game thread up for those that want to dot in. please delete your posts after you post

So going to differ things from the rp we did in the recruitment thread.

The days light is beginning over the town of Sandpoint. It had been a very long day and you are all exhausted after a long days work so you've decided to retreat to the Rust Dragon for some adult beverages to take your mind off work. You enter the tavern and find a seat in the crowed room and just as you get settled a hush falls over the room. You see the barmaid step out onto the stage and she begins to sing the most enthralling song

Song has been linked to for those of who want to listen to it. Yes I know I'm not original but come on its a good song.

Vash listens with great interest. He has only been in Sandpoint for a week. He is a Samsaran for those who know what such things are. He has been doing odd jobs to pay for his room and board at the Rust Dragon. He is a friendly sort but always changes the subject when asked about his past. He is a caster of Divine magic, a Shaman some would call him. His Spirit Animal is a Pertifern named WuLi.

Jayna is sitting in her usual dark corner at the inn. She's tired from doing odd jobs around town. A girl has to pay for her room and board.

She really wishes that adventuring had been more lucrative before the whole being left for goblin food thing came up.

She's speaks quietly and moves her fingers a bit. The glass holding mead on the table in of her frosts over. Only then does she take a drink, and enjoy the music.

Lou had been working to keep up with the dinner orders. he had a lull in his work earlier as many of the traveler's and visiting merchants were out and about the town. but now was the beginning of the busy time.

Some orders he remembers as they are special orders from locals and guests that he has seen here frequently.

is the barmaid that sings Amieko? assuming that it is

As the hush falls over the common room, Lou knows what that means, besides a break in the orders, She was going to sing.

It didn't matter if she was in perfect tone or off key, it was all beautiful to him.

Lou comes out of the kitchen standing by the door, as she sings. He looks almost enthralled at her grace and beauty. He closes his eyes lost in the melody. or perhaps the sound of her voice was all he really wanted to hear.

maybe today she would notice, maybe today....

When she is done Ameiko leaves the stage and heads back to work. Servers come and take orders and the dining room comes back to life with chatter.

Lou_Kasuri:

As the song end Ameiko leaves the stage and heads back to the kitchen. "Full house out there Lou, try to keep up as best you can. Everything okay you seem distracted today?"

Male Half-Orc Hunter (1)

Malkahn sat wearily in the back of the common room away from the other patrons. At first glance, he seems a natural part of the crowd and would likely go un-noticed by even the most observant travelers as he takes care to keep his bestial appearance concealed. He seems distracted as if he is looking at things very far away. It is as if he is watching some complex totality that absorbs most of his attention. Most would focus on his beastial orcish features and dismiss him as a dumb brute. Few would realize how far his perception extended, how much he saw at a glance, how much he heard and knew. The assortment of smells are like a cacophony of sound and unidentifiable to most. The smell of stale beer, smoke, and wood are the landscape on which the other scents drifted. Malkahn unconsciously sorted through familiar and new smells. He recognized the scent of a woman in a dark corner, she smelled like fresh snow covering flowers. The flowery scent was not always strong and sometimes varied which Malkahn guessed was soap. It was pleasant. A new scent caught the half-orc's attention and he mentally traced it to a thin blue skinned man that had just recently arrived in town. It was a confusing scent because it smelled fresh like a young pup but at the same time dusty like an old book. Then there was the cook, Lou, who smelled of herbs and spice mixed with sweat. Malkahn detected a faint scent on Lou that he knew all too well and guessed that the mangy ill tempered she-wolf had been begging for meat from Lou.

I don't know why Lou feeds her. It is probably his fault that the moody she-wolf stays around. Maybe if he chased her off instead of giving her meats she would move on and stop following me around...

Once the song ends, Jayna gets the attention of a server and orders a meal. Something hearty. She carefully glances around for a certain small group of adventurers. Maybe they won't be in tonight, and I can eat in peace.

Lou glances to Amieko. he stares for just a second then. Everything's fine, I get right on the orders. He turns a goes to the kitchen.

Things have been quiet here since my sister left, off doing great things I am sure. he comments to himself. possibly thinking it an excuse for his daydreaming.

Dinner continues peacefully and with out much event until the Rusty Dragon gets a rather rare visit from the Sheriff. He looks to be rather troubled. He heads right for the stage and stops his foot a few times on it before calling out in a deep voice. "QUIET." he then clears his voice and continues "I have an announcement. Several caravans have been attacked on their way to and from Sandpoint and we can no longer ignore the threat to our trade routes. Reports confirm that the attacks are being carried out by goblins, mostly of the Licktoad tribe and all to the south of Sandpoint. It is with a heavy heart that I make the following decree. Starting tomorrow I am reinstating the bounty on goblins. Those brave enough to partake will receive 10 gold pieces for every relatively fresh goblin ear they bring to me. If you can bring in the head of the Licktoad chiefton I will give you 300 gold pieces. Be careful though, they seem to have new weaponry and our guards have struggled keeping their number down on the roads. Those who pursue the bounty do so on their own accord and Sandpoint will not be held responsible for any loss of life or injury." With that he jumps off the stage but stays in the tavern if anyone has any questions.

Vash approaches the sheriff.

"What is this new weapon? I would also like to know who else you might consider exceptional in a fight?"

Male Half-Orc Hunter (1)

Mal listens to the Sheriff's announcement with interest. He watches the other patron's trying to determine if any are going to seek to collect on the bounty.

Not a bad way to make a little extra coin. Don't like killing to kill but damn goblins shoulda kept to themselves. Guessin it is gonna be time to get back to the hunt. A'least that mangy Witch hates the taste of goblin an is sure to be hatin this hunt!

Mal approaches Lou and quietly asks, "You seen that damn She-wolf around beggin for scraps? What do ya thinkin about this goblin bounty?"

Female Human Sorcerer 3 AC 12 (16 with Mage Armor), T 12, FF 10 | hp 21/21 | Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3 | Int +6 | Percept +3

Jayna grabs her drink, and heads toward the sheriff. She hears Vash ask his question, and listens for the answer. Maybe he'd be interested in teaming up. I could sure use the money, and I hate goblins. She waits her turn, and asks the sheriff. How close to town has the nearest attack been? Do we have any idea how many attack at once?

After the questions die down she speaks quietly to Vash. "I'm interested in earning some bounties. In addition to the coin, I wouldn't mind getting back at them for attacking me.

The sheriff looks at Vash and shakes his head "My men aren't sure but it makes for some extremely nasty burns. Other than the new weapons they are using the same tactics. They come out in bands of about 3-6 and wreak havoc to the caravan and then loot what they can before running off. Sometime wagons have been burned by their weapons though I don't think that was their intent...then again with those little bastards its hard to tell. The closest they've been to town is about 5 miles."

Female Human Sorcerer 3 AC 12 (16 with Mage Armor), T 12, FF 10 | hp 21/21 | Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3 | Int +6 | Percept +3

Jayna takes note of the information the sheriff shared with the tavern. She sees Malkahn speaking to Lou. Malkahn could be a good guy to have around when goblins get going. That wolf of his could take down a couple on her own. I wonder if he's interesting in the bounty. Assuming "Vash" doesn't stop her to talk, she'll head in Lou and Malkahn's direction.

Lou motions to the back door out there, I tossed it some chicken scraps a little bit ago.

He stops working a bit Hey, what was that about goblins? he asks Malkahn. I've been waiting for a shipment of flour and two kegs of ale. its long over due.

Female Human Sorcerer 3 AC 12 (16 with Mage Armor), T 12, FF 10 | hp 21/21 | Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3 | Int +6 | Percept +3

Seeing if I can get this moving forward.

Jayna walks up to Lou and Malkhan. "Missing ale? We can't have that. Ale is important to keeping everyone happy. Maybe we should work together to take care of the goblins.

Lou looks to the Sorceress, I rarely touch the stuff, but you are right. let me just check with Amieko and gather some stuff, we can head out in the morning. I'll pack some food for the trip.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"Your food is wonderful. I'll check and see if anyone else would like to join us. I must admit the last time I faced goblins I had to be rescued by Shalelu. I'd like to avoid that this time. I'm supposed to be an adventurer, and it was embarrassing."

Jayna looks to Malkahn and asks "Are you and your wolf up to some goblin hunting? The more people we have the better off we will be. Especially if they have a new weapon."

Lou laughs, the last time I faced goblins was in the town square, where I hid under a table and my sister had to rescue me.
