all)..but more that this will keep going on for a while. Running low on channels...so switching to some other form of healing after this one...maybe try a heal check if I can reach one...unless offcourse we find heaps and heaps of them near each other ;)

![]() |

You did find more crusaders; I just moved them around on the map after you healed them.
The cultists remain stunned.
The Schir attempts a retreat, but dies in the ensuing attack of opportunity.
Dice: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Suddenly, from the ranks, a half-orc clad in blood-soaked vestments walks forward. He levels a gaze at Sarion and Hailey, then says, "This ends here! Rovagug demands that the Worldwound be opened!"
He casts a spell. Saving throws:
Hailey: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Sarion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Both Hailey and Sarion save. Unfortunately, they are also Good-aligned outsiders.
Damage: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 5, 4, 6, 5, 2) = 28
Each take 14 unholy damage.

Hoping his comrades will keep the Half-orc (and the cultist) away from her Hailey starts to move towards a big cluster of wounded crusaders while casting magic circle vs evil on herself (going to last an hour).
Perception to spot new wounded crusaders: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
"Let's try to stay together so we can help each other out when needed"
Unless something changes, my plan..if you can take out/keep busy the half-orc I double move around it into the next pile of wounded crusaders and heal at least 4 of them (and you guys) with another channel...but it's going to take 2 rounds...Maybe it's better if Sarion goes for the cultists and Aod for the half-orc, or quickly try to take out the half-orc..then team up on the cultists....up to you guys
AC vs evil 19, saves vs evil +2 hps: 31 (45-14)

"Aye!" Aod replies to Hailey with a grim nod. "Sarion, the orc first! To it's flank!"
Aod moves to one side of the half-orc and readies to swing when Sarion comes in from the opposite direction.
Power Attack + Flanking: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 10 + 2 = 26
Damage: 2d8 + 11 ⇒ (2, 6) + 11 = 19

Posting a bit early, since I'll be leaving for a convention soon.
After Sarion acts, the half-orc acts. He tries to cast a spell! Opposed caster level checks from Ezren's dispel magic:
Half-orc: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Ezren: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
The spell fizzles!
Aod charges, finding his mark easily.
Hailey finds additional crusaders.
The half-orc grins, then takes a five-foot step back, and casts another spell. He seems to grow in power.
Dice: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Another Babau attempts to surprise Ezren with a longspear attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
It's a good one!
Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 7 + (6, 4) = 18

![]() |

Sarion still has to take an action..but after that
Hailey cast a spell, summoning a spear of brilliant pure light and send it hurling through the air at the babau and then moves closer to a cluster of 5 wounded crusaders searching for more wounded along the way, while stopping next to Aod to grant him the benefits of the magic circle vs Evil (for at least 1 round).
(Casting spear of purity at the babau)
Perception to find more wounded crusaders: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Damage vs evil outsider: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 6, 5, 6) = 28 Will save DC17 for half damage and to avoid being blinded for 1 round
To overcome SR: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"Ezren try to get close to the rest of us for protection"
Round after that the plan is for Hailey to move again, search for crusaders while moving (4 west) and then channel..healing at least 5 crusaders, myself, Aod and if they move within range Sarion and Ezren as well

Sarion, you are a round behind. You should probably take another attack (maybe even 2).
Aod continues fighting the half-orc.

The Babau winks out of existence.
Sarion connects once and fails once. The priest looks injured.
His turn:
The priest brings his battle axe down upon Sarion! Full attack:

Attack 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Attack 3: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Two hits!
Damage: 2d12 + 22 ⇒ (9, 2) + 22 = 33
He spits in the paladin's face.
Aod connects, damaging the priest slightly.
Ezren attempts to flee and does!
The orc grabs his unholy symbol and tries to channel negative!
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 3) = 13
Will saves:
Sarion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Aod: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Hailey: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Sarion and Hailey save for half.
"Behold, the power of Rovagug!"

Wow, three attacks? He must be hasted or something.
Realizing how dire the situation is, Ezren draws upon his arcane bond, ripping the primal magic into existence to cast haste on the party.
I still have an emergency dimension door to gtfo in a hurry, but I'm out of flashy spells.

Ezren hasn't been moving himself on the map. I've moved him a couple times, sort of randomly away from enemies. With his recent post he indicated he was moving to us, so he should be close enough to benefit from that channel energy too. Anyway, I'm heading out for a few hours. Bless weapon coming up..no problem there. And we actualy got an oil of align weapon from one of those first crusaders we healed (we never decided who got that one, so for all we know your carrying that)..so got that covered as well...you get to pick ;)
So my hps are 35, sarion's at 26+12 for my cure = 38?, Aod's at 31 and Ezren should be at (30+11,from my last channel) 41 hps, or did I miss something?
So next round Sarion heals Aod, I bless Aod's weapon..Aod.....hit something if something new shows up? And otherwise heals a crusader or one of us with a wand?
Ezren still has 2 potions of cure light and Aod and Sarion have a potion of invisibility each we got from those bank robbers, Someone has an oil of align weapon and we got one +1 demon-bane arrow....if someone has a bow to use it
