I received my CRB (subscription copy) today. It's a gorgeous book, but my copy has a binding problem. The pages aren't attached to the white strip of fabric they should be. This means the book folds in a funny way when I try to read it, and I'm sure it won't hold up under normal use. I sent a picture a few minutes ago by email.

Hi Redelia,
Thanks for letting us know! I've confirmed that your email is in the inbox, so we should be all set. Since almost all of our staff is currently at GenCon, we'll be addressing the issue after folks have returned. Just let me know if there is anything else I can help out with in the meantime, and I will be happy to do so.
Thanks, and have a great day!

I just wanted to send a quick update, the problem is slowly getting worse with use. The book seems to be developing a 'memory' what pages have been opened, and feel looser there. It also often makes a craching sound often when I open it. I'm almost afraid pages are going to start falling out the next time I try to read it.
After seeing many people posting with what sounds like the exact same problem, I also wanted to clarify that mine is the standard cover.

As I feared, my Starfinder Core Rulebook with the improperly glued binding has continued to deteriorate. I just sent in a picture by email showing that at least one of the white fabric bits meant to hold the book together is falling out.

Send an email to customer.service@paizo.com, along with pictures of the defect. Please be patient, they have a large backlog of emails, so a reply will come late.I got mine at GenCon and started noticing this issue real early. I didn't realize it was a 'thing' until someone mentioned it.
What do I need to do?

Hello Erithtotl,
Franz is correct. Send us an email with some pictures of the book that we can pass along and we should be able to get a replacement sent out to you. As Franz mentioned, please keep in mind that we have a very large influx of emails and are working to get them all responded to, so it may take a while to hear back from us. We will get you taken care of.

Hello Lorddoom1985,
Your first step will be to see if the place your purchased it from will replace it for you, as we have steps in place to replace damaged or defective items through distribution. If they cannot replace it for you please let us know and we should be able to get a replacement set up for you.

Hi,
I have a Starfinder core book with bad binding. I bought it last September 2017, it wasn’t from Paizo.
The book sat on my shelf until April 2018 I recently got a group together to GM Dead Suns. That's when I discovered the bad binding. It won't last much longer.
I emailed the seller and no response. I emailed Paizo customer service address twice with photos on April 26th and May 9th and haven't received a reply. I checked all my email buckets to be sure.
Is there a different email address I should use?
BTW, I have all the Starfinder books and the rest are solid, quality products as usual.
Regardless of the outcome I appreciate any assistance and thank you for your time.
Loren

Hey EL-EL. Customer Service is a bit backlogged currently. See this post: We're up through roughly April 16th.
I'm sure they get to your mails, if they've gone through the aether, but it will take some more days.
