I feel kind dumb for catching this so late (still finishing up moving), and I'm not a big fan of retconning but I'm gonna say it anyway if only to open up discussion.
First: even with a natural 20, and a bit of book knowledge, Josh would still be ages away from even coming up with a theory about dimensional travel...at least one that was anywhere near credible.
Secondly, and it's going to seem like I'm picking on Josh, but I don't intend to: science was supposed to be Phillip's thing. Which is not to say that Josh can't be good at science, (indeed, they both have 18 INT now) but I feel that it's a little bit (and probably involuntary) toe stepping
Please, everyone else feel free to comment, that's what this tab is for after all.

Again, sorry for interfering and going out of bounds. I'm completely new to PbP, so criticism-if it's constructive-is always appreciated.
You're right, though, we should fully retcon that. It would take months, if not years, to come up with a theory even relatively as credible.

Hi there fellow gamers. With a small number of exceptions, there have been few posts on the game, and I'd like to fix that. I know a lot of the blame can be placed on me, as I've been lax myself, both on posting and "pushing" so I'm going to institute some new rules in hopes that we can salvage this and get back on track.
1st is this: If you go more than one day without posting you will be botted/npced. Obviously there will be things that come up, but just let me know and I'll do a (hopefully close) post for you in your character's voice.
2nd: I'm instituting the baseball rule. If you are botted more than 3 times without some warning to the rest of us, you're (unfortunately) out and I'll try to find a replacement.
This could be considered harsh to some, but I think it's maybe the kick in the pants that we need (myself included).
Also, in the interest of keeping the story flowing; there's no need to ask about minutiae. If you think it's reasonable for your character to have something, go ahead and move forward. I will let you know if it's not ok. So be creative, just use your judgement.
I thank you for your continued interest, and hope we can work together to make this game fun.

Okie dokie. Looks like it's back to recruitment, and looking for a rogue-type. If anyone knows any players they can recommend, I'll take those suggestions. Otherwise, I'm going to put up a recruitment post tomorrow.
Lets take a break over the weekend, and hit it running fresh on the new week.
Sound good?

Miya Casten |

I'm open for a recruitment post to be made on the morrow and then wait for the newcomer (fingers crossed) to join us at the beginning of next week. But if the break is longer than that, I feel that motivation will start to wane and the game will end up dying.
I don't have any players to recommend at this time.

Sorry about the lack of posting yesterday guys. I totally spaced out. Meant to post before I went to bed but I guess I got distracted.
On a more positive note, looks like we've got a new PC coming in, filing our gap for a roguey type.
Right now I'm figuring ways to work her in (and move Josh out), but I encourage you to converse and introduce yourselves here.

Jessalyn Velos |

Hi, all!
I'm Jess and I'll be playing your roguey type. ;)
I have placed some info on Jessalyn's profile page -- but if you need me to tweak some associations/relationships within the group, just let me know. :)
I'm intrigued at how shrodingerscat will introduce Jess into the story/game.

It has come to my attention that maybe I'm playing a bit to loosely...too sandboxy and giving you too many options. I realize that sometimes too many choices can lead to indecision, and you guys maybe be stuck with what to do next. I'm going to try to be better about that and give you more hooks.
It is a sandbox game, and I want it to be lead by you guys, but I'll throw out more breadcrumbs.
I'll have some posts for you tomorrow.

@Shrodingerscat: I think in the beginning we can't lead the direction of the game/story as our characters are newly installed in the fantasy world with no prior knowledge of it (apart from the disjointed memories Adam has, who is run by you). We need a structure in place (perhaps via the current lot of "helpful" npcs) to aid us in getting on our feet in this new world and then we may be able to better manoeuvre it. We're currently waiting for Robin and the faery to return to the cottage, so we can gain more/new information and figure out what our next move is. Thanks, DM.

Lydia and Lucian, we're just waiting on responses from you guys before we can attempt something with the ogre, weapons etc ... Are you guys around?
Just some of my thought processes openly shared: Since Lucian is the one with army training/experience, Miya would be asking him for tactical guidance and she would provide backup. So, Lucian, in her eyes, becomes somewhat of a leader for the group ...

Heya people,
This is one of those uncanny, strange situations when Real Life takes precedence over gaming :D Just today I started on a new job, a real challenge that I think may actually change things for me (and my family) in the future, so I find myself in the despicable situation of having to drop similar lines in many of my games.
My job is IT related [one if my areas of expertise I guess ;)], and most likely means soon I will be sitting in front of a laptop on my own, with enough autonomy to spend my time as I see fit - improving on my ITIL knowledge, posting on one of my numerous PbP games, whatever...
The thing is, I need to commit to this one, so it means some serious decisions regarding my games - I simply cannot stick with all of them, so I have taken the decision to stick with my oldest games, ones I have committed to long ago, and which have stuck with me for a looooong time.
DMshrodingerscat, what you are doing is simply amazing. The level of commitment to a homebrew such as this one is something honestly out of the ordinary, and I can only hope to someday live up to it. But not right now - I am going to drop out of your game, in spite of admiring your work, and the group of players you have managed to gather.
I can only hope me leaving will be something quickly assimilated, and look forward to the chance of having an opportunity to play with you all in a near future, RL permitting.
I am honestly sorry for dropping out... I wish you all a great game (and I am sure it will be so), DMshrodingerscat thanks for giving me a chance of playing in your game - it was honestly worthwhile.
Thank you all again.

Well, sorry to see you go Luc. You had a cool character and it was fun interacting with you and seeing how you worked with everyone.Good luck to you in your new job. Cheers. :)
To the rest of you, that leaves us down a player. As our replacement for Josh hasn't been introduced yet, that leaves us in a bit of a pickle.
It is certainly possible that you get through this encounter with out a fight, but...
So, it has been suggested that someone bot Lucian till we can get someone else to fill his shoes. I'm going to put up a recruitment asking someone to take over his character and change it up a little to suit themselves, but keep the core of his barbarianess and background.
Back to the meantime though...would either Lydia or Phillip like to run Lucian until we get a replacement/possibility of imminent combat is over?
