Magma is able to find 2 lanterns, 10 flasks of oil, up to 30 large or small sacks, and 1 satchel/backpack. There are no torches. Realize this is all Lucky Monkey inn property.

If resting after the burial, that starts at 0630 and finishes at 1430. If Magma is cleaning the kitchen and searching for gear, his rest will be complete until 1800.

Nowzai will pay for a lesser restoration and 2 CMWs cast by a 3 level cleric;

Edit: Nice, just saw the updated timeline. Looks like if we book it we'll be just fine! I'll pickup a Light Warhorse and a military saddle as well. Would it still just be the 10gp off?

Thank you Lord Vhalantru, that certainly makes us feel better about the lad's future. He was asking us if he could stay and run the Inn himself! Very kind of you...

A child was bitten by a were at the Lucky Monkey Inn. Hopefully we've been able to get him here in time to avoid any... complications. Once we're on the road I'll fill you in on everything that has transpired!

10gp is the tradein value for both horses (animals themselves). Any other purchases or are you pressing out? What type of horse is Nowzai buying and do you intend to hustle/forced march at all?

I don't know if they really can. He said he was cleaning and they all went to bed, don't think anyone (myself included) thought about having to spend 8 hours of rest to be back up to top shape.

I'll pickup 3 CMW potions as well if Jenya has any. I saw how helpful they were during the last fight!

I Will leave Shensen 17 gp for what i took from the Inn.

Team Impatience (Epik, Malcolm, Magma, Dalamus):
Most of the party finishes resting early ... Magma is still resting a bit late. Shensen shows Malcolm the first of her trail signs and talks through the rough direction in the path. Malcolm thinks it'll be fairly easy to follow. Just before 1800, Magma gets up and the party sets out along the path through the jungle. The going is rough, thick foliage and large standing pools of water that create swarms of insects. Several times, you spot dinosaurs and aggressive primates, but are able to press along with out much trouble. Will need a Survival DC10 check from whomever is following the trail

Team Rebirth (Nemoris and Nowzai):
You purchase your horses and set out around noon for the Lucky Monkey, ready to get back on the road and hoping that you haven't forgotten anything. Before I can go much further, I need to two things: Nowzai's horse type purchased and whether or not you intend to hustle or forced march the horses at all or if you're just going to proceed at their max endurance pace

Team awake for 30 hours:
Yeah, I honestly don't think I'd hustle, I wasn't planning on getting back until the next day anyway. Once we do get back and find out they've pressed on we'll probably hurry to catch up, but until then I'd think we were getting back early and they'd have waited.

Team Epik & Friends:
With the aid of Shensen's signs, you're able to find the "cave" fairly easily later in the evening as the sun begins to set. A large hill with a rocky outcropping is perched next to a small lake/large pond. Shensen's last trail marker points directly at some shrubbery, which after a cursory investigation is noted to disguise a tunnel into the ground. Six feet in diameter, it slopes down about 30-40 degrees straight into the darkness. The next 2 spoiler checks below are for your party only. They are separate rolls. One good roll doesn't give you both.

Team Epik only: Survival DC 14:
You find a series of tracks leading into the tunnel. Several are booted feet of humanoids, but there are many with clawed feet as well. The clawed footprints come from a smaller creature, childlike in weight

Team Epik only: Survival DC 27:
Near the lake, you notice signs of a large bulk passing through. It's been washed away by rain and the passage of time (easily a week), but a couple things bring attention to a quadrapedal bulk with webbed and clawed feet.

Team Nemoris plus 1:
You set out for the Lucky Monkey at a leisurely pace, the idea of meeting up and discussing the plan for the morning exciting the both of you. Nemoris fills in Nowzai on the details of the Lucky Monkey foray and the encounter with Tongueater to get him up to speed. He just finishes telling the story of the were-beast's demise and subsequent decision to head to Cauldron when you pullup to the tavern, the sun low on the horizon. Inside the inn, the bard and singer from the previous evening are cleaning up after what looks like the remains of an evening meal. The only other person in the room is a white-haired, ebony-skinned half-elf that neither of you recognize. She looks up.

"From their descriptions of you, I'm guessing that you two are Nowzai and Nemoris?" the half-elf looks slightly weathered and has the look of exhaustion about her: bags under her eyes, slightly withdrawn demeanor. She looks like she might even be ill as she sips from a steaming cup with a large blanket wrapped around her. "They departed less than an hour ago for a cave I found a few days ago. I blazed a trail, so it shouldn't be hard to find if you wish to catch them."

There are both boot and claw tracks going into this cave. We should be on guard. I recommend we find a safe hiding place where we can monitor the cave entrance for the night.

Depending on the time of day, will determine the level of frustration for Dalamus. If it is early, then he will be quite frustrated, if it is night fall and has been a long day of traveling, it will just be more of irritation.

Dalamus, don't forget you have 6 days before you need to head back, it's only been one, we have time to do this carefully. If you want to scout ahead into the entrance of the cave I think you are best equipped to remain unseen, we can set up close enough to support you if anything goes wrong.

I am hoping that Nemoris and Nowzai are not that far out and we can move in at first light at full strength

Sure, Survival DC10 will net you 1d6 useable torches for an hour's worth of work and 1 flask of oil as long as you have a supply of timber (in the jungle it's plentiful)

For redos on survival checks: For finding tracks, you can retry a failed check after 1 hour (outdoors) or 10 minutes (indoors) of searching. Let me know if you wish to check again, add in a DC increase of 3 as light goes away (moonlit night). That's an auto failure for you without help or an action point or both

Team Impatience Perception Check DC:10:
After the sun has almost completely disappeared and the party is settling in and discussing whether or not to camp out for the night, you hear some sharp yipping noises nearby interspersed by an aggressive barking tone. It's getting closer and coming from the mouth of the cave.

Team Nowzaurus:
You rest the horses for a moment, grab some drinks/food quickly, and set out looking for the signs Shensen mentioned.

Nemoris can take 10 and find them; you are aided greatly by much more obvious signs left by your partners ahead of you and you're able to make good time following the trail through the jungle they've already blazed.

Need a couple things: are you riding line abreast or single file? Need you to roll up some quick hit points/stats for your horses

The ground erupts beneath you, and a large insect-like creature rears up out of the ground, mandibles flashing and dripping with acid, multiple legs clawing at the air.

Need Round 1/surprise round actions as necessary; Need ride checks from Nowzai to keep his horse from acting on its own(DC20 every round, success means move action, failure means no action); Nemoris has a DC10 check to fight and get his mount to attack (success is a free action, failure means one or the other). Only one knowledge roll is required below

Team Nowzaurus Perception Check DC:21:
Stealth:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21; You hear and feel a rumbling in the ground beneath you. You may act in the surprise round

Team Nowzaurus Knowledge Arcana or Nature DC13:
This creature is an ankheg, a huge, burrowing insect with a dangerous bite and a tenacity matched only by its hunger. It eats, breathes, and sleeps.

Team Nowzaurus Knowledge Arcana or Nature DC18:
As well as its lethal bite with which it can latch on to its victims, an ankheg has a natural acidic venom which coats its mandibles and can be spit over short distances. Once an ankheg spits however, it takes a number of hours for it to build up its acid once more.

Team Nowzaurus Knowledge Arcana or Nature DC23:
These natural tunnelers can see in most conditions, and have a extra sense that allows them to detect the slightest of movements through the earth.

I'll fire an arrow at the beast, and move my horse back to a 30 foot range if possible w/o provoking an AoO. Also, think firing from horse back is a -4 with a double move? Not sure how much the minus is with a regular move, tired to look it up but didn't find anything easily.
