Not sure where we are in intiative, but Wellard was waiting on Romon and Naris so I assume it's the ogre's turn.

Frankly I have no idea why they threw in that encounter it's a speed bump for any competent 9th level party.

Marak's question takes Inikai aback until the later realizes that it was not directed at him. The challenge of staunching the flow of water is beyond his knowledge or understanding. Quietly, he stands fast and hopes that one of the others can call forth some means of stemming the breach.

Wellard, is there any way to brace ourselves to cross the damn, or am I understanding the water flow all wrong and there's nothing to worry about?

At talk of seeing what's on teh other side of them damn, nods, pointing to her chest "Ali fly and go see what on other side of damn, yes yes. You no worry, she be right back." and without further hesitation, she flows to hawk form and wings to the other side of the damn, making sure to keep high enough to avoid casual notice or attack.

On the way, she swoops down to check on Lunas and the mounts.


There is nothing on the other side of the dam as far as Ali can see..the center of the structure is dominated by a sort of blockhouse that might contain the controls to the sluices..opening the sluice gate will relieve the pressure on the dam itself and stop the uncontrolled flood.

Then he turns to Ali and asks "Ali, how fast can you fly to the town and tell them that we will open the gate?"

"We should let them know that they have to prepare right away. Then, once Ali returns, we can open the dam. That should give them enough time, I hope."

opening the sluices will allow the water flow to be regulated so that it flows out of the lake at the village at the same rate as it flows in..but it will take the pressure off the damaged area..I will remind you that the village is 10 miles away

As Roman investigates the door for some giantish perfidy, Marak replies to Naria, "An odd design to be sure, out of sorts with the tastes of this lands ancient rulers, and more fitting to a different also-dead nation a hundred leagues to the west and currently overrun with orcs. I wonder if this dam predates even Varisia's ancient history and was made by some people even they knew not?"

Marak has +7 in knowledge - architecture and knowledge - history, this stuff is catnip to him!

Sorry Wellard, I combined the two double doors into one with a north and south door. Since we're on the south side? Romon will pick that one. He won't have to walk as far.

The door opens into a 20' wide corridor which runs a short distance ahead before turning north..There is a single door on the southern wall in the SE corner
