Kyson looks at Khaz, shrugging. Not having heard the conversation and unable to understand any nuances on his own, he doesn't have an opinion.

"Can you ask more questions? Find out more about who did this to them and who else we might face. Also, ask if they know how the pearls are made."

Kyson hopes Khaz will translate.

"Sure, I'll translate whatever you want to know. Zstelian, Linah, Sekathryl, do you want to ask anything?"

Khaz relays Kyson's questions in Draconic to the best of her ability, then turns an enquiring eye back to the others.

The troglodyte seems to get excited at Khaz's question, leaping to his feet in the cave.

"Oh, I know where the shadow pearls are from. I can take you there!" he exclaims in Draconic.

While you think he's telling the truth, Khazmia, it's also painfully obvious that the troglodyte is hiding something.

These troglodytes where deformed, right?

"Can you ask him if he knows what is wrong with them?" Linah asks and reaches out to draw the blanket off the other troglodyte. Studying the creature she tries to determine what happened to the two reptiles.

Sekathral's easily able to get the cage open and the troglodyte hopes out.

At Khazmia's direct questioning, he looks chagrined.

"OK, you am clearly very sightful," he says, with a sigh. "The pearl-maers, we call them the Lords of Dread, have led my people away from Laogzed's truth and infected them with disease. They wanted me to be with them, and were upset when I said they were wrong! So they stuck me here to get sick."

Linah lifts the blankets covering the other creature and is surprised to see a dark-skinned man, clearly some sort of Olman. His flesh is thick and crusty, though, likely due to whatever was affecting the troglodytes, and he moans insensate at the light. A thin line of drool dribbles down his chin.

She points and nods to Linah, her arms moving in wide sweeping gestures, then back at the trog, her movements far less grand and ornate.

In Draconic, but the translations get cumbersome after awhile., "The wise Linah, SunKist of Her Lady and Healer of the Unworthy asks 'what purpose does this chamber we stand in serve, and how often is it used? Linah steps up to the priest. She knows that the wave of positive energy was not directed at her but still it caught the paladin off guard. A god that accepts sacrifices can't be described as good under any circumstances, but the priest was yet to show any aggression. "Lay down your weapon and I shall sheathe mine", she tells the troglodyte priest and lowers her scimitar.

Crap; that was a brain fart due to a 3.x conversion; he would actually channel negative energy, which couldn't heal him. Let's all pretend he cast a cure spell he had prepared instead.

Round 2, Init 17

Kyson oofs as the power of Sarenrae's fire bedazzles even him.

Oof! Sarenrae *really* hates these guys. So do I!

Confident that he is doing the right thing, Kyson presses the attack and moves up to get into combat. Airwalking closer.

As a warning to the 6 oncomers to flee, Kyson tosses a little ball of fire at the lead one, clearly warning them what will happen if they come closer.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 touch to hit;
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 fire damage.

Kyson's fireball catches the nearest troglodtye, but seems to do nothing to deter it, nor do Linah's entreaties. The troglodyte yells back, "We fight to the death for Laogzed, we fight --" before Sekathral's bullet takes it in the head and Khazmia's fiery blast puts it out of its misery.

Zstelian has less trouble with his foe, whirling blades cutting it to shreds. Moments later, he's surrounded by the oncoming trogs, his full efforts put to defending himself.

Two others, heading for Linah and Sekathral approach and cast spells.
