Spitting a gout of blood out of every orifice, "Me?...", the Mariner says weakly then slowly rises, "...I'm one of the Really Old Ones."
Shifting the weight of the magical shield in his left arm, the 'W' is turned upside down into an 'M'. Rearing back with his longsword with all his might against the Tatterman, "BUT YOU CAN CALL ME - THE MARINER!"

Pinkie jumps the ragged creature from behind, stabbing it in the back. The sword sinks deep, but the Tatterman ignores it as if the attack was only a nuisance.
An arrow flies in from Cats, lodging in its arm, but has just as little effect.
Digging deep into his reserves, the Mariner grabs his weapon and attacks with furious vengeance!
The blade passes through the Tatterman, dispersing him into yellow vapor. His rasping laugh fades.

The Mariner wakes at Brother Butterfly's urging, coming to just in time to see the big priest dash off into the mists. Looking up he sees the scarred woman standing close, smiling down at him with vacant eyes. Arrows zip past, but she ignores them.
"I will send you to him!!" The words cry out, but her mouth does not move. The sounds come from a misty dark void where her tongue should be.
The Mariner feels a sharp pain in his chest where the Tatterman's blade sunk in.

After moving around the edge of the mists, he was hoping to see Cat's or another ally reasonably close. With boxes and a sizable distance between him and Cats, his only option is to plunge into the mists and fog to better aid his friends.
With a deep breath. He moves forward - pulling out his mace and preparing a blessing to bestow upon the soldiers.

Fearless opens his eyes widen, well even wider as Brother Butterfly is inches away from him.
"Gaahhh!" He leaps to his feet, covering his head as if something were falling on him. As he does a small lid from one of the crates snaps off and hurtles towards the Oneigon as if by reflex. Fearless isn't even aware that it is happening.

A plank of wood flies into the mist, glancing off the oneirogen’s head. She lurches, and turns at Brother Butterfly's words, distracted as Pinkie stabs both weapons into it. Staggered from to injuries, the creature nearly falls onto the The Mariner's sword as he rises up and impales it.
Combat Over.
As the oneirogen’s body dies, the mists spewing from it begin to slow, and in a few minutes the mist outside the windows looks lighter. While the surrounding region is still awash in the deadly fog, much of the immediate area is much clearer.
Searching the body and the tower yields nothing of value worth taking.

GM - we know we are on an island, is there a pier or water visible now that the mists have lessened?
"Desna has just started to show me the scope of how Her will power can shape this world.
Evon's question brought a laugh to the group. It is needed. For that, Evon gets a reprieve. A short reprieve. "
"What next Watchmen? I think with the lessened mists we can break the glass of the base tower and hug the ground walls to make our way to the front doors and then the sanctuary."

He slides around back behind Fearless. He leans down to whisper in the halfling's ear as he keeps his eyes on Pinkie.
"You catting that?" Cats licks his lips. "Something weird is going on."

The Mariner's fight with the Tatterman only happened in his nightmare. No one else was actually there.
Despite grabbing at his chest in pain the Mariner is actually less injured than when you first arrived in the tower. HP 33/40
The mists outside have receded a bit, but only maybe 30' from the area you are in. You still cannot see water or any sign of a pier. You were told that there are other oneirogen up in the Ward of the Wicked somewhere.

Checking under his armor for the chest wounds Mariner cites he has, Brother Butterfly doesn't see too much trauma.
"Looks like Deana healed you up real special during your combat in the mists. You need a small bit of TLC, but are good otherwise ."
Looking further at Mariners arms.
"I bet you don't know, but have you ever figured out what all these names on your arms mean? Signify?"

"Yea?" the Mariner looks up at Brother, "I'm alright?" feeling a little more shaken from the Tatterman than he actually thought.
He runs his fingers across the two names, "Well I didn't put it there, I don't think. I woke up in the Ward with this one", pointing to KLYN. "Then after our nightmares began to get worse, this other one showed up", pointing to XXXXXX.

Cats will be sure there is nothing that might be useful to the Chapel, then be ready to get Salvation and move on.
"Instead of going after the next Onei-thingy, maybe we go back to the Chapel and check in. We probably should bring some food back though."

The mists have retreated- we have 20-30 feet of visibility.
Let's at least try. We can always back up to the safety of the ground floor of the tower.
BB does turn to The Mariner - almost like a break in the argument on what to do.
Besmara is a goddess around the Shackles. Known as The Pirate Queen. She is pretty amazing and even Desna likes traveling with her on her seaworthy adventures. It's possible the name is for a crew person that was named Besmara after the goddess, but my feeling is that it's on your arm as a cue to your past.
