Whoops! I just realiazed that Tek and I are supposed to be playing this soon with our "Core Campaign" group so Hakotep will have to sit this one out, I'm afraid. Thanks for the invite though!

DM Khel |

Oh, that's too bad, EF! Does that mean Tek can't play it either, or is he running the scenario when you play it?

DM Khel |

Okay. Perhaps I should run something else, then?
What scenarios are you guys planning to run in your core group?

![]() |

Here's our plan. If you're keeping both Tek and I, you won't be able to do anything on the list but we should be available for just about anything else, not having played more than a couple Core games.

DM Khel |

Bunch of fun-ruiners.
Seriously.
So it seems the options are to run a different Core scenario, or find another player for this Core scenario, or run something non-Core if we're losing EF and Tek anyway (I only mention this last option because I've got a new unchained rogue I'd like to throw some GM credits on).
Possible scenarios that come to mind:
Mists of Mwangi
Before the Dawn 1 & 2
God's Market Gamble
Rise of the Goblin Guild
Slave Ships of Absalom
Hall of the Flesh Eaters
Segang Expedition
Overflow Archives
Can you all let me know if you can play those in Core and Classic?
Never mind, I made a google sheet to make it simple to check things off. I can list more scenarios, since there are very few I've DM'ed, but I thought I'd start with a simple list.

DM Khel |

Glad the gang is all here! Still need a location and Perception check from Sobestian to get started. I won't be able to put up a gameplay post until tonight, I'll bot him if he hasn't surfaced by then.

DM Khel |

A few things related to this chase:
In order to represent on the map whether you’ve completed a challenge on a given square, please put yourself on the edge of the square past the text, in the direction the arrows point (as an example, I moved Gaelwyn to the right side of the Manor Outer Wall to reflect that he had completed the challenge on that card). Hakotep is on the challenge-completed side of the House Upstairs square, because he moved and completed the challenge.
I moved Oldmar to the start of the House Upstairs square, because he could have taken a move action on his turn to get to the card, but he failed the challenge to get to the other side of the card.
Rokdor – yes, I think you can have used two move actions as you describe, to get to the Manor Outer Wall card. I put you on the incomplete side of the challenge on that square.

Y'all - I'll be camping this weekend, and thus limited in my ability to post. Returning Monday night.

![]() |

I'm heading out tomorrow on a camping trip, and will be back next Tuesday or Wednesday... or possibly Thursday, depending on how lonely the bears are. I won't be posting during that time.

![]() |

OK, so this is a weird bug in the wayfinder app. You can't post from whatever alias you have defined as your default on the message boards.
It's been driving me crazy.
Mischief managed.

If any of you use my Paizo Campaign Tools browser extension, you may be interested to know that I've just released a new version with an exciting new feature.

DM Khel |

Pretty cool set of tools, Oladon, nice work!
And for the whole gang - what's your genius plan for getting past the slime mold in the pit? There are still narrow rails along the edges of the pit, which will take a bit of Acrobatics to cross. (You could send someone across this way with a rope, and a rope stretched across the pit like a handrail might make the Acro checks easier for those who come after.) Or you can surprise me with some other approach.
What's it gonna be?
And also - does anyone know how to rename the way this thread shows up? I can change the name on the Campaign Info tab, but the Gameplay and Discussion threads themselves still have the 'Core Kalkamedes' names I gave them when I thought we were playing that scenario.

That's what I was going for by suggesting rope earlier.

I don't know of any way to do that without disconnecting the current threads and creating new ones which you can then connect to this campaign in their place.

Why thank you!
Jumping across would be doable for the dorf, assuming there aren't any extenuating circumstances that'd make the DC higher than a 10...

DM Khel |

Well, I don't know if it's an extenuating circumstance, but the pit is 15 feet across, so the DC should be 15. And taking 10 won't really be an option, since there's some immediate (and icky) danger lurking below.

![]() |

At the moment it seems like the default plan is to kill the slime mold. If we decide that won't work I can strip out of my mail and balance my way across with a rope.

Starting tomorrow, I'll be on vacation with my family for the next two weeks. I'll still be able to post, but with slightly less frequency, I expect.

DM Khel |

Have fun! I'm actually flying out of Indy Friday morning (am visiting family in Cincinnati) and dreaming of a quick drop by GenCon - but I think I will be trumped by family...

![]() |

I forgot it was this week. Someone should confiscate my mud dice.
Have a great time. If iron GM is being run and there's a guy there with an orange Tuxedo running it, his name is Lou and he's a good old friend. Say hi for me. :) (Lawrence)

Sorry my posting has slowed down so much, things have gotten kind of wild at work. Not sure when I expect it to get better, but I'll do my best to keep up here.

DM Khel |

Work is still crazy and will be for the foreseeable future - and then will get busier at the beginning of September. But I'd love to wrap this up before then, if we can.

![]() |

Quick note: I will be leaving this Saturday, Aug. 22 for a ten day trip to Italy. The hotel is supposed to have wifi, and I hope to have some time in the evenings to post. This being my first trip to Italy and overseas, I'm not sure I will be posting all that much, so please bot me as needed. I will return late Sept. 2, and expect to be back to normal posting on Sept. 3/4.

DM Khel |

Sounds like a great trip, Sobestian, have fun! I spent a summer in Italy as an exchange student in high school and studied there for a semester in college and loved it.
Unfortunately, you get back the same day I get deployed to Saipan to do a 3-week shift on a typhoon response my office has going (which is why I've been so busy of late). Maybe we'll finish by bot before thenor maybe the internet issues there will be less extreme by the time I arrive.
In the meantime, if the other players don't mind botting Adobe, that would be helpful to me.

DM Khel |

Hey - anyone interested in playing in Siege of Serpents as part of PbP Gameday 4? I've already recruited Oldmar and Rokdor's players (dorfs are notoriously easy to convince), and I expect that EF and Tek have already played it, but I thought I'd ask, as I'd prefer a hand-picked group.
Gaelwyn - interested? It wouldn't start until November 5. I'm thinking I'd like to try a mid-tier game of it (3-4 or 5-6), which would mean a pregen rather than Gaelwyn, but I'm flexible on that.

![]() |

Sounds like fun. Timing is great too. Right now I'm finding work uncharacteristically busy and challenging but I expect things will have settled by then.
What are the rules for running a pregen again?
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Khel |

Cool. As for pregens, you play a pregen of a given level, then apply the XP, gold and prestige to one of your characters when he reaches that level. So if you played a level 4 pregen, you would apply the chronicle when your character hits 4th level.
I don't think you could apply it to Gaelwyn, since he's a Core Campaign character, but you've got your cleric as well. And if I run a low-tier game, you could just apply it directly to him. Do you have a preference, pregen or cleric?

![]() |

Well, we could do it Core if we wanted to. For both Core and regular, I have more low-level characters than I do mid-level. I've got a gap at 5-6 at the moment but will likely have somebody by November.
