"This could still be a trap, we should be on guard. Many creatures in nature use something innocent to lure in unsuspecting prey."
Bregor Rowain |
"Sure thing Master Furiel, just try not to hit MikMek if you see him."
The Green Man puts a meaty paw on Furiel, taking a good hold of his jacket and then dangles him over the edge, ready to pull him back up again if needed.
Furiel |
Furiel wants to hit a mite with his flask, but he will aim for the largest open floor area well back in the tunnel.

"Thanks Green, that should help our light sitution and hurt some mites. I have two left now."
DM Bloodgargler |
As you hang upside-down you can only see 15 or 20 feet in before it is pitch black. You can see the near walls and get a vague idea of the shape of the area .. and hurl into the darkness. I had it go as far as you could throw and hit AC5 with that roll
map
The vial explodes against the far edge of a narrow chasm, and the flames catch two mites -- who screech .. The squeak/chanting gets louder and angrier..
---------
Furiel hangs upside-down .. you hear the glass crash and woosh of the fiery explosion .. a faint warm glow flickers low on the west wall..
Furiel |
"I think it is time to go down now."
Can we use the rope we tied to the roots to climb down this drop Furiel is hanging over?
If Furiel can throw another alchemists fire at one of the mites silhouetted in the fire, he will before being pulled up.
DM Bloodgargler |
yes . rope you have now hangs a few feet above the floor of this lower level, which is plenty to drop down safely .. (1d8 ⇒ 2<direction of miss)
Your second throw hits a wall where the tunnel narrows ... the flash illuminates the room .. a kobold is chained to the wall -- upside down, maybe alive -- near other kobold sized forms, covered in tiny squirming centipedes..
You hear another vial explode, louder this time and the light from it is a bit brighter..
Bregor Rowain |
The Green Man pulls Furiel up and places him back on his feet, he then proceeds to drop down, and this time he has the axe ready as he does so.
DM Bloodgargler |
You drop down and see the flames on the wall nearby .. and further east across a narrow chasm, several mites are kicking dirt on a dying flame..
The light from Norton's shield and Rogar's blade illuminate the area up to the chasm .. tiny centipedes scatter away from the piles, and away from the hanging kobold..
Bregor Rowain |
The Green Mans instincts as a healer takes over and he aproaches the kobold, trusting in the others to see to the mites.

The light from Norton's shield illuminates just to edge of the chasm ... just enough to see the head of a huge centipede - three times the size of the others -- come up from the chasm and arcs toward you. One of the mites hops on its back and fires it's sling at Rogar, the bullet pings ineffectively off of Rogar's boot.

A few chips of it's blue-black chitin are sent flying from the blow..
