Nah, it won't generally be that many because several of the traps take more than one phase to construct. There should be a slideshow linked in Gameplay by the GM that details each trap, what it does, and how long it takes to build it :)

Thanks...I saw that but, if I read it right, several of the traps were only 1 phase to create...that's why I was thinking there could be potentially that many...

Sorry guys. Two players from my middle and high school group are in town (one hasn't played F2F in more than a decade.) Building and running a one shot for them. Will be back at it ASAP.

Happy New Year, guys! I proved just how exciting of a life I lead when I came home from work last night and (more or less) promptly went to bed :P

Happy New Year!
That's all Fazgyn's traps done. I'm not entirely sure what you guys meant about the pit, so if you feel there is a better location for it, let me know and I can move it. ;)
The Lady's Pregen |
By the way, she can't use it on herself but Engashez can use Inspire Competence to give anyone else that needs it a skill boost on their trap-making - just say the word!
Dungeon Master S |
Varanog (Turmoil) you around?
The Lady's Pregen |
From peeking at some of Turmoil's other aliases, it looks like they've been having internet trouble - possibly due to the foul weather in some parts of the country.
Dungeon Master S |
In order to recover momentum (and because it's a pregen character) I'm 100% with someone botting.
Iconic Dude |
Hey DMS,
Can I change the character this credit is going to? Sorry, but I missed the part where one of the GMs mentioned you can't credit someone who's playing in another scenario...
Dungeon Master S |
Aye. I don't mind the switch (though it's something to be careful about.)
Iconic Dude |
Thanks, DMS...and I'll try to be more aware (and careful) in the future. The character is below:
Player Name: Otha
PC Name: Daedîn
PFS#: 239913-6
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: N/A
Perception and vision/senses: ?
Initiative: ?

Holiday breaks, and busy players can cause a game to lose steam. One of the ways I try to take it back is to make rapid fire posts. It's not a solution for everyone, but it works. The key is that they have to be good posts, not just quick. This next scene is complex and large, so I'm looking at my schedule today for when I can give it my all (which happens to be during my office hours; 1430-1430 EST)
Dungeon Master S |
So it's not strictly by the rules, but I don't mind updating a PbP player's post to improve an action if the situation changes. In this case, there was a solid hit that would have been wasted since the foe was dead. I ONLY do that as the GM when I know it'll be beneficial, otherwise I wait for the player to decide.
The Lady's Pregen |
Okay, I think I got the two traps I was thinking of more or less situated back on the map! I'll try and see if I can come up with anything else for Engy to do while we wait for the next bunch tomorrow morning :)
Dungeon Master S |
Spell templates! I find that ESPECIALLY in APs, but really any game, having quick access to them can make life a lot easier. I keep a file on hand for my games, and in APs I link to it.
I tend not to link it for players in pick up games, because people have messed with the templates before.
Take a look HERE
The Lady's Pregen |
Haha, that's quite an interesting collection! I believe it was GM Granta who linked a bunch in one of the GM schools or somewhere; his is set up to view-only but I was still able to copy the one I used just now :)
Dungeon Master S |
This part is tricky. This scene has been going on for a long time, but such is the nature of this scenario. The third wave, the one that comes through the portal isn't supposed to be combat (literally) our of the gate, but at the same time, it'd be a shame nt to see this wall of traps in action. So I've kept the verisimilitude as tight as possible while allowing the scene to progress. I suspect this scene will be short, with a fittingly comical end...
Dungeon Master S |
Ahhhhh.... the "optional" encounter. The mirror is trapped, but the scene is optional based on "time remaining" in a slot. If you've ever played at a convention this is a much bigger deal.
After 500 tables of PFS, I can count on one hand the number of times it's been run. Honestly I don't run in PbP for all the reasons you dont see it in F2F, with the added component of pacing. PbP tends to tricky when it comes to maintaining momentum. I find that it's juuuuust right without the extra encounter.
The Lady's Pregen |
And a lot of the time, from what I've seen, the optional encounter doesn't really add anything to the story anyway. In cases like that, I'd usually skip them too unless we had the extra time and the group wanted a little extra challenge/combat.
Also off to work; bot me as needed and I'll check back in later today/tonight!
Dungeon Master S |
That's often the same reason it gets skipped face to face. All risk, no reward.

Hi, I couldn't get into the site earlier, damn goblins! And I don't want to put us behind schedule, today is turning out to be a complicated day on my end. Could I be botted? I'll try to chime in again tomorrow =)
Dungeon Master S |
I'll leave this thread open until I hear from everyone, or Wednesday, whichever comes first. Let me know if you need anything changed.
You can always PM me or grab me on the boards!

Chronicle is good Chris. Thanks again for all the fun and tips =)
