Glenda Huckleberry |

Our thief has been busy! W-what's that... is that a shadow moving? Glenda says. The fish in her pouch is whipping around madly.
Glenda fumbles around before retrieving Fynn from her pouch. She hurls it at one of the shadowy figures. (Targeting the one above the 1)

I believe that you only have one light source, and the shadows are very sneaky! ;) But at least you weren't surprised!
Glenda's cold fish flaps in the shadow's face, but it does not seem particularly effective! The shadow recoils slightly, but continues coming!
Rakish slashes twice through the dark undead fiend, but his axes pass right through! The lizardman can feel a slight resistance as they pass through, and the ghastly form recoils, but comes at him again!

I have updated it so that each shadow has a different color border, so that you can differentiate between which you attack.

I will give Seraphyna a couple more hours to post, then will bot her with a pew-pew...

Seraphyna Bell |

Sigh... I love this sight...
Sera squeals as the shadows appear, not sure if they are the enemy, or just.. well.. shadows. When it becomes clear they are the enemy, she strikes her pose and fires off a pink blast of eldritch energy.

Glenda flings her fish again, which tailslaps the shadow, but it does not disappear! Rakish swings at it twice; the spectre winking out of existence for a split second, causing the first swing to miss, but the second axe tears through!
The shadowy figure gets fuzzy, but pulls itself back together!

Glenda Huckleberry |

Sera continues her assault, hoping to put a bit more boom in her attack!

Attacking the much wounded one? Hope that brings it down..
When posting out of initiative order, I find it best to let the GM decide where to place the shot, as someone who posts after me, but goes before me, may finish off the declared target. This is a game of cooperative storytelling, so if a DM ever tried to pull a "gotcha" because of that, there would be much to discuss in the discussion thread :D

Seraphyna, picking the easier target rather than shooting through her friends, aims her eldritch purple stuff at Drakr's shadow, blasting it to oblivion!
Krissina thrusts at the shadow by Rakish, her thin blade feeling like it is being pushed through soft sand! The shadow screeches, but yet remains! I will endeavor to remember Cutting Words! Keep reminding me!
The shadows continue to dog-pile on the lizardman!

As they grasp greedily for Rakish' flesh, Krissina calls out some vicious words that remind them of a time when they were alive. The hesitation costs one of them a hit, but the other rakes its claws across the lizardman's face! Rakish loses 2 more Strength points!
Everyone is up again! Red looks like it is having trouble holding itself together, while green looks fresh! (And Blue is vaporized!)
Krissina, one use of your Bardic Inspiration is used.

Drakr |

Yeah, I'm really not sure why I chose Torm for this character instead of Clangeddin... I even began writing Clangeddin in that post before remembering... I think it was something to do with his Faction or AL in general. I'll probably change it after this adventure cause it does feel wrong!
Drakr gives a quick nod of thanks to Seraphyna and then turns his attention to the remaining foes.
"Hold on Rakish!" Drakr says stepping up beside the Lizardman and taking a swing with his blue glowi hammer at the shadow that's barely a wisp of its former self and then reversing his swing and striking back at the shadow again!

A flying, flopping fish and blast of pink pom-pom energy fly at the shadow, tearing at it! The undead creature pulses as it tries to hold itself together...
Rakish, hoping to finish it off, swings! He feels contact on his first hit, but not on the second! The shade screams in fury at the lizardman.
Will wait a bit this weekend for Krissina.

With Drakr's concentration broken, the light fades from his hammer. Affected more than he thought, it throws his aim off as well!
Krissina's confidence falters with Drakr's concentration and causes her thrust to go wide!
Glenda's fish flies wide as well, but Seraphyna's aim is true and her pink light tears through the undead fiend tearing it from this existence!
Combat over!
You are all standing in the darkness, a hole in the wall before you leading into what the smell emanating from within tells you must be the sewers of Phlan.

Glenda Huckleberry |

Aye! He must be a skillful mage to be able to summon these shadows! Glenda says, wary of the battle ahead.
She takes a quick look around for clues or anything out of place.

Glenda finds little other than the remnants of a splash up the sewer wall that indicates that someone recently passed that way.
EDIT: Going to wait just a bit longer to make sure everyone is willing to forego the rest.
EDIT2: Rakish, you did not have to expend the Action Surge, as the shadow was killed before you had a chance.

Glenda Huckleberry |

Over there! Oh the smell! Like what happens when you let half-orcs run the kitchen! Glenda points out the splash up the sewer wall.

![]() |

Ha ha, isn't it interesting how you and your character want such different things! ;) Happens to me all the time!

Drakr |

Drakr nods, "Lets get after 'im!" he says, as he trudges into the sewers, heading in the direction that Glenda pointed out.
Happy to go on without a rest for now... though we may regret it later.

Seraphyna Bell |

Eewwww, we need to go into the sewers?!? Like where all the... she says before starting to almost vomit. Are we sure we have to? she asks, a bit paler now. Before they can answer, a quiet, But I don't want to... squeaks out.

Krissina |

Krissina fishes out a vial of perfume from her pack and hands it Seraphyna, "Put this on a scarf and wrap it over your mouth. It won't make the area any more pleasant but should mitigate some of the smell."

The sewers of Phlan consist of a channel with a 5-foot wide walkway on either side. The water in the channel moves with a pretty brisk current, and you think it might be a challenging swim if someone were to fall in. There is no light in there, so you may want to provide your own, unless everyone can see in the dark (which, I think Rakish and Glenda can not.)
The roar of water fills the air as the tunnel you were in opens into a large 60-foot wide chamber. Water cascades down a steep spillway on the far side, into a pool in the middle of the room. A stairway runs alongside the spillway to the daylight above.
Two large undulating shapes move on the opposite side of the chamber near a section of the floor that is blackened and charred as if by an intense flame.
The two undulating shapes resemble large caterpillars almost and seem to be feeding on something.
Map updated.

Seraphyna Bell |

Sorry...
Sera takes the offered scarf and wraps it around her face. It clearly helps, but the diminutive halfelf is still quite jumpy, firing off eldritch blasts at furry rats, fat spiders, gnarled logs, and anything else that vaguely resembles a non-party member.
When the ground spots the undulating shapes, she is about to fire off yet another blast before someone grabs her arm to hold her fire. She is tempted to stick her tongue out at them, but then remembers where she is and decides better.
