Looking through the current Psyinics thread has given me an idea.
Why not produce a psi book that has two "class" chapters. The first would provide two classes, psionic equivalents to the wizard and sorcerer, exact equivalents, with vancian spell progressions matching wiz and sor....
The second would provide a PSP type system, and show how to use it with the current spell lists.
This way, GMs can decide to use the vancian system for everyone, the old way with mixed systems, or even the PSP system for everyone....
You'd even sell the book to GMs who like the idea of PSPs, but hate psionics.
Interesting idea but I think it can be condensed down into less then two chapters, hopefully If you want to do vancian like psionics system based on the current 3.5 the key is to find a general easy to use formula that can be applied to existing powers. We have a small advantage there as UA (OGL) gives us almost the exact framework on which to build. If anything it would be more like a chapter on converting Spell Slots to Spell Points.
On a different note it would be important for any PXHP book to dedicate a decent amount to cross-power play. I mean games that mix Magic and Psionics freely and not as independent segregated systems. That includes some advice on how to work with fantasy psionics, not sci-fi psionics. We can do better then 'its a strange kind of mind magic' can't we?
