"What? Didn't get enough smashing rocks? Feel free to go back. Me? I couldn't care less why I am here. That's not the real question. The real question is," he says turning to:

@Morgana: "What do you enjoy for breakfast?" he says lacing his fingers beneath his chin, pretending to give her his undivided attention. Or at least a part of her and his gaze slips down. "Milk by the look of it."

Morgana turns to Bobbity
Enjoying the view are we?

The elf shrugs starts rowing again, going to the left from the cave entrance and your group moves slowly towards a small shape in the distance with pointy spires. He glares at Bobbity when he addresses Morgana but says nothing.

Open roleplay for now if you want. When you're ready to proceed, let me know I'll fast forward you to the destination.

Bobbity Ormsby Mordecai Boram," the little halfling says looking up at Morgana. At her perplexed look he smiles and continues. "I get the feeling you wanted to ask my name but were too afraid to. That or it was something terribly racist. Thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt."

"As to your original question...meh. Seen better. On halflings no less. Wouldn't believe the lengths they go to for bigger boobs. Saw this one girl. Thought a pair boulders were chasing me out of the brothel. But boulders don't bounce that much. Silly halfling."

Prophet sighs--definitely the most feminine sound she's made yet, and odd-sounding coming from her--and rests her forehead in her palm. "Great. Chosen for battle, and my allies are a mad mage, a horny halfling with half-again a brain, and a 'sacred' hooker?" She shakes her head and offers a bemused look to her sword's pommel. "Gorum works in interesting ways." She looks to Secundus the skeleton. "At least there's this one. Doesn't talk too much. I like you."

"Bobbity, I am confident your sexual exploits are legendary in whatever part of the world you are from." He gives a sideways glance to the elf. "Were the rest of you chosen by a god?"

Grand Lodge

Alright, it looks like we should go ahead.

Almost an hour later, the boat passes under an raised gate built into walls of a large castle, banners bearing an eagle with a 5-leaf clover fly at the peaks of its towers. The docking area is small, just enough for a few boats like yours.

The catwalk behind the walls are sporadically occupied with guards of various races. Those on dock itself look at the suspicious group approaching with caution, bills raised. They seem to focus on the idle skeleton at the side.

The elf waves at the guards on the dock.

Prophet steps out of the boat quickly, seeming to prefer standing on solid ground. "Chaos, huh? The clash of blades, the smell of blood, the cries of dying men?"

Ilya whispers out of the side of his mouth when the small party is not passing by any house servants. "I have the impression that our host has nefarious intentions in blatant disregard of the obligations of hospitality. He was nodding conspiratorially to his guardsmen."

Grand Lodge

As soon as Prophet steps out of the boat, the elf jumps past her and out of reach. He stands behind someone who stands confidently and looks better equipped than the other guardsmen on the dock and the only one who bears the eagle insignia upon his breastplate. "I still don't know who you are and how you found that cave, but I cannot trust companions of those who bring back the d- dead! Seize them Captain!" he says.

The captain of the guard rolls his eyes but draws his sword, "You have heard master Elzar. Despite being the youngest, we are oathbound to follow his commands as a member of House Feryth. You are outnumbered ten to one! Drop your weapons and we'll treat you fairly. That is, we'll let you go if you can convince us that you mean no harm."

The rest of the guards beside the captain readies their spears, holding them shoulder high while those on the catwalk knocks arrows into their bows.

A quick count shows that there are at least 5 guards on the dock itself, and thrice that positioned along the catwalk on the walls.

"Hahahahahahahahahaha," the halfling laughs long and hard though the others are probably not aware of what is so funny. "Woo. Okay, big fella. I'll come along quietly," he says with a disarming smile, arms raised to show no ill intent.

Ilya sighs wearily and turns to his skeleton servitor, "Primus, jump in the water." The skeleton nods in assent, turning and jumping into the water without hesitation.

Ilya holds up his hands. "There, the spooky scary skeleton is gone. May we continue on our journey unmolested?"

The captain frowns "It would have been a good feint if we didn't know that skeletons don't need to breath... But no matter, we shall be ready for it should it resurface. There were lot of them coming from the abandoned monestary a few miles up north and surprised us by coming in from sea once. And now you prove to us that a necromancer who commands is among you? Guards, take them to their cells." he points to the group but looks down at Ilya in particular "We'll be having a looong talk tonight."

Interrogations go on all through the night but the party manages to sleep and rest at different hours. They keep you in isolated cells two floors below and asks questions individually. You're stripped of armor, weapons, and gear but are fed and allowed to keep your clothes.

Diplomacy or Bluff rolls please. You need to answer these questions individually (keep them in spoilers) and may get bonuses or penalties depending on how you choose to answer.

Questions:
1. "Who are you?"
2. "What were you doing in the caverns down south?"
3. "Why are you with a necromancer?" or for Ilya "A dhampir AND a necromancer... why are you here? It would have been safer for you to summon your goons from afar and keep throwing them at us."

1.

Spoiler:
I am Ilya Shukhov, cleric of Charon the Lord of the Dead. The closest approximation to my profession would be 'mortician.' To answer questions you undoubtedly have - no, I am not a necromancer. I do not go about experimenting on peasantry and raising armies of the undead to conquer the countryside. Yes, I raise the dead. In my faith, the creation of undead is a sacred rite, and not one that is done lightly. They are loyal and well-regarded servitors who perform holy work. Lord Charon does not look kindly upon those who squander his gifts for something as vulgar as personal gain.

2.
Spoiler:
I do not know, to be honest. After a vision from my god, I found myself in those caverns without knowing how I arrived. The same is true for my companions.

3.
Spoiler:
I'm not familiar with the undead who have harassed you.I did not create them.

Answers:

1. I am me obviously.

2. I and my companions where chosen by the gods to participate in an epic adventure against foes of a contradictory weal. A story no doubt rife with climactic moments, heart-wrenching dramatic scenes, and intense confrontation. Our battles will be the stuff of legends no matter which side of the blade we fall. Only the side with the greatest resolve, the toughest mental fortitude shall prevail. It will be absolutely glorious and you would do well to let us be. In return I guarantee your name shall be mentioned...somewhere...probably the appendix.

3. Why? You got a problem with necromancers? Just because some skeletons attacks your town you think all necromancers are evil. Did you even see the necromancer? Are you sure one sent them? Or are just a close-minded, back-water, hypocritical, bigot who's head is so far up his ass he can't see the light of truth. You know why a lot of necromancers are evil? S#!* like that right there. All they know is fear and violence because no one gives them the time of day. How are they supposed to react to that? Just smile and accept it? You know what happens when they do that? They bottle it up day after day until they can't fit anymore in there and then KABOOM. And all it takes is one bad day. One. Bad. Day.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Grand Lodge

@Ilya:

You sense that they can't verify nor confirm their assumptions yet, but they believe that you are telling the truth. Your act to willfully 'drown' you skeleton helped that fact.

A Ferythian scholar verified your claims about Charon who actually warned the interrogator about going against a vassal of one of the most archdaemons of Abbadon who ensures the transition of souls to their afterlife. Your holy (unholy?) symbol among your gear helped convince them.

@Bobbity:

LOL. I take it your Perception roll is actually Diplomacy since the bonuses don't match.

"I meant what is your name, halfling? And what is all these chemicals you carry? Poisons?" snarls the human interrogator who takes out one of the vials you use to combine and make bombs. He gently swirls its contents in front of you.

Response to your other answers will be on hold until Q1 is resolved.

Answers:
Yes. Totally meant to put diplomacy.

"My name is bomb and this is why." Bobbity reaches out and touches the vial, transferring a small amount of energy into it, then ducks under the table. Instead of doing damage it just pops, making the guard jump.

Grand Lodge

Still waiting for other's responses. Also, don't forget to regen 1HP and prepare your spells (aside from Bobbity/Morgana who needs their formulae/spell-book but it's with the guards for now).

@Bobbity:

The interrogator drops the broken vial in surprise but quickly regains his composure. "I can sense Bomb is not your true name, but at least you're truthful about this... chemical. Very well. That will do. For now at least..."

He snickers at your response to his second question as if he doesn't believe you. As you answer his third question, he just frowns and takes down notes, but near the end you noticed that he did a small nod as if he was doing it unconsciously.

Can I assume that was the last bomb for the previous day and not for today? Also none of those answers were false technically. BOMB is an acronym for his full name.

Grand Lodge

@Bobbity: Your bomb count resets when you re-prepare your bomb vials, so I'd say that you get your full count of bombs as soon as you can prepare them again. Also, I just realized where that came from. LOL Either way, the interrogator still does not know your full name but you're considered to be truthful about it.

Alright, jumping ahead.

Your group gathered during the next day in the main hallway towards the dungeons. The guard captain was there waiting for you and as soon as everyone is in, he says "OK, we have decided to give you guys a chance to prove yourselves. We wish for you to take care of the necromancer for us. You guys look like a very capable group, but we'll need to keep one of your numbers as... insurance. Bring back the head of the necromancer and you all get to go free with an extra 1000gp each."

"Whom did you wish to keep?"

Grand Lodge

He looks to Bobbity and says "Oh...? The master tells me you're looking for someplace, yes? We can provide you any single transport in exchange as well."

Then he turns to Ilya "Though I'm tempted to keep the mad halfling, the most powerful among you looks like the half-orc female. It is she who will stay in her cells until your return."

"What? No! Don't take our big, beautifully muscled meat shield. Who will protect us from those horrible, monstrous, undead hordes?" he says dramatically, groveling at the guards feet. Then he looks over his shoulder at Ilya. "No offense."

Grand Lodge

Prophet merely growls at the captain and stares at him. He just starts laughing though, narrow eyes looking at Bobbity "Hahaha! You're not that powerful it seems... Don't worry you'll have me with you. I'll be your guide to the abandoned monastary. Also, someone has to make sure you just don't go killing someone at random just to bring back their head. You may call me Capt. Ehvan. I'll drop by the armory to pick up my gear."

He looks to Morgana, appraisingly (red marks says this is not a word, but I can't think of anything to replace it with atm.), then to Prophet before gesturing to his lieutenants who takes back her downstairs. Another guard comes in with a sack carrying all your gear except Prophet's. "If you need anything ask the quartermaster, you can find him through that door. I'll meet you at the gates in two hours." Ehvan adds before telling his guards to escort you guys wherever you want to go within the castle.

You have time to prepare and do some other things. If you're ready to proceed, post something that says you're at the gates.

Bobbity skips over to the quartermaster and throws the door open as hard as possible. "Let's get mixing," he says happily, then disappears for an hour to prepare his bombs and extracts.

Ilya nods at the human's directions, and makes his way over to the docks. He claps his hands loudly, summoning his skeleton Primus from the watery depths. He reports back, staring into the distance toward the monastery as he speaks, "What kind of undead were sent against you, Captain?"

Grand Lodge

"Skeletons bearing bows, skeletons with spears, and a wall of zombies for every raid. They all seem the same to me, except... except for one. He always stands at the back with a full plate. He never charges in and is always the first to retreat when more than half their numbers are crushed. Our scouts have never seen what's under his helm so we cannot confirm if he's a skeleton as well or some other form of undead." the captain's face scrunches as if he remembers something, but stays silent afterwards. He tries to avoid looking at Primus.

"So, where are your companions?"

At some point during the hour Bobbity has disappeared there is a loud explosion from the quartermaster's area followed by an equally loud and high-pitched "Wasn't me!" Eventually he comes out with a liberal coating of soot.

"Hey, so, can we get ACHOO." The little Halfling sneezes with such force that most of the soot comes off in a cloud before him. It does not deter him though as continues from where he left off, "some of that money up front? I'm limited in number with these little buggers," he says brandishing the Alchemist's bombs, "but I can make all kinds of other alchemical goodies. And we should probably get a whoooooooooole lot of Holy Water."

Can't actually make anything in an hour cause crafting rules are stupid.

Grand Lodge

"Sorry little guy, but that's not up to me. I doubt you can convince them to do so, I wager... But don't worry about the holy water, we have a healthy stock upstairs and we've been provided 10 vials for this expedition." Captain Ehvan pats his bulging belt pouch, the clinking of glass obvious.

... but where is the fair lady?

After preparing her spells and tidying her self up , Morgana will join up with the rest of the group

Sorry for the delay was just just freshening up a little. Are we ready to go?

Grand Lodge

The group head to the abandoned monastery. They spend hours walking along a dusty trail across the hills going in-land, away from the sea. Just before midday, you take a short break under a huge tree atop a hill for lunch.

In the distance on one side, you can see the castle surrounded but it's the size of your fingernail now. On the other side of a hill, you can see a thick, broad expanse of trees just a couple more miles away. A shadowy haze seem to envelope the forest.

Captain Ehvan is still chewing when he notices one of you looking at the forest. He nods at it as he swallows his food, "That's where we're going. The monastary isn't too deep inside, but it'll take some careful maneuvering around the trees and their roots to maintain a quick pace."

Perception rolls please.

You all realize quickly if you haven't already, that Bobbity is not one to be quiet for long. As you walk he can't keep still or his thoughts to himself which range from the quest at hand to "What ever happened to the Cloak od Charisma. I mean a cloak is way more fashionable than a headband. Right?" It is going to take a lot of patience to deal with him for any length of time.

After the Captain mentions the forest: "Or. Or. We could burn the forest and not have to worry about pesky trees and roots. Eh?"

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Ilya peers into the distance, and seems to furrow his eyebrows in thought at Bobbity's words. "Captain, do any creatures, of any appreciable nature, live in theses woods?"

Grand Lodge

Capt. Ehvan frowns at Bobbity, "No, this forest has been a great resource to our families even before the castle was built... that's-- uh, how I remember it at least. Everything is a fuzzy memory starting a few weeks ago. As for creatures, we only know of the native wolves roaming from time to time, but they rarely show themselves unless the whole pack has gone hungry."

@Ilya:

It might have looked normal for the others, but you notice that some of the trees on the eastern side of the forest seem to writhe. As if its branches were occupied by many creatures.

Ilya points toward the eastern side of the forest. "Some of the trees seem to... writhe. As though their branches are occupied by many, many creatures." He turns to the captain. "Do you know what to make of this?"
