Victor Montoya
Victor seeing that Eponine and Kern have the last of the dogs well in hand, moves in an attempt to get a shot at the cat that has Sophy.
Moving to AT 38.
Longbow w/PB: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 11 - 4 = 19
Damage w/PB: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
I'm sure the cat has some type of cover. I didn't adjust for that, so, go ahead and subtract what you need to. I only took off for being in cramped quarters.
Mythril DM
Eponine advances and plunges her blade into the eye socket of the final goblin dog ending it's pitiful life.
Suddenly the thicket seems to come alive as thorny vines move and writhe reaching out to grasp and wrap themselves around everyone except Sophy. Victor, Kern, Wren are entangled by the thicket making movement and action difficult while thorns cut into their flesh.
End of Round 2
Map Area highlighted in green indicates where the thicket is moving and grasping at everything in it.
AR33 is 20ft. way, max move in the thicket tunnels is 15ft. due to the double cost penalty, but you can move to AR35, since the dog there is only a corpse. :) I put you there on the map.

Wren Save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Eponine Save 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Victor,Kern, and Wren have the entangled condition and each take 1 point of damage.
Victor is up next, This happens before the next round starts so you will need to redo your last post.
Wren Chavali
Guys, I'm out of the office most of tomorrow. If Belril doesn't knock out the firepelt, Wren will use bonded item to fire off another magic missle. Sophy will owe her, lol. Also will attempt to move out of the entangled area.
Sophy Cassell
AC 9 (squeezing and grappled); HP 24/30
Sophy is sobbing in terror as she is dragged toward the cat's den. Desperate to get away before she is pulled in there, she keeps struggling to get away. Escape Artist 1d20 ⇒ 18 Hey! That might work! Of course, she has nowhere to move to now and has made the firepelt harder for Belril to hit....

Easily avoiding the predictable branches while sneering in mild contempt at his entangled allies incompetence, Belril walks through the branches to AT-39 and sends a sling bullet at the creature savaging Sophy, felling it with a well placed shot to its middle. The halfling takes a quick and cocky bow, slapping away one of the branches threatening to entangle him with his free hand.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Assuming this is an Entangle spell we're dealing with, i'll post my next reflex save.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 Refex
Mythril DM
Victor tugs and pulls to move a short distance, the constricting thorns and vines ripping at his flesh and clothes. Sophy wrenches her arm free of the cats salivating jaws, but stands helpless as to what to do next. Belril nimbly avoids the tangle of grasping plant life and moves to aid Sophy. He takes a shot at the fire pelt stinking it hard, near the heart, it growls in agony and falls dead at Soophy's feet. Kern, like Victor fights his way ten feet, as the plants surrounding him try to hold him down.
Wren and Eponine are up since the firepelt and goblin dogs are now all dead.
Eponine
Assuming that is a success, she will double move to AU 39. AT37 if it is a failure.
Edit: Sorry, I misread the spell description. Another save is required if you move INTO the area, not IN the area. So Eponine will move to AU39.
AC 13, hit points 20/24.
Mythril DM
Eponine scurries past Victor and Kern, who are struggling with the writhing vines, to stand next to Belril both free of the grasping plant life for the moment.
In front of Sophy, a curiously dressed goblin with a globe of flame in its hand slides out of the thicket wall. Upon seeing the dead firepelt it curses at her and throws the fiery ball at her. The hot flames stings her face and fills her nostrils with the thick smell of sulfur. At edge of the thicket wall another ball of flame fills her attackers hand, his other hand holds what appears to be a blade of flame.
Range Touch Attack vs Sophy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Both Belril and Eponine save to avoid getting entagled, Kern and Victor are still entangled, Wren is free of the area of effect.
Round 3 begins, everyone acts before the Goblin.

You still have to save at the end of the round to avoid getting entangled because you end the round in the area of effect. That was good enough to beat the DC.

Make sure you don't get in the way of my shot! Belril shouts to Sophy and Wren as he starts to aim his sling at the Goblin. A moment later, he focuses his seething fury in a white hot focus and begins the process of pummeling the goblin with sling stones.
Swift action to apply rangers focus on the goblin, will wait to see if Gobbo is in melee or if anything has significantly changed by Belril's action before I make the attack rolls.

Dipping deeply into her magical reserves, Wren fires one last energy missle from the tip of her wand. "Out of the way, Sophy!"

That touch attack is a critical threat, DM. (Any spell that requires an attack roll can be critted.) Her touch AC is an 8 while squeezing, so unless you roll a 1, that'll be double damage.
Sophy is about to turn and stammer her thanks to Belril for saving her from the cat when she takes a face full of flame. Bewildered at how her 'safe' position at the rear of the group became the front lines, she screams at the goblin, "Leave me alone!" as she tries to get out of the way of its fire. cast sanctuary Will DC 15; move to AW 44, if possible (I can't tell from the map if that's supposed to be part of the briar wall there or not)

Move to AU 38. That's pretty much all I can do.
AC 8; Hp's 29(Forgot my 1 point of damage last time)
You only take 1pt of damage if you fail a save vs the spell. You are already entangled, so unless you attempt to break free (move action to use STR or Escape Artist.) and then end up still in the spells area of effect and fail another REF save to avoid getting re-entangled you don't take any additional damage. Out of logic I think I will add if you fail to break free on a STR or Escape Artist check you take a point also.
Victor or Kern do you want to redo your action to attempt to break free with a move action, or just take the restricted double moves? I linked the entangled condition description above, thinking that it mentioned how to break free. Apparently that is only in the spells description for entangle
Mythril DM
move to AW 44, if possible (I can't tell from the map if that's supposed to be part of the briar wall there or not)
The AW44 square is part open, part wall so you can occupy it. It's like pressing your self against the wall. You would be against the thorns which might cause you additional damage IF you get pushed into the wall.
Although the ceilings and walls of these tunnels consist of tangled, thorny vines, a character that brushes against them need not worry about damage. A character pushed into a wall must make a DC 15 Reflex save to avoid taking a point of damage (characters in heavy armor automatically make this save).
Victor Montoya
I actually did fail the initial save. I just never recorded it afterward. But getting another shot at breaking out is good to know. I was tempted to go and hunt down entangle to see if that was possible, but I just didn't feel like it. :p Anyways, thanks for the heads up on that. I'll give it a shot.
Str. check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Victor struggles to break free, but just cant tear the roots of the pesky vines hard enough. Sophy feels a veil of security wash over her as she moves across the clearing towards the opposite wall from the spell wielding goblin. Belirl takes to shots and scores to hits, forcing the goblin to holler in pain. Kern forces his way through the ensnaring foliage. Wren then blasts the goblin with her own face burning blast.
Victor: It's only a move action to try to break free, so assuming even if you fail you want to get out of the area of effect I moved you 5' to AU38 in the direction you were headed to get closer to freedom.
Eponine is up then the goblin to end the round.

Reflex save for round 3. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
With her foe in sight, Eponine rushes forward, forgetting in a crucial moment about the grasping vines. Enraged at the visible foe, she pushes forward anyway. With thorns tearing at her clothes and flesh, she finally makes her way to the enemy, blade at the ready as she closes the gap.

Even though Eponine is not effected by the entangle she still is effected by the tight quarters in the goblin sized tunnels.
Bipedal Medium creatures can navigate them by stooping over and hunkering down, effectively squeezing to move, and thus taking a –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC; such characters must spend 2 squares of movement for each square traveled. Small and smaller creatures can move about normally, as can most quadrupedal Medium creatures. Although the ceilings and walls of these tunnels consist of tangled, thorny vines, a character that brushes against them need not worry about damage. A character pushed into a wall must make a DC 15 Reflex save to avoid taking a point of damage (characters in heavy armor automatically make this save).
A42 is a 20' move and you can only make it 15'. Do you want to move closer or take a different action?

Lol, Precise Shot will be taken at the earliest opportunity, if i'd known i'd be fighting so many fellow midgets and medium creature's i'd have saved these feats for later :). Also in addition to the squeezing penalties for the big un's, the area of Entangle is treated as difficult terrain even if you make the save anyway.
Mythril DM
Eponine moves out of the grasping thicket and across the briar cavern to place herself between the goblin and Sophy. In pain, and aware that the elf is carrying a big sword the goblin steps back melding into the thicket wall and out of sight of the adventures.

Hes got cover relative to us but we can still use sight to see him surely? Or is it that dense?
The briars are dense enough to block sight here, and the goblin is able to move through the walls...part of what makes this encounter challenging. Here is a snippet from the post describing the briars when you first arrived:
Eventually you arrive to a spot where the briars and thistles grow even more dense and tangled. Although not quite dense enough to block the sound of waves crashing on the unseen shores to the west, the undergrowth is certainly thick enough to block sight and access to the coast.
Mythril DM
He seemed to entangle us without having any line of sight on us in that case, which strikes me as a little bit of double standards.
He was in a position to see you, while being hidden and I did make perception checks for some party members (who did have opportunity) to see him but unfortunately they failed. From time to time I make DM Screen spoilers, those are often times I am making rolls about the NPC's or PC rolls that can affect things that are passive and I want to keep a surprise (had they passed I would have provided the PC that the rolls were for info that they could have shared with the group or acted upon in a special spoiler). I try to always be fair, and if needed am more than willing to back up and redo posts to make sure it is. Here the rolls to see him were against the party and he got the drop on you, but you all have given him a world of hurt as well.

I have good news for Victor, You break free as a move action, then you can take your move or standard action, then at the end of the round you have to make the save or get entangled again. So can move up to 15 ft after breaking free, the 19 was good enough. Where do you want to go?
