RD 2: pavaleen
I miscalculated the hellfire damage last round. He does 3d6 fire damage and 3d6 of hellfire damage.
The mighty creatures presses its attack on Daniel,
slam 1, hellfire temp: 1d20 + 19 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 19 + 2 = 30;damage: 2d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1) + 7 + 2 = 16
fire: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12
hellfire: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) = 7
*1/2 is unholy damage and not subject to fire resistance
plus grab
CMB v CMD: 1d20 + 23 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 23 + 2 = 30
slam 1, hellfire temp: 1d20 + 19 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 19 + 2 = 33;damage: 2d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 + 2 = 15
fire: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14
hellfire: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2) = 14
*1/2 is unholy damage and not subject to fire resistance

Daniel Arrisen |
Fort save vs Paralised: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
His grapple hits. We BOTH take a -4 to Dex. Lowering AC by 2
The paladin shrugs off the paralysis of the Morhg's tongue but is locked in a grapple where he cannot use his Greatsword.
Instead he let's go of his sword and let's his armored Cesti do the talking.
Smite Evil- remember the first attack does DOUBLE damage to evil undead and all attacks bypass his DR
1st Iterative, PA, Smite: 1d20 + 22 - 4 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 22 - 4 + 4 - 2 = 36
2 hand damage: 1d6 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 8 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 8 + 13 = 30
2nd Iterative, PA, Smite: 1d20 + 22 - 4 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 22 - 4 + 4 - 2 = 28
2 hand damage: 1d6 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 8 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 8 + 13 = 32
If only the first hits Daniel did 60 damage. If both hit he did 93
Aurelio Grulios |
Aurelio will growl at the mohrg fighting Daniel and attack again.
Attack (Shield): 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (5) + 24 = 29
Attack (Kukri): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37
Attack (Shield): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Attack (Kukri): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Attack (Shield): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Damage (Shield): 2d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 1) + 22 = 26
Damage (Kukri): 1d4 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Damage (Shield): 2d6 + 22 ⇒ (4, 2) + 22 = 28
Damage (Kukri): 1d4 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Damage (Two Weapon Rend): 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
I believe that's 101 damage against the mohrg - even with prone I don't think the last attack hits.

Daniel Arrisen |
The 2 hand damage was a typo. The math is right. 1d6 is a cesti.+5is one hand str,+1 enhance, +1 Blessing of watch, +8 1hand PA, +13 Smite. I just accidentally wrote 2 hand.
Andrea1 |
He was the leader of a gang called the Bastards of Erebus who laired in the north section of the city. They killed a bunch of merchants and did kidnapping, we fought them and wiped them out. As for why he is back, someone reanimated him to use as a weapon. It just goes to show that we need to start crematign the remains of our foes.
Andrea looks at the stairs up. Guess there is only one way tog o.
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel retrieves his sword and wipes the remaining Gore from his cesti.
Let's not dally. I have not heard the girl since the fight started. Unless the monster somehow made the noise.
Unsure if the girl was still alive the paladin starts up the stairs.
The hound waits for Aurelio to move next then heads up, floating 6 inches off the ground again.
Mathalen |
Aurelio resumes the lead with his shield held firmly, Daniel, Andrea, Phem, Gerard and the hound follow up the stairs.
Once the bedroom of the commanding officer, this room has been cleaned up by Thesing to the best of his abilities. While it’s still dark and damp, the furniture is mostly new and clean. There is an attractive femal laying sprawled on the bed, tied with leather strapes, her clothes are mostly torn off, she is pale and with vampire bites on the neck and inner thigh but not quite yet dead. Although she is unresponsive.
Daniel Arrisen |
The paladin looks shocked at the scene and sheaths his blade and moves to cover then untie the woman, quickly using a move action to detect evil in the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Azreal. |
The Movanic Diva senses evil automatically as he enters the room
Perception: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (1) + 26 = 27
Constantly in effect
He lowers to the floor and unless he senses a malevolent presence, will cast Cure serious wounds, Remove Disease, then remove curse.
I will grant her Heaven's healing
CSW: 3d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 5, 2) + 8 = 19
Remove Curse DC check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Remove Disease DC check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
He notices the wounds on Daniel and also heals him.CSW: 3d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) + 8 = 18
Daniel Arrisen |
Should she awake Daniel will ask her how she feels and if she is weak of constitution he will cast LESSER RESTORATION on her.
Lesser Restore ability damage if needed: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel looks hopeful.
We only just entered, getting her out is not a problem. The was only one way out behind us. But we do not know where the vampire is. There is nothing to stop him turning gaseous and going after her. I say we can bring her along. I'd not leave her unguarded. Unless anyone has a better idea.
Andrea1 |
Andrea goes over and touches Mathalen with the healing wand.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8
Yes, it is me. When did Thesing take you? Andrea cuts a leather strap to free her and looks at Daniel. Remember that it is daytime so Thesing won't be able to pursue her.
She turns back to Mathalen. Do you know where Thesing is in this tower?
Andrea1 |
Andrea waves Aurelio over so that Mathalen is within the Magic Circle against Evil. From her past experiances, she knows vampires can dominate and charm so this might help free her mind if she is enslaved.
We will get you out of here. Andrea frees Mathalen. Let's get her out of her and then we can continue the search, she is weak and will be in danger if we take her with us
Mathalen |
As Mathalen sits up on the bed she lunges towards the flat-footed Andrea, who was releasing her feet. "Die bytche."
unarmed attack, flurry: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9;dam: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
unarmed attack,flurry: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16;dam: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
this happens before Aurelio enters back in the room. the bed is large and the room is not that big to hold the party. Basically, Danile and Andrea are in the room. Aurelio is at the top of the stairs.
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel is momentarily stunned at the sudden turn of the woman's manner. To quick to stop the attack.
But he steps behind the girl and sweeps her legs out from under her...
Full Attack Improved Trip: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 22 + 2 = 38
and when she is dropped attempts to tackle her on the ground.
2nd Iterative Grapple-provokes AOO vs prone: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Stop. We are trying to help you!
She can AOO Daniel for the grapple. If she tries to stand, she provokes an AOO from Daniel and Andrea and will only get a single attack
Daniel Arrisen |
Well, if she is continuing to attack use the rolls for Grapple, if she was on the bed not standing she is prone anyway. Basically Daniel is trying to restrain without hurting. What is her reaction?
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel easily bats aside the raw but poorly trained punches and kicks and holds the woman down with the sheets.
Why is she crazed? Andrea, you know this woman!
Azreal. |
Knowledge:Religion: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Azreal steps forward and casts his spell again.
Vampires can force their will upon the weak minded. Making them do their bidding. I am trying to remove the effect but this Vampire may be more powerful than you give him credit.
Remove Curse: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Andrea1 |
The enchantment must be dispelled. It is not a curse.
Dispel Magic.
Blood drips from Andrea's hand as she attempts to dispel the effect.
+3 to Caster check
Caster check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Pfff Figures Time for Plan B:Beat unconcious
Daniel Arrisen |
Azreal hears Andrea's advice and reaches within his own AT WILL spell like abilities.
Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13, casting the spell repeatedly if necessary to free the woman from her bondage.
Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Hold her down, I can repeat this indefinitely. I will eventually succeed, unless this Vampire is also a master wizard.
Azreal can cast DISPEL Magic at will, he is bound to get it eventually
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel looks frustrated as The Hound gives up.
I honestly do not know what to do with her. I doubt she will be safe here and for whatever reason Azreal's magic is unable to fix her mind. Andrea? Em?
Azreal. |
The hound pauses about to speak, then stops, as though he has doubt but then offers anyway, I can send her to another plane, in fact I can send her to whatever deity she worships relm. I cannot be any more accurate than somewhere within 500miles. But gods know all that occurs within their own realms, what safer place could she be than in the heaven she most desires? OR I could cast an Anti-magic field which will suppress her domination. However it suppresses ALL magic within it. Including your gear.
Baldwin feel free to rule/jump in on this. I am trying to find a nice way of getting rid of her without having Azreal actually physically escort her, like he did with Tilneros sister. If you feel he is unbalancing the game, by all means have him escort her.
Andrea1 |
Andrea looks relieved as Azreal's magic manages to release Mathalen's mind from the domination.
I am unsure about transporting her to another plane unless Azreal can go and vouch for her. How would your fellow angel's respond to her presence? I do not believe they would harm her without cause but she might be imprisoned or assaulted by non-angelic creatures
Know-Planes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Andrea manages to quote her knowledge of the heavens.
Since we seem to have disposed of the undead on the upper floors, we can explore the stairs that go downwards from the entryway.
