A question regarding local laws:
How much authority does the Bank of Abadar actually have to enforce or enact law in Korvosa? I know that the faith of Abadar is a pretty central one, but our two Abadarians seem to behaving as if the Bank is a police force (which I would have thought is what the Korvosan guard is). Just want to be clear on the social implications of Pagrip's act of defiance. :)

According to Guide to Korvosa (which may or may not be canon for LoreKeeper's game), the Guard serves the City first, the monarch second, and the Church of Abadar third. "Supported and augmented by the church of Abadar, the Guard counts among its officers paladins and priests of the city god." So while the two are closely related and share some personnel, I don't think merely being a Banker means you have police authority, although it probably means that Bankers expect to be backed up by the Guard just as the Guard expects support from the Bank.

Okay, that's more or less how I figured things were (it's been awhile since I've read my Guide to Korvosa). I just wanted to know how much authority Caulder and Esmerelda actually had to arrest on a charge of giving things away for free (which I'm pretty sure isn't actually against the law). I needed to know if Pagrip would be the next one arrested. :)

No strictly speaking giving things away isn't against any law. Though I expect the Abadarians realize that giving things away for free is highly suspect especially on a large scale as the meat seems to be. For example, meat could be laced with drugs. First round is free but the ones after will cost ya. Or even more sinister (to Abadarians): They are using the gifts of free food to turn the people away from the rightful law. That's instigating rebellion.
Course, they could just be really nice fellas giving away free food :)

Hey, LoreKeeper, are you going to set our game up with the new campaign management tools? Not GMing any games, I can't see them, but they seem to be pretty popular.

"I've got a girl, I cannot you who - but she's well-to-do. I owe a lot to her, she helped me get a good job at the guard three years back when I was new in town, and she makes sure that things work properly. She's genuinely smart, and beautiful." He's got a bit of a far away look in his eyes, and it doesn't take any special observation skills to realize that he's swooning a little, still in-love after several years. "She originally suggested the setup at All the World's Meat. It just made sense, and her advice has always been for the best."
There once was a man that couldn't "you who"
He had a girl that was well-to-doHe owed her a lot
But then he got caught
And had to find someone else to woo

You don't know how often I've looked at that picture and not seen that. I still kind of don't. It's not terribly clear, is it? I suppose the explanation is that one of the lines from the corner of the rogue's square goes along the line of the wall?
Of course, the butcher guy could just have taken a 5-foot-step and done the same thing, only with flanking it would be a 22 and his creepy friend gets a +2 as well.

Company scabbard... did he just call Esmerelda the village bicycle?
He didn't necessarily mean to; he's just not known for his silver tongue. :)
Will 1d20 - 1 = (18) - 1 = 17
Malder looks at his nose momentarily but readjusts in time to dodge out of Esmerelda's sap.
I think I'm going to quit playing spellcasters in PbP; I have the worst luck with enemy Will saves. Doesn't matter how low their Will save actually is; they always manage to roll a natural 18 or higher. Douena's skeletons, Corinna's faceless stalker, a horse (!) that saved vs. my witch PC's hex, now this guy with his -1 Will. :P
I are confused. 14 seemed to hit last time... maybe it actually was a miss. That means we are really sucking badly. Otyugh can't stop us but a pair of sweaty butchers can.
Now that I think about it, that scratch might have been LoreKeeper's way of narrating a near-miss that doesn't do any real damage. It was a bit misleading, though. On the plus side, it means that 11 damage might actually be more than a scratch if we could ever hit him!

Does Esmerelda take damage from a trip? I thought she was just knocked prone. (I rarely see Trip used, so I'm not sure, but I don't see anything in the Combat Manuever section about damage on a successful trip.)
Yeah, trip attacks don't normally inflict damage, unless there's some other special ability in play that grants it (can't think of any ability like that off-hand, though).

The trip "damage" comes from me copy-paste-ing too much. Ignore it. :)

Indeed. The recent trip-AOO was the first actual hit the good guys have landed on the bad guys. Maybe a sign of things to come.
...but... seriously. This "10" thing of yours is getting old. Try something more epic. Like rolling a "12". ;)

250 gp to everyone from the loot. Might get a chance to spend some of it at the Citadel before we're sent out again the next morning, if anyone needs anything. LoreKeeper, do they have cure light potions here, or would we have to go back to the bank for them?
EDIT: Oh, and Caulder will retrieve his manacles once they have the deserters locked up safely.
