Welcome back gang -- hope you've been thriving since we last played. We talked about starting the next one up in this time frame.
So check-in, verify where you are level/xp wise, and let me know if you have anything particular scenario-wise. Then we'll get going shortly there after.
Bokkah |
Cool! :D
Bokkah is up to level 3 but I haven't updated her yet. I will get that done and also my pfstracker list also.
Garduk the Unteachable |
Great! Garduk received his fifth XP at GenCon (for The Confirmation), but not his sixth, so he is still level 2 - he should be fine to play up anyway assuming our APL is 3ish. My PFS sessiontracker should be up to date, I will doublecheck this afternoon and update his profile here.
Kulga Gruenakslag |
Kulga's raring to go at level 4!
Garduk the Unteachable |
Thinking about scenario possibilities, would you have any interest in Scenario #4–19: The Night March of Kalkamedes, if it is still open for everyone? It was the only 1-5 scenario on a list someone posted of scenarios that tie in to the Season 4 Runelord-killing plot in honor of the Return of the Runelords AP that was just announced.
Brayne |
I'm pretty sure all season 4 is open to me! Happy to join this one.
My only other interest would still be to marry into the blakros family. hehe.
Chaosorbit |
We can run Night March...will wait and see if Bokkah and Kulga have that open.
We'll get back to the Museum down the road.
Bokkah |
I have played Night March unfortunately. GM'ed it also. It's a great scenario!
I updated my pfstracker if that helps choose something. 161871
Blakros Matrimony would be really cool Brayne but it's 3-7 so after Garduk levels up we could play it.
How about the Devil We Know or City of Strangers series from season 1? Shadow's Last Stand series from season 2? How about Frostfur Captives? I'd really like to try that one. Library of the Lion? Same with that one. Faithless and Forgotten series from season 7? Champion's Chalice series from season 8?
Brayne |
I'm in the midst of doing a GM run for devil we know. It's very underwhelming at tier 3-4. The total monster CR adds up to less than 3 each combat. And they are typically 0.5 or 1 monsters. Haven't played it as a player but wouldnt recommend it at the tier we're in.
I've done library, and maybe faithless part 1. Other than that i'm good.
Chaosorbit |
Ohh...Champion's Chalice series from season 8, that sounds fun...everybody good for those? If not perhaps Frostfur Captives.
Garduk the Unteachable |
Either works for me!
Chaosorbit |
Gang go ahead and give me the following info so it's easy to find at the end.
1. Player/Forum Name
2. Character's Name
3. Class and Level
4. PFS# (and dash)
5. Faction
6. Day job Roll (if any)
Garduk the Unteachable |
1. Jared Cloud/Tusk the Half-Orc
2. Garduk the Unteachable
3. Arcanist (occultist) 2
4. 199504-7
5. Dark Archive
6. Craft (bookbinding): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Garduk the Unteachable |
Garduk scribes the following spells into his spellbook and buys a scroll of each (just in case there is an opportunity to use them regardless of the rules):
- Expeditious Retreat Spellcraft, taking 10: 10 + 9 = 19
- Secluded Grimoire Spellcraft, taking 10: 10 + 9 = 19
- Stumble Gap Spellcraft, taking 10: 10 + 9 = 19
- Arcane Pocket Spellcraft, taking 10: 10 + 9 = 19
Costs:
Scribing: 15 gp x 4 = 60 gp
Scrolls: 25 gp x 4 = 100 gp
Other purchases (I might buy a little more depending on the VC's answers, but I would buy these items even if we were doing a different scenario):
Magic items:
- 2 potions of cure light wounds = 100 gp
- wand of burning hands (CL 3, 4 charges, limit 1, from The Confirmation chronicle sheet) = 180 gp
Mundane purchases (House Cartahegn 10% discount):
- Alchemist's fire x4 = 80 gp - 10% = 72 gp
- Pathfinder Chronicle (Knowledge (Arcana)) = 50 gp - 10% = 45 gp
- Pathfinder Chronicles, vol. 1 = 200 gp - 10% = 180 gp
Total: 60 + 100 + 100 + 180 + 72 + 45 + 180 = 737 gp
Assuming that the other teams will find ways to cheat and that we will, too, I am also considering using 2PP for a wand of longstrider, figuring that with a +6 UMD modifier (+8 to activate this wand after the first success), Garduk could use it (out of combat) on himself, as failing the check doesn't burn a charge - do any of the rest of you have anything put into UMD?
Kulga Gruenakslag |
1. Player/Forum Name: Cwethan
2. Character's Name: Kulga Gruenakslag
3. Class and Level: Slayer 4
4. PFS# (and dash): 182453-3
5. Faction: Sovereign Court
6. Day job Roll (if any): Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
As a Charisma 5 Dwarf I am sadly bereft of UMD...
Garduk the Unteachable |
Ok, that makes it simpler - we're going to be moving at 20' even unencumbered. I assume the scenario is built for that to work.
Bokkah |
Sorry for the delay. I haven't really had a plan for what to do with Bokkah so I have been thinking about it a lot here the last few days.
I've decided I'm going to take a level in Ranger (guildbreaker/ shapeshifter) next. I had been thinking about giving her levels in guildbreaker anyway since she's been fighting the Aspis Consortium so much. This just seems like a good time to do it so I can pick up a few extra skills before our big death race. :D
I think I will go 2 levels in ranger to get Rending Claws then start leveling brawler and pick up Feral Combat Training for flurrying. Anyway... I'm getting it all worked out right now.
1. Player/Forum Name - Tundran
2. Character's Name - Bokkah
3. Class and Level - warpriest 2/ranger 1
4. PFS# (and dash) - 161871-17
5. Faction - Exchange
6. Day job Roll (if any) - none
I'm purchasing the Mask of the Tiger's Eye from the last chronicle. Does that work with the House Cartehegn discount? I'm not sure what "mundane" means in that context.
I will probably be making other purchases also.
@Garduk I have +3 to UMD.
Chaosorbit |
No worries Bokkah, I just got a post up finally. New it was going to be a big one so I had to wait till I had time for the details I wanted to include.
No Mask of the Tiger's Eye doesn't count as mundane, even though it isn't magical, it's still more rare. I would say mundane is gear, non-magical stuff, and could include some stuff like the non-weapon alchemical items.
Bokkah |
Cool. I actually don't see any reason to spend my money buying other stuff right now, so I think I'm good to go.
EDIT - We are APL 3 with 4 players meaning we are playing low tier, is that correct?
Garduk the Unteachable |
The camp bustles activity with people settling in for the night. Brayne notices that Lucca is acting nervous, a short while later one of the event organizers approaches Lucca and the two slip off together into the woods.
Does the race not start until the next morning?

Correct
Garduk the Unteachable |
Hadn't realized that - thanks!
Garduk the Unteachable |
@Chaosorbit - are you able to mark the location of the red X on the course map?
Chaosorbit |
Will post in the morning if we haven't heard from Bokkah..or especially if we have.
Garduk the Unteachable |
Sorry for the silence - was jammed for the last couple of days. I'll post in a couple of hours.
Garduk the Unteachable |
Kulga, are you still down 9 hp? Did you heal some of that overnight?
Garduk the Unteachable |
Also, I just remembered that Garduk has the endurance feat from an alternate racial trait, so if we want to hustle both of the regular phases and do an extra phase at the end of the day, he’s in as good shape to do that as anyone.
Kulga Gruenakslag |
Should just be down 5, thanks.
Chaosorbit |
That's a wrap on Part 1...hope you enjoyed it.
Here's the chronicles
I assume you all are still interested in Part 2.
Anyone need to level up?
Also, Boon rolls - Roll a d20, a roll of 19 or 20 receives a Player boon.
Go ahead and roll
Brayne |
I will likely need ot level up! Thanks for running, it was a interesting scenario, and super interested in part 2!
boon: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Kulga Gruenakslag |
Should be good to go!
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Garduk the Unteachable |
Thanks for a great run! I need to level up, should have it done by this weekend (everyone will be glad to know that Garduk is finally getting Augment Summoning). I'm definitely interested in part 2!
Boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Bokkah |
I'm in for part 2 also! This is a really unusual scenario and it's been fun.
The chronicle looks good too.
boon: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Chaosorbit |
GM Boon Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Okay sounds good..we will tentatively plan to start up again on Monday.
Here is the teaser for the 8-21—Champion's Chalice, Part 2: Agents of the Eye
Ages before the rise of modern civilization, the cyclops empire of Ghol-Gan ruled what is now the Mwangi Expanse. The Society sends the PCs deep into the untamed Kaava lands to explore a cyclops ruin, where with a new tool in hand, the Pathfinders might uncover its forgotten and dark history. Can the PCs prevent the ruin's past from becoming Sargava's future?
Garduk the Unteachable |
I meant to ask - can Garduk hang on to the Ashen Leaves spellbook long enough to copy some of the spells into his own? If so, he will copy: alarm, burning hands, chill touch, magic weapon, sleep, and true strike. All are a DC 16 spellcraft check to copy, so taking 10 he succeeds with 19. The cost will be 10gp x 6 = 60gp.
Garduk the Unteachable |
Excellent!
Garduk the Unteachable |
Garduk is updated, with new info on the character profile page. Probably won’t have time to post on Gameplay until late afternoon, though.
Garduk the Unteachable |
I’m not sure if there was any effect when Garduk drank from the chalice. If it is too much of a derail, we could say that it was empty, and by the time he could refill it from the well, we’d all be ready to go on. It just seemed likely that Garduk wouldn’t have been able to stand it once Brayne started talking to his vision.
Chaosorbit |
@Garduk - Oh I'm sorry, I just reread the thread. Somehow I totally overlooked Garduk drinking, we'll fix that! I think I was posting at a similar time and just didn't notice it when mine posted.
Garduk the Unteachable |
No problem!
