    Round 5
Ferox again takes aim at the northern-most construct and hopes his shot is true.

    Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
    Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

A solid hit. The creature is showing the signs of damage. Utterly devoid of emotion, it fights on heedless of the damage it's taken.

    Odric

    King of Korvosa

    Round the Fifth

Odric's sweat slickened hands regrip the leather wrapped handle of The Eagle. The wrapping is sticky with old dried blood, sweat and feces.

He jukes one way, then the other. a quick fake, a feint all to no avail. The creature is unfazed by any misdirection the fighter tries. Its unblinking gaze is fixed on Odric's smouldering eyes with a vacant intensity that frankly unnerves the big man.

Odric gives up all pretense at tactics when he realizes he is having no effect on the creatures. He inhales sharply and attempts a huge swipe of the heavy pick laterally across his body from left to right. His shoulder muscles ripple with the effort, and the strike is controlled and deliberate as opposed to some of the wild, powerful attempts he has made recently.

    1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 FFS, a 15 better hit.

The swing continues through the air towards the second death's head.

    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

I'm sorry Odric, but the first swing just barely misses. The magic number is 16....

    Morkeleb

    ROUND 5

Morkeleb believes that between himself and Ferox, their continued worrying at the same beast is taking its toll--enough that maybe one more hit ought to do it . . .

Magic Missile on the same one M and Ferox have been hitting

    MM Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

    King of Korvosa

    Good lord.

The northern construct just barely withstands the blast. Gaius, can you seal the deal?

    Male Half-Elf Unchained Rogue 4/Cleric 11; Trapspotter 22; Init: 5; AC: 31; T: 18; FF: 30; HP: 145/122; Fort 9, Ref 13, Will 11

If I can get through the bloody DR.

Gaius takes advantage of the flank and tried to slide his rapier right into the joint at the, "neck".

    Sneak Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

    AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    Male Dwarf Fighter 15 Urban Ranger 2 AC=32 (CMD base 37+ specials); T=16; FF=29; HP 183/183; Init+8; Per +22; +18F+14R+9W

let a real dwarf take a try at it

    Axe defensive 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 6 - 4 = 21
    Damage 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

arghhhhhh if I hit te dmg I low if I miss good dmg

The creatures fight on, they get neither tired nor discouraged:

    The one to the North bites at Gaius,1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 but the half-elf dodges easily.

    The uninjured one lashes at Sandor,1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 and nearly cracks a tooth on his shield.

    Finally to the South is Odric's foe, 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9. Desna laughs!

Sandor returns the attack, but he's got the wrong tool for the job. Grym continues to twitch. He begins to come out of it though as Gaius steals a look at the ranger beneath him. Phil, Grym can take no actions until the baddies go, but after he can act normally

Ferox, now is the time to sway the course of battle!

Up to date battle map here.

    I'll IM Rich.

I believe you did not--but S can correct me if I'm in error. However, for future reference, if the context isn't clear, you'd need to specify S or S. In this case, S was clearly who you meant, so no worries.

    King of Korvosa

You can call me S if you want :)

    Round the Sixth

Odric stops, takes a breath. Sets The Eagle down for a moment and collects his thoughts. He rolls his neck twice to the right, then twice to the left. He shrugs his shoulders three times slowly while battle rages about him. His eyes closed, a peaceful look on his face and a relaxed aura surrounding him, the warrior recenters himself, preparing to fight with some positive effect.

He snaps open his eyes, suddenly remembering where he is and what he is supposed to be doing when he hears Ferox's blunt arrow whistle by his head.

He grabs the shaft of The Eagle and resurrects his favorite spin move. With a leap and a shout, Odric swipes through the two stubbornly resilient constructs with a vigor and intensity that was lacking in his efforts thus far in this melee.

    Power attack with heavy pick, cleaving through both constructs: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 1 = 19 for 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11 damage and 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 - 1 = 18 for 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12 damage.

Splintering bone, clattering pebbles and some remnants of the filth that had been coating The Eagle fly. Odric lands with a grin. Wizard! Smite them with your missiles of magic!

Odric smashes through the first construct, shattering the skull and dweomer binding it together. The middle monster (now the Southern) takes a massive hit from the fighter as well.

    Morkeleb!

    ROUND 6

    With great pleasure.

Magic Missile on the wounded southernmost enemy.

    Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Morkeleb opts for the less damaged target, relying upon Gaius to finish the deed. The wizard's barrage continues to splinter bone...

    Gaius

    Male Half-Elf Unchained Rogue 4/Cleric 11; Trapspotter 22; Init: 5; AC: 31; T: 18; FF: 30; HP: 145/122; Fort 9, Ref 13, Will 11

Gaius tries for another sneak attack.

    Sneak Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

    Threaten. Confirm:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

    Normal hit.

    Damage:1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + (4) = 9

Step East 1 with a flourish of the rapier.

The flourish of the rapier is fast and smooth - and well deserved. with extreme point control, he stabs through the top vertebra and destroys the second construct. All that remains is one.

And that one bites at Sandor 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11. The attack is so feeble that no one notices the dwarf even trying to defend against it.

    Sandor is up!

Dang, didn't realize that one was less damaged, would have shot at the other!

It ended up working out better for us. Now there's only one left.

    Male Dwarf Fighter 15 Urban Ranger 2 AC=32 (CMD base 37+ specials); T=16; FF=29; HP 183/183; Init+8; Per +22; +18F+14R+9W

Sandor feels the strength of numbers and changes his tactics a little. He gets low and draws the skull to strike. When the time is right the stumpy yet powerful legs uncoil catching the foul construct with his shield pushing it back pinning it to the wall as it recoils looking to pull free Sandor slides to the side and steals a move he watched Odric do. He spins around gaining speed on his trusty axe flips it to the flat of the blade and attempts to crush the skull between the axe and wall.

    Axe flat blade 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 - 4 = 18
    Damage. 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

my 5' step is to the side that sets up the best flank I can't see the map right now

    Male Human Ranger 17, AC 30, HPs 202/202, Int +5, Fort +17, Ref +15, Will +9 (Bucho AC 31 HPs 175/175, Fort +18, Ref +13, Will +8 +4morale)

The ranger lets out a sharp yell and pulls himself up to a squatting position. Sword in one hand and off hand on the ground in a tripod position. Grym seems to recover some bit of energy as he gives a nother short battle cry then he launches himself at the hated skull construct.
    Svord 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
    Unarmed strike 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 damage 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The rangers blade slices high toward the skull. As the blade nearly connects the skull suddenly jerks downward just under the sword. As if he planned the svord as a feint the rangers knee shoots up smashing into the construct...

Sandor's swing is a hit, but the blade cuts bone that is unhindered by nerves and the slice does little.

Grym, it's a move action to stand, 5' step to get in range, leaving time for one swing. For the sake of expediency, let's call it the punch, which rocks the thing's head back for a second. It comes back sans a few teeth.

    Start Round *7*!

I didn't prepare well for this dungeon. I've been pissed at myself for awhile now.

Hey, we were thrown here in a hurry, having prepared for a chase/capture. I've got mostly enchantments prepared, can't use thsoe on undead/constructs. Don't be too hard on yourself--the chase happened on the same game day.
    .
Hey, S, if you could post a comment why not your round 7 action too, you dinkus?!?! YEs, ferox is next, but there's only one target!!

    King of Korvosa

If someone else snuck in and took the killing blow from me, I would be ticked off... Then again, we are in the weekend at this point.

    Male Human Wizard (Enchanter: Controller) 17 Init +6; AC=19; T=16; FF=17; HP 23 / 92

Hey, when one of us gets the kill, we ALL get the kill. And this is the last foe--the story can progress once we're out of battle. The only reason I'm not posting my action is I may not need to use the wand charge!!

    Male Half-Elf Unchained Rogue 4/Cleric 11; Trapspotter 22; Init: 5; AC: 31; T: 18; FF: 30; HP: 145/122; Fort 9, Ref 13, Will 11

Chill, guys. Rich is a busy guy on weekends. We may not get an action until Monday morning.

Autopilot of Ferox: Ferox delays, hoping he can save the expensive blunt arrow for another day...

    Odric, can you end this?

    King of Korvosa

    Round the Seventh

    A mighty swing!1d20 + 3 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 - 1 = 23 for 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11 damage.

    Male Human Wizard (Enchanter: Controller) 17 Init +6; AC=19; T=16; FF=17; HP 23 / 92

    ROUND 7

If the creature still lives after that mighty blow, Morkeleb (hopefully) fixes that situation.

    Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

won't dock the charge until the use of it is confirmed

Morkeleb's missile does EXACTLY what it needs to. The creature shatters into a thousand pieces. Each character receives 433 XP

    King of Korvosa

Make a guy Mike!! Sumac, Chudd and Fel are waiting for you!

    King of Korvosa

Odric shakes his head in disgust at his ineffectiveness and stalks into the room with the dead albino in an uncharacteristic huff.

He commences a cursory search of the area, looking into each of the baskets along the eastern wall in turn. Perception:1d20 ⇒ 5

    King of Korvosa

If there are signs of those mosquito things in the baskets, Odric will stab through the wicker to kill them with his dagger.

    Male Dwarf Fighter 15 Urban Ranger 2 AC=32 (CMD base 37+ specials); T=16; FF=29; HP 183/183; Init+8; Per +22; +18F+14R+9W

I would also like to get out of this hallway and search the other room. Along with normal clues and treasure, I am especially looking for either a dead tatooed shoanti man, or at least pieces of him.

    Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

    King of Korvosa

Odric takes up position at the eastern hallway, prepared to smash anything threatening that might emerge from the darkness.

    Male Human Ranger 17, AC 30, HPs 202/202, Int +5, Fort +17, Ref +15, Will +9 (Bucho AC 31 HPs 175/175, Fort +18, Ref +13, Will +8 +4morale)

At Odric's might hit and the wizard's magic, Grym throws his hands up in triumph. Then brings them in down in supreme annoyance. The ranger is surely dissapointed in his own actions. He was able to fight off the poison the first time he was bit, but succumbed to it eventually. He is truly glad he has such capable comrades to ensure he wasn't killed while he was down and out for a few moments. He pets Bucho for a moment and thinks, "when in the hells will I finally have you propery trained you furry beast"

Morkeleb, do you still carry the wand of healing? I'm in some need of it... Grym looking down at the two viscious bit wounds on his body.

There was likely much to be valued in this room, but whatever action it saw before your arrival has destroyed it. The creature itself carried some things of note, alight repeating crossbow and some bolts that look poisoned.

Sandor, your keen senses (and affinity for all things stone) detect a secret door to the north. In a matter of moments you locate the release.

This leaves you a secret door to the North, a passage to the East and a door to the South.

    The "exploration" map is here.

    King of Korvosa

His previous frustration disappears in a heartbeat when Sandor swings wide the secret door with a deep scraping noise. Odric runs over to the new passage, his face alight with excitement.

    King of Korvosa

Odric tucks The Eagle into his belt and draws his falchion.

    Male Human Wizard (Enchanter: Controller) 17 Init +6; AC=19; T=16; FF=17; HP 23 / 92

I am not skilled enough in the use of divine magic items to use it consistently. Gaius has it. Perhaps he'll bring it out--now does seem a good time.

Morkeleb casts Detect Magic to scan the room, as well as looking into the secret room.

What is the nature of the poison on the bolts--will Alchemy figure it out? If so . . .
    Craft (Alchemy): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 (no +2 for having my alchemy lab here)

Also, what is the nature of the "previous" value in this room?

It takes Craft (Poison) to identify.
