Kai's powerful show of martial might finally lays the demon low. Unable to teleport away, it dies in the Tanglebriar!
Whatever foul magics kept the leeches here melt away and they go off on their own. You are free to cut open the chrysalises and extract the elves within. Only one elf passed away in the battle, which is FAR better than the Uprooters expected to fare.
The leader, Lanverel, weakly offers thanks before questioning you His anger quickly overcomes his wounds. The questions are fast, "
why the bloody hell would anyone have permitted “mercenaries” into Kyonin to perform a rescue mission rather than sending “proper elves?”
He further demands to know the name of every officer responsible for abandoning him and his comrades. While the other elves look sheepishly on, you do not receive a hero's welcome.
While it's obvious that he is angry, you sense that Lanverel is plotting some form of revenge. on Elven command for this.
As a follower of Calistria, Lanverel’s vengeance is likely to be painful but not intentionally lethal.

What an ungrateful snot the thought flashes through Varlaniel's mind as the golden haired elf looks at the demon ichor staining his diplomat's robes. Cleaning 'Maiden's Kiss' before sheathing the blade at his hip and turning his attention to the other Uprooters, ignoring the captain. He gives a low bow.

"HURK!" Balik manages to finish losing his lunch in the briars. He straightens up and staggers over toward the elves. "Well, I canna speak fer my comrades, but I've nae been a proper elf since I was 10, laddie. We came ta help ye and yer men, and it were a sad state o' affairs what brought us here. But yer vengeance's between ye and the Lady ye serve, lad. But might wanna temper yer wrath with some wisdom, if nae fer yerself then fer yer people there. Vengeance's a dish best served cold, I hear tell. And yer Lady will savor a good cold dish well seasoned o'er a hot one that gets yer pointy ears in a mess o' trouble."

Ozak's words cut through the trauma, and the elf gradually calms down. With Fihralaz defeated and with the assistance of any surviving elves, you have little difficulty escaping from Tanglebriar and reuniting with the Uprooters at Mount Armiya. Another group of elves arrives soon thereafter to receive a report of your success and escort you safely out of Kyonin.
Waiting for you at the border is a messenger who informs you of General Tenasi’s appreciation of your service and the promise of elven allies at a time and place to be named by the Pathfinder Society. The society also rewards you by paying a monetary bonus for a job well done.
Well played Pathfinders! I managed to sneak in a bit of time, and I reported the session. Chronicles are going to be PMed ASAP! I'll leave the thread open until about lunch time tomorrow!"
