How to make an Ifrit Inquisitor

Advice

So I read through both Inquisitor guides, and I'm wondering if there's actually anyway to make an Ifrit Inquisitor fun mechanically. I was looking at the Immolator archetype, but since most guides are covering it I decided to ask. So, anyone have advice on making an Ifrit Inquisitor using or not using the Immolator archetype, or is Tiefling that much better?

The Exchange

The only reason that I see an Ifrit as mechanically worse as a Tiefling in being an Inquisitor is that
A: The Ifrit gain a -2 to Wisdom, which effects many of their abilities. At the same time, though, they get a +2 to Charisma, which is a great increase to many of the things that Inquisitors do.
B: The Ifrit is a 6 Race Point race as opposed to the Tiefling's 13. This means that the Tiefling has more or stronger abilities.

More importantly, if the character works for the party that it is in, such as they don't have any issue with a miniature Fire Elemental, but do have a problem with a miniature Fiend, then obviously the Ifrit would be better. In a campaign that has hate for Elementals, though, the Tiefling would be a better choice.

Really, it's up to you. Play what you want, and have fun.

As for Advice, the Immolator archetype makes fire much more appealing to use fire style attacks and whatnot. Even though Fire is one of the most common resistance types, the Immolator would completely ignore that as it reduces the resistance to it. Of course, later levels against something that has Fire Immunity would be useless, but at least it makes fire more viable. And plus, who doesn't want to light things on fire?

Sovereign Court

Remember, most of the guides out there are for optimization. It's perfectly possible to make a Dwarf Wizard or even a Halfling Barbarian - the same goes for an Ifrit Inquisitor. Just try to make sure you end up with at least a 12 or 13 Wis after your racial penalty and you'll be OK, as long as you aren't in a munchkin campaign. (Perhaps consider an archer inquisitor, since you have a bonus to Dex.)

Thanks guys. I'm not really playing with Munchkins so I don't think that should be a problem. Tirq, thanks for the advice and explanation :) I enjoy Ifrit, but Tiefling is for sure my number one race to play. So, going Tiefling for Inquisitor, any domains you would suggest for an Inquisitor? In the game I'm in we're starting out at 5th level, so I'm trying to pick something good.

The Exchange

Really, it depends on what you view as a good option to take. Perhaps you would want yours to be a worshiper of the Moon Goddess, and thus take the Moon subdomain of the Darkness domain. Maybe you want to take the Black Powder Inquisition so that you may shoot first and ask questions while shooting. Perhaps you want to be that one traveling guy and take the Travel domain. Maybe a brilliant war leader and thus take the Tactics subdomain of the War domain. It really boils down to "What did my character do in his backstory that makes him a hero today, and how does that make his abilities work?"
