While bow and nails injure the dog, this is a tough customer it seems used to a scrap or two. The dog begins to growl and bark and bites at the Ripper.

The dog's bite is as bad as its bark as it nips some flesh from Alicarus' hand and pulls him to the ground!

Alicarus you have been tripped prone and you take 6 damage.

As you head towards the gates you hear the sound of a growl and then a bark coming from within the compound! It seems the stealthy group was not as stealthy as they believed they would be!

The gate stands between you and the inside of the compound, how do you propose to get in?


"We need to get their attention."

Robert shouts for the benefit of those inside the Tannery. "Open up in the name of the Church!"

Robert raps loudly at the gate of the Tannery with his mace, hoping that the sound masks the stealth team's approach. "Open up I say!!!"

Alic grunts as the dog tears into his arm and he falls to the ground, trying to keep it from biting something more vital. If Castiel's second arrow doesn't bring it down, he slashes again with his nails, desperately trying to fend off the animal.

Noticing that Robert is trying to hide his face, Alexander tries to do the same by trying to make the collar of his robe stand up. He grumbles while doing so. "Tsk... What in Nethys's scorched rear is going on in there..."

Male Ifrit crossblooded sorcerer (Rakshasa/Efreeti bloodline) 1

Darkin walks up to the anti-palidan, seeing that he is the one lest likely to ruin Darwin's garb. His bare chest is covered in black swirling tattoos, and the armored sash around his belly is a little loose. Darkin is in no way trying to hide himself. If there is something wrong, i advise we do something to fix it he then draws his greatsword, the heavy blade still not quite familiar in his hands.

Vasago's second arrow silence the dog. They can hear their comrades at the front gates screaming and demanding entry!

At that moment the door opens and another dog bounds out, standing inside is a man holding a crossbow! He sees the dog on the ground, "By the Gods you'll pay for that!"

You can try to bash through or climb the gates. These gates look stout so climbing is likely the better option - DC 15

With a surprising amount of grace, Pelleas scampers up onto the wall with no trouble at all. Once there, he wraps his thick tail about one of the supports and offers a hand to Vadim, before pulling backwards to haul the armored man over the wall. "Come on then, let's get you over the wall," he says, nearly falling over the other side from the weight of the antipaladin's armor. "Here, give me your hand and I'll pull you up," Pelleas says to Darkin, his feet perched like a goat's.

Vadim smiles, though how anyone can tell that when he's wearing a full helmet is anyone's guess, and steps in to Pelleas's hand, jumping up and grabbing the top of the gate before using his impressive strength to haul himself over. "My thanks my friend! Praise be to the goddess who brought us together."

Alexander lets out a loud 'tsk' when the commotion starts. "Damn it. So much for going in quietly." He runs to the gate and tries his luck in climbing it as well.

And doesn't have any luck in finding purchase for his hands. Grumbling he will attempt again as soon as he can.

Alicarus draws his weapon and gets to his feet in time to see Castiel hit the door frame instead of the man holding the crossbow within the building.

The dog charges at Castiel while the man with the crossbow fires it at Alicarus.

The dog overshoots the mark as does the man with the crossbow.

Alicarus sees what the man and dog do not, half of the rest of the group climbing the fence!

Vadim takes one look at the situation and laughs. "Wonderful! Blood to shed and enemies to slay." He draws his scythe and moves forward slowly, spinning his weapon and making a display of his blade. "Come at me you mongrel! I'll gut you like a pig!"

Alexander grumbles as he tries to scurry over the walls of the fort. "Damn it all!"

Even if with assistance, Alexander can't even find a handhold to lift himself off the ground. He looks back and forth along the wall then sighs as he realizes something. "Hey... Why don't one of you just... Open the gate!?"

"A delightful tale." Alic grins and flits forward a couple quick steps, whipping his chain about him with vicious speed, and sending it tearing toward the dog's throat. He clicks his tongue as it misses, however, and wraps it back up his arm, drawing fresh rivulets of blood. "Sir Aglrmore just needed more faith in the benefits of such suffering."

Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 11
Damage: 2d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1) + 1 + 1 = 7

Alic's AC is 15 until his next turn.

Would having extra arms, and a pole arm help me out with lifting the gate off the hinge?

Looking at the gate he motions to the others on, the other side, "Quickly now, I have no key, but if each of you help me, we should be able to life one side off the hinge"

Action: delay until assists or until the round is over, at which point he will come out of delay and attempt to life the gate himself if it hasn't moved


"Open the gates!!!!" Robert reminds those who manage to get to the other side.

Darkin hears the others shouting and frowns. He readies himself. Drawing from the power within himself, he creates a sheild of force in front of him. cast sheild on self


"Open the... yes, the gates!" Pelleas says, dropping nimbly from atop the wall. While not a strong man, Pelleas does his best to aid his companions in opening the gate so the others might enter. "We'll be there shortly!" Pelleas calls, his voice sounding more like he was calling to his companions about a luncheon than a battle. "We just have to pry open this damned gate!"

Alicarus' chain just misses the dog's neck despite Castiel's rousing performance.

"Come at me you mongrel! I'll gut you like a pig!" screams Vadim, the man holding the crossbow is obviously intimidated by the powerful and frighteningly clad evil Paladin.

Agog Strength check DC 20 to lift the gate.

Pelleas Perception DC 10:
You see a box with a lever sticking out of it, the box locks the lever in position, if you can get that box off, the lever will probably open the gate right up!

Alexander simply cannot get over the gate as it has so few footholds to assist in the climbing.

Darkin casts a spell to protect himself from missile weapons if an attack comes at him from the perimeter of the walls.

Robert, your action is held until Agog acts, if he fails to open the gate you can still act at the end of the round.

Jabral reloads!

The dog switches his attack to the more aggressive of the two men, his bits snags Ali's leg. You take 8 damage form the grievous wound and go down to -3 HP!

Castiel and Vadim see Alicarus go right down as the accumulation of dog bites he has suffered have overtaken him.

The man in the building reloads his crossbow though Vadim can see quite clearly that his hands are shaking.

Once Argog, Pelleas, and Roberts actions are adjudicated, we will move to Round 3


Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

"Hmm? Wait a moment, it seems there's some sort of lever..." Pelleas says, moving to inspect it. "Give me a moment, I'll have it open! I just need to get into this box." Giving it a once over, Pelleas attempts to open the box to get to the lever, so that he can pull it to open the gate.


Shadow's Status

Roll Disable Device Pelleas OR Smash the Panel. Auto hit & roll damage.


After inspecting the box for a moment, Pelleas grins wickedly as he figures out its mechanisms. "Ah, now I've got it! We just need to slide this piece down, so we can turn the gears that release this..." he mumbles, working all the while. If he successfully releases the lever, Pelleas's grin spreads wider as he grabs hold of it with both hands and pulls it forward with all his might.

Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

The clever Alchemist picks the lock on the box and engages the lever opening the floodgates of Hell's Minions!

Argog and Robert's actions then onto next round!


If the gates are open I go in, taking care that my face is hidden by my cowl. I scream "Surrender in the name of the Church.

Argog will move towards the entrance to the building, closing in on the poor fool who dares defy the wrath of... this group!

Alic gasps from the pain and falls to the ground, a smile coming to his lips as he drops. It seems the Kuthite continues to take pleasure in the pain even to his own demise.... unless he somehow knows he will live through this danger.

Stabilize: 1d20 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 3 = 13 Stable at -3! Judgment is still on, although not active while I'm unconscious (a bit of a shame since healing would help and seems thematic, but ah well).
