Escorting the Matriarch back takes about a day.

Calah manages to keep the ship away from a small squall on the way to a small reef inhabited by the locathah tribe.

When nearing the reef The Matriarch asks you to anchor out just a bit off the reef to avoid grounding.

She jumps in the water and asks you to join her.

Those who jump in:
The matriarch calls out to her tribe, it sounds like a deep thrum. Within about a minute twelve or so locathah arrive. Seeing her they eye you wearily. She swims over and says to them in Aquan, These are my friends, they have saved me from a treacherous place, and have saved my eggs as well. We must honor them in the old way.

Returning back to you she says, It would be our honor to give you the old blessing, those wishing to receive it follow me, those not, please accept these potions of water breathing and follow Kinesh here to our villiage.

Calah swims forward and helps her friends who are a bit sluggish under water to come along at a quicker pace. It is obvious she feels quite at home under water, taking spins around the others and swimming through like a bird does through the air.

The Locathah Matriarch leads you into clear warm waters and down into an underwater cave. The cave is slightly lit by glowing pebbles along the floor.
Seven other locathah accompany you into the cave.
"We are going to ask the sea to treat you as one of her own. This is not something we do lightly."
The seven other locathah begin to circle arround you, chanting something under their breath's in what sounds like Aquan.
After what seems to be around ten minutes. The matriarch swims over to each of you and pushes a current of water against you, like an hydraulic push. Current dismisses any spells you have active. And you hear here say Breathe, you have been blessed by the deep.

The ritual grants different things based on how close you were to the water before.
Those who did not have water breathing find that they can now breathe water. Those that could breathe water but did not have a swim speed find that they have a swim speed of 30. Those that had both a swim speed and could breathe underwater find that the water seems to aid their movements. Their swim speed increases by 10, they treat their attacks as if they were subject to freedom of movement while under water and they gain a +2 to hit targets that are in the same body of water they are in.

It has been a crazy week. I promise the certs by tomorrow night.

The effects are permanent. I wanted her to give you something meaningful but not overly broken.
It is effectively a permanencied 3rd level spell for most of you. Worth roughly 7500 gp a piece.
The big advantage it has over that is that I'm considering it a supernatural ability. It cannot be dispelled, but can be suppressed in an anti-magic field.

Upon your arrival back at the village you find a feast arrayed before you. All served on ceramic plates (Ceramic plates are prized by locathah, they typically trade jewels and coral for them). The water here is calm enough that the food does not get washed off the plates. The feast consists of seaweed salad and sushi.

I think it was the general consensus that we are heading back to Port Peril. I am not going to roll weather this time. You guys have earned at least a little smooth sailing.

Arriving at Port Peril’s harbor, the you find mooring and arrange for provisioning, you also find some shipwrights eager to make a little coin repairing the ship. Sandra offers to oversee their work.

Their crew is eager to receive their pay and take shore leave. Before you are so much as able to disembark a half orc, tall even for his kind steps up to the brow. He arrives with an entourage of rough looking men behind him.
So you fancy yourselves legitimate pirates, you are going to be needing a letter of marque for that. And for a letter of marque you are going to need to see the Hurricane King, so he can decide if you are worthy.

Looking at the crowd that grows around him, What do ye think, be they real pirates? If yea then they should be able to pass a couple tests. If nay then lets watch em fail.

This is Tsadok Goldtooth, Kerdak Bonefist’s (the Hurricane King's) first mate. These tests are common before new pirates are recognized. Bribe's can help make them easier but they are generally dangerous and spectacles for the surrounding crowds. More than one test may be required.

Suny slows from where she is about doing ship's chores and watches as the large Half-Orc strolls onto the ship. As the crew also begin to muster around, she simply climbs a 'rat-line' to get a better view. Watching inquisitively as Noro introduces herself to some one she seems to know a bit about. As the ship was landed, Calah left for her quarters at first but just came outside to overhear the ruckus on the peer. perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 Deciding she could do with a grand entrance she whistles a couple of tunes to Havok. handle animal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

The giant bird Large now ^^ comes swooped down from the mast and hovers above her for a moment. Calah holds on to his talons and Havok flies to the peer. His strong wings producing quite the torrent of air to blow over the large half-orc and his crowd of followers.

Calah let's go of the talons and lands softly on her feet. Havok flaps his strong wings once more and hovers aside to land on one of the poles of the peer, his keen eyes looking over the crowd. He releases a loud squawk and opens wide his wings once more to show their size before resting both wings to his sides.
"What's this I be hearin'? A crowd gathering wanting to see proof of our skills as pirates? We just be back from a mighty haul! AIN'T THAT SO LADS!" Calah yells over her shoulder.

As the crew yells their reply, Calah shows a wicked smile and continues. "There isn't a challenge we will not walk away from. We will go to the Hurricane King and get our letter of marque, doubt ye not!"
