"Incoming!" Rosco shouted as the stones came rolling his way. He spun around and plowed through the mud back to the group. When he got to Sir Adrian, Rosco turned around again to face the stones, fell to one knee, and drew his shortsword.

"Right.. Bring it." He said through gritted teeth while bracing for impact.

Sorry from me too, I see I've missed another 'post as Rosco'. I'm going to make posting as Rosco standard.
Using his move to move right in front of Sir Adrian (Opting for this since he's not too keen on being between a Goliath and his playtime) and holding off on any action until the stones come within reach.

"Elementals," Ragnar says before trudging forward through the muck.

Seeing as how she will not be able to get into the fight, Aura will again begin speaking to....something, but this time it is a much shorter conversation. As she does so, she draws 3 rocks from a pouch of them on her left hand side and...while you can't be sure, it appears that they move a bit on their own in her hand. With that done, she will throw one of them at the creature that is advancing towards Clyde.

Casting Magic stone as a bonus action and then throwing one of the rocks at the elemental. The spell gives a range increment of 60' and makes them deal 1d6 damage.

Being Surprised, I assume I'll need to wait till round 2 before sharing this information.

The Stones stop once they round the bend and unfurl, revealing two stone humanoids with malevolent eyes and large paws from which they can smack down.

Clyde moves in front of her to protect her, while Ember stands in stunned silence. Rosco jumps back to be in line with his comrades. Skyreaver launches a stone, dealing 6 magical bludgeoning damage to one.

Each of them snarls and rolls up to charge, ignoring the thickness of the mud that slows down each of you.

Since Rosco probably doesnt know he can do this, I'm calling it - he spends his action to ready for an attack, attacking the enemy as soon as it is in reach

His sword cuts deep into the shard in front of him.

Skyreaver launches another stone, and lands a solid hit to the creature in front of Rosco, killing it.

The remaining Shard of Ogrémach retaliate.

"Is anyone injured? I still have a few spirits left who would like to see the insides of people."

After having traveled for almost hour, you come to another annulus like entrance next to a prominent rock like you found in the oubliette. This one is set into the wall instead of the floor and is much easier to be opened. No earthquake occurs, the door simply spirals open and the stone retracts into the wall.

The stinging scent of acid burns your nostrils before you see the contents of this rocky oblong cavern. A vast pool fills the kidney-shaped cavern between you and the tunnel on the other side.

This oblong cavern is made of rock and filled with a lake of lightly churning acid. The smell is overpowering. Other than that the only obvious exit is one hundred feet on the other side of the lake of acid, there is no eminent threat.

General Features of the room:
The pool is vaguely kidney bean shaped, and fills the entire room. The acid is a translucent green and the bottom cannot be seen. There is a visible annulus with rock nodule visible on the other side, one hundred feet away.

Acid. The pool is full of acid.
Light. There is no light in the room.
Smell. The room smells overwhelmingly caustic. It is unpleasant to breathe but the fumes are not poisonous.
Walls. The walls of the room are rough with deep vertical fissures creating almost fin-like rocky protrusions throughout the room.

This room is a puzzle to be solved.

If you have proficiency or a relevant feature (race, class, or background) in any of the following, you may check out some hints:

Survival, Engineering, mining:
You may be able to set up a block and tackle system or design a pully system to get people across.

Athletics, Acrobatics, Sports:
You may be able to climb the walls to get across. You may even risk swimming, betting that the acis won't hurt you that bad.

Arcana, Alchemy, Cooking:
The mud from the long twisting hallway was alkaline, and alkinine material tends to neutralize acids.

Nature, Water craft:
The remains of the Shard's of Ogrémach were hollow, rounded I'm a hemisphere shape, and can fit two medium sized creatures.

As they reach the kidney shaped room, Clyde pipes up, "Ah ha! It's a stomach! See? That intestine comment before doesn't seem so stupid now, does it?" After the failed attempt to reassure himself, he takes a long look at the room, mouth and nose covered by his gauntlet. "Well, I dislike the idea, but we could make use of the climbing gear we were given and try to make it around... Or we could craft some sort of... pulley. Though I care for that idea even less. And we'd need roughly 200 feet of rope." Clyde scratches his head and turns back to the party. "Any other ideas? Should we test how acidic it is?"

I agree that the acid may not cause too much of an issue, but we should test it first. Otherwise, I would venture a climb along the walls to get across.

Ember smiles at Clydes analogy. " Though that next door should be a long straight esophagus then. "

" Both great ideas, the mud from the hall is Alkaline, if we put enough into the acid pool, it will neutralise and we'd be a lemon to wade through safely enough... perhaps a combination of all three? Use the shards as bouys with rope to pull ourselves across, neutralising the acid as best we can i case any one falls in? "

Ember scoops up some of the mud and tosses in the pool to demonstrate the effect. The mud reacting with the acid as it sinks in.

Ragnar:
The acid immediately starts burning your skin. However, as Ember throws in the mud around you, the acid seems to focus more on the mud than on you. Take 1 point of damage.

DC 10 Intelligence (Nature or Arcana):
Based on the experiment by Ember and Ragnar, it seems that if you were to cover yourself in mud, you might be able to swim across with some measure of protection. Although how long that would last is difficult to ascertain.

Note: when a skill check is requested, anyone can make the check. The first part, "Intelligence" says that you add your int modifier to the d20 roll. The second part "(Nature or Arcana)" says that if you have proficiency in one of those skills, you add your proficiency modifier. Please don't think that you can't make a check just because you don't have proficiency. Although, if you feel it's against your character's personality or concept, you're always free to skip a check.

The pool is 100 feet long; that's how far you have to travel to get to the other side where the door is. It's width is about 60 ft, kidney-shaped.

The climbers kit makes it so if you fail a climb check, you can't fall My further than the distance you set the pitons from each other (max 25').

Ragnar - you can easily drag them back to the pool.

Clyde sets his pack on the ground and starts searching through it. "I'll climb over first. Which of us was given the pitons? Was that me?"

After recovering all the climbing gear, he ties 2 50ft ropes together and hammers a piton into the wall, tying off one end of the rope with a noose knot. Clyde removes the grappling hook from the rope around his waist and places it back in his bag. He takes some time to remove his armor and asks if someone might hold that for him. He drapes the coiled remaining rope loosely over one shoulder and begins climbing, tying the 25' rope around his waist to the pitons he hammers in.

" Careful Clyde, " Ember says, watching nervously as he climbs around the wall. " Hmm if we cover ourselves with the mud, it could give a layer of protection against the acid, in case we fall in... "

Ember begins to cover herself in the mud, though she finds the process absolutely disgusting, an opinion clearly written on her face.
After she's done she attempts to follow Clyde. " I must learn a spell of flight... " she mutters as she begins.

-Wait, guys, before yo go...

Shoo blesses everyone just before he/she attempts the climbing, bringing forth the wellness of Lathander and his love for fair sports.

Will cast Guidance on anyone just before climbing. Will leave himself for the last, of course.

Sir Adrian nods at Shoo, then proceeds to cover himself in mud, grumbling all the while.

Damnable mud is taking the shine off my armor. I hope this works, Ember.

He hefts himself up to follow Clyde along the wall.
